INTRODUCTION
The Discipline Investigation paper enables students to gain knowledge about the work they will be doing when they enter their careers, particularly how they will be using the language. I am very keen on writing this paper because it will help me to find out how Management Information System professionals interact in a company on daily basis. My audiences for this paper are my professor, classmates, and other faculty members on the LLD 100A portfolio group. A discourse community is a group of people who share the same interest, career, or other commonality. Since I am majoring in Business Administration and concentrating in Management Information Systems (MIS), I am excited to join the MIS discourse community to develop my career. In the last four years, I have gained communication experience by working as a Sales Associate. Also, I have gained

They are require to learn and know more about their company , its history and chain if any; these common goals lead the employee to perform and develop a better job to acquire a higher level position. As a linguistic John Swales says, “Discourse community will lead us to be more knowable about our career and to have a better perspective of our desire goals”. By saying so we can be more informed about our career and we can determine if that is want we want or if we can follow a different career or goal.

If you sat down and looked at me, you would not think of me being driven, or an over achiever. You thought right, but that must change. I want to achieve my dream job, which is to be a software engineer and designer. I have always wanted to work in this field. From a very young age I’ve loved computers. They have always interested me, and that is why this is my Ithaca. This goal will take a lot of hard work to get to, though. Achieving my dream occupation will be difficult, but if I maintain focus, face my fears, and work hard, I believe I can do it.

A discourse community is defined as a group of people involved in and communicating about a particular topic, issue, or in a particular field. We all belong to multiple discourse communities. To earn a position of a discourse community one must possess accurate knowledge, establish reliability of members to be accepted and learn to persuade other members of the community. The discourse community that I identify with personally and the profession I plan to pursue is the world of film production. However, there are many jobs that need to be done on a film set leading to there being multiple discourse communities within the film industry, what I want to focus on specifically is the DP, otherwise known as the “director of photography”. This paper will discuss the processes and pitfalls faced by Information Technology managers in today’s world of business. Today’s IT managers need not only be savvy about existing equipment and upcoming technology; but must also understand the budget issues they face and how to properly address them. The IT manager is asked to look into a crystal ball and predict what products will be beneficial and which requirements can be cut from the budget. They must be able to differentiate between the new shiny fad and products that will be a true asset to the company’s visions and goals. An IT budget can no longer be a static number on the company’s finance sheet; it must be a clear vision of the department’s future spending while falling in line with the goals and expectations of the company.
