How did the colonists manage to triumph in their battle for independence despite Great Britain’s military might? If any of these factors had been different, how might it have affected the outcome of the war?
In January 1973 his unit was sent back to Fort Knox, KY and with the move, his military career seem to disappear. Also with the move, he had a spiritual rebirth, and began attending services at Beth Haven Baptist Church in Louisville and soon changed from a Jew to a Christian.
Lincoln decided to issue the Emancipation Proclamation because he needed to turn the battle into a moral issue rather than just trying to win back the states lost from the Union. It is known that the North had lost many battles and needed men to fight for the Union. So, Lincoln justified the emancipation to liberate slaves, which give them the chance to fight for the Union. This was proven to be successful, as 200,000 black men joined the Union to fight the confederacy. Moral of the Union was also low, and the Emancipation Proclamation provided the needed public support to help the Union to continue to fight the war. Also, this was done to prevent European forces from recognizing the Confederacy as its own Nation, thus preventing any possible

At the point when the provinces pronounced their freedom, numerous individuals on both sides questioned they could win the war. The British dwarfed and outgunned the Americans, and their troops were better prepared. The Americans' significant favorable position was logistic: they were battling a war on recognizable landscape. What's more, Washington's attempt at manslaughter strategies made it outlandish for the British to convey a devastating blow.
Even though slavery is supposed to be gone in the North it is still here. In a way the American economy is still reliant on the institution of slavery. The cotton being produced in the south is being transported up here so the factory workers can make goods. The argument to abolish slavery in America didn’t stop just because the Northern states were free. People now wanted the same freedom for those slaves who lived in the South. One person in particular, Fredrick Douglas, who was a former slave himself was one of the most outspoken abolitionist. He was so important in the movement because he showed that black people could be productive member of society. Not just dumb savages as a lot of white people seemed to believe. Given the chance to
During the election of 1860, Abraham Lincoln won the presidency of The United States of America despite not even being on ballots in the South. Dean Melillo, I have found a wondrous student that would be perfect for our University, his name is Lincoln Steffens. Lincoln Steffens is a famous muckraker, Who fought for political corruption, controlling the gap between rich and poor and ending Laissez-Faire. He did so, by writing hundreds of articles in multiple magazines and newspapers against cities and groups all around the country. I strongly recommend you admit Lincoln Steffens to the United States University.
How far would someone go to protect someone they love and his or herself? Go as far as murder? That is what Frank Walworth had done. As a young man taking the role as the head of the house, he would want nothing more than to keep his mother and siblings safe. On June 3, 1873, Frank asked to meet his father, Mansfield Walworth, at hotel Sturtevant House in room number 267. When Mansfield arrived a bell boy showed him to the room where his son Frank was. After entering Frank shot his father four times in different places. He immediately ran to the lobby to ask where the closet police station was stating, “I have killed my father in my room, and I’m going to surrender myself to the police.” (A Terrible Parricide) From the evidence provided It can be concluded that Frank Walworth is guilty of murdering his father, but it can be seen as an act of self-defense in order to protect his mother and his siblings, as well as himself from his threatening and abusive father.
During that summer he took many different back strengthening exercises, and in September he was accepted by the Navy. In March 1943, as a lieutenant he took command of a PT (torpedo) boat in the Solomon Islands. On the night of August 2, his boat was cruising west of New Georgia it was rammed and sunk by a Japanese destroyer. He rallied the survivors and managed to get them to an island after being thrown across the deck onto his back. He then towed a wounded man three miles through a rough journey through different seas. He was a very brave man, for several days he risked his life repeatedly, swimming into dangerous waters hoping to find a rescue ship. He finally met up with two friendly islanders and sent them for aid with a message that he carved on a coconut. Back home he received the Navy and Marine Corps Medal, and the Purple Heart, but his earlier back injury had been aggravated, and unfortunately he contracted malaria. After an operation on his back, he was discharged early in 1945.
When America joined World War I, the first men to arrive were mostly African American. African American soldiers were primarily under white commanders, and there were no instances of white soldiers serving under black commanders during the war. African American community leaders had varying opinions on what to do about the war, with some saying that even though African Americans have died in every war since the Revolutionary War no real progress has been made because of it. Others African Americans argued that even though they did not enjoy the benefit of full citizenship, they should fight anyway with their fellow citizens and allies to help defend democracy. When they arrived in Europe, more than half of them were assigned to manual labor
