Some of today’s most popular foods, such as potatoes, baguettes and hollandaise sauce have a story to tell in Europe’s history. Food has changed over time in Europe. Foods in Germany, France and Turkey play a huge part in their culture.

German foods and expectations have changed over time. Germany has great expectations in manners. For example, in Germany people need to have both hands on the table and no elbows. This is considered to be polite and respectful, especially in restaurants. The foods that people Germany eat changed over time, but one food that has remained the same is the potato. The potato started in Germany with King Frederick II in the 1700’s. He gave out potato seeds so that people would start growing them for themselves. Over time, people and location have been a big influence. Turkey is in the far east, next to the Mediterranean sea. This helped the Turks have full control of trade routes and took different food ideas from different countries. For example, from China and Persia, they took noodles and manti cheese. so Turkey did come of a lot of other THINGS the war time effected turkey in big way to since the fall of empire world war 1 the french hollandaise sauce and western fast food become a part in the turkish diet. Turkish cuisine now in generally not spicy they use a lot of sauces breakfast is made out of a light meal lunch is heartier meal a lot of soups vegetables and meat. Dinner is the largest meal of the day metzelers are appetizers served before dinner. So turkish food did have to do with other countries and land but still turkish food has a great history
