How Did Rosalind Franklin Discover The Double Helix

The discovery started with what was inside the cell, and then they dove deeper looking for what was inside of the chromosomes and that is where they found the DNA structure.

The discovery of the DNA structure because it helped us see that when we spilt the double helix it can either be passed on to off spring or use it to replicate. It also allows us to see when a genetic mutation is within the DNA. When they are mismatched then we see a mutation that can cause a disorder, illness, or something less prominent.

Rosalind Franklin was able to take an x-ray image of the DNA strand and see how it was shaped. After seeing her work James Watson and Francis Crick took her image and began researching into it. This led them to discover the double helix.
