You need to have an attitude of thankfulness all day, every day.

If you can 't find something to be grateful for, you are not trying. It 's pathetic that we dedicate only one day a year for thanksgiving. It should be something you practice every single day.

When you are not grateful, you take everything you have for granted. Suddenly, your life is not as exciting or special anymore. To keep yourself up and in a state of positivity, be thankful for what you have now and stop thinking about what you don 't have.

3. Stop holding grudges.

Holding grudges is a sure way of making sure that you keep that negativity that comes from depression. You need to practice forgiveness. It doesn 't matter what they did to you.

I am sorry to tell you this but if you keep thinking of what they did to you, it will just put you deeper in depression and negativity.

4. Take "positive" pills.

I 'm not talking about prescription medicine. But if you want to learn how to overcome depression, you need to be either reading or listening to positive books or messages.

The easiest way to do this is to simply download an audio series or self-help book to your portable player and listen on the way to work and back or whenever you are driving.

5. Birds of a feather flock together.

Surround yourself with positive people. Stop hanging around the nay sayers, mean, rude, ungrateful, always complaining people.
