How Did Ferdinand Magellan Made The Biggest Impact

Magellan was given credit for being the first to travelling around the world. He had begun his voyage on September 20th, 1519. Magellan was fascinated and determined by the idea of finding the Spice Island. Magellan had done many minor explorations before. The exploration of Columbus gave him the idea of a successful expedition to The Caribbean. Magellan had asked the Portuguese king to support his expedition but the king had denied his offer. So he went to Spanish Royalty to ask for help which was granted. The Spanish King agreed to give an armada of five ships. Magellan should have been defended because he is determined, he has good navigation skills and he was religious.

In 1492, Christopher Columbus set sail from Spain looking for a shortcut to Asia. The King and Queen of Spain put the money up for the cost of the journey. He was looking for trade goods that he could sell back in Spain, he took a Catholic priest with him to spread the word of God to the native people of the new lands. These explorations will change the world more between 1400 and 1800, trade, travel, weaponry, and ideas will result in changes that will be seen around the world.

Vasco Da Gama was a Portuguese explorer and the first person to reach India by sea. Christopher Columbus was an Italian explorer, he was determined to find a water route to Asia, but he never did. He accidentally stumbled upon the Americas. Ferdinand Magellan was a Portuguese explorer, known for being the first person to circumnavigate the planet Earth.

1519: a Spanish armada of five ships set sail that would soon be the first to circumnavigate the globe. Their captain, a Portuguese noble, was an accomplished student of cartography and astronomy. Europe’s cravings for spices sent Columbus to Asia, and into the barrier that was the Americas. Magellan’s expedition sought to find a way through, on a mission to bring a new trade route and immense wealth to Spain. Through the crew’s starvation, two mutinies against him, and his harsh personality and lack of accomplishment, Magellan proved his life was not worth saving.

Both Magellan and Copernicus wanted to changed the world in someway. Copernicus changed the world by proposing this crazy idea that would have gotten him killed if he were to publish his findings publicly during his lifetime. Magellan strived to map the world from Spain to China by sailing around it which ended up killing him by the time he got to the Philippines. Copernicus may be more scientifically inclined than Magellan and Magellan is better with navigation than Copernicus, however, the two thought alike to open new beginnings in exploration and adventure. Ferdinand Magellan is the son of Portuguese nobility and a student of cartography and astronomy. Magellan had a goal to discover a western sea route through the Americans that led to the Spice Islands. Throughout this voyage Magellan wanted more such as his own fleet which was refused to be given by the King of Portugal. Instead, the Spanish king provided an armada or fleet or ships of five. Magellan employed a group of men in their teenage years and twenties which later staged a mutiny.

Introduction: Columbus he has change history as we know it in 1492. When he sailed to the americas to find things new for europe, and know one believed he could find it but he did because one person believed.

Over thousands of years there have been many people who have modernized the world and shaped it to be the way it is today. One of the people who has had a huge impact on this world is Christopher Columbus. He was an Italian explorer and the founder of the new world. His goal was to find a passage to India but instead found where the modern days bahamas are and opened the doors for European exploration. Affected by this exploration was global population, global economy, political reign, and advancements in technology. This new era is called the age of exploration.

I think that da Gama is the most important explorer of the Colonization Era. Although he didn’t explore the Americas, he did something much more important. Vasco da Gama found a sea route to India. Not only did this spark a huge amount of trade between the two regions, but it allowed for the interchange of philosophy and religion. By Vasco da Gama finding a sea route to India, the 2 distinct cultures of Europe and Asia could exchange themselves to each other.

He and his crew also proved that the world is much larger than originally thought.
