Many great thinkers contributed to the recent discovery of gravitational waves. Aristotle was the first to consider gravity thinking that objects fell to the earth because it was the natural place of the object to be on the ground. Galileo decided that Aristotle’s idea needed to be tested scientifically and he discovered that objects fall with “a constant acceleration along a parabolic curve.” During the Apollo 15 mission, Galileo’s theory that all objects fall with the same speed was proved when officer David Scott held the famous feather and hammer experiment on the moon. This legend is supposedly the real reason how the laws of gravity were created but it’s not all true. The real story which was told by Isaac himself is, he was barely looking out the window when he happened to see the fruit drop. Even then, some Newton scholars think the story involving the apples was made up.

Galileo demonstrated the laws of gravity “by dropping bodies of different weights from the top of the famous Leaning Tower, that the speed of fall of a heavy object is not proportional to its weight, as Aristotle had claimed”(“Galileo”). Galileo proved that Aristotle’s theory about gravity was incorrect and that no matter what size or weight all objects fall at the same velocity(Drake 22). He also helped improve the telescope. His improvements to the telescope allowed him to view not just stars but also Jupiter's moons, spots on the sun, and the uneven rough surface of our moon in 1608.

I appreciate the the statement that Isaac Newton was able to prove incomprehensible concepts, at the time [seventeenth century], by solving, proving, and supporting theories through scientific evidence and data. Moreover, he was the first scientist to benighted in England, which publicized even more his profession and level of intelligence in the field of science and mathematics. In addition, I agree that supply-and-demand is an essential principle for an economic prosper in consideration that the higher the price of a good or service, the less people will demand it; therefore, I understand why you are conflicted between choosing the “most influential” person of the seventeenth century.
I joke, of course. Though the apple never hit my head, its perpendicular descent to the ground is what inspired me. Though I technically did not discover gravity itself, I did develop three rules that can be used to observe how gravity works. These rules are not necessarily restricted to use when observing objects falling. They are also useful when studying orbits, friction, collision, and even prove useful when developing new technologies (Gleick 37).

Gravity and its theory, is relatively new. Scientists still discover new correlations that they attribute to Gravity. Greek philosophers attributed the “natural motion” of the planets and stars as a part of the gods’ realm. They did not realize that gravity was involved until astronomers like Galileo and Brahe in the 1500s, discovered that the Earth and other planets revolved around the sun. Kepler later showed that they moved in an elliptical orbit, not in a circular pattern, which brought speculation as to why it occurred that way.
Isaac Newton was a young, charismatic, and intelligent person when he found the biggest discovery of his life. Something so important that our society would not be as advanced or as prosperous as it is right now. It all began when Newton was sleeping on the stump of an apple tree when suddenly he woke up due to an unknown object falling on his head. When he saw the apple had fallen down by an unknown force, he began to speculate the causes of the fall. After a magnitude of research, he came to the conclusion that force that pulled the apple towards the ground is also the force which keeps us rooted to the ground as well. He coined the force ”Gravity” and began researching many unknown factors about it. With the help of other scientist and researchers, the understanding of gravity grew. We began to realize that gravity has a bigger role than making an apple fall and that its role has helped keep the ocean from being in the sky to keeping the lands from floating. When they began to apply it to space, they realized that earth is round because of gravity and that we actually circle the sun due to its immense gravitational pulls. Gravity is an important aspect of the human life that can be understood by learning its history, understanding the concepts, and realizing the enormous impact it has on life.

Able to propagate through the opaque primordial universe, they could allow us to determine the initial state of the universe as well as gaining a valuable insight into physical processes that occurred at this time. There are several theoretical processes in the early universe which could contribute to this background of GWs including cosmic strings, first-order phase transitions and inflation [2][3].
