Thus, I am worthy to aid others with their academic encounters (Walden University (2014c)). Similarly, in the second part of the test, I learned I have an aural learning style. Before week three, I never thought about this area. But it is true that when I listen to music while studying, I focus much better than studying in silence. The music also provides inspiration when I get tired or feel like I cannot finish an assignment (Walden University (2014 d)).Again, In the discussion this week, I learned, story’s, paintings, videos and music are all a kind of effective realism. And incorporating voices, video or descriptive words can alter how I envision a piece of work. Therefore, it is imperative to be eloquent with words. Hence, write so the reader can get the actual importance the author is trying to portray. Too, I learned that the plot of the story can be transformed exaggeratedly when technology is added.

The assigned reading of “Good Readers and Good Writers” by Vladimir Nabokov probes the subject that is the necessary attributes an individual must have in order for them to be successful readers and writers of literature. A list of ten rules is then stated in the essay and sets them as the baseline commandments that an individual must follow in order to be some kind of a devoted “good reader”. In the essay, Disliking Books at an Early Age, Gerald Graff talks about his transition from being displeased and uninterested in literature, to having intellectual discussions about it and even teaching it. He did not begin to enjoy reading until he had discussions about the books that he read, which showed him a different perspective. “Reading gives us someplace to go when we have to stay where we are,” (Cooley). Throughout our lives, reading has impacted us in many ways. Often times books give people different perspectives on their lives. People with high stress levels often find comfort in reading books to take their mind off of their concerns. Sometimes, people just need to take a step back from their lives and relax for a while; therefore, reading is a great tool. In fact, all kinds of books have also helped me become a better writer. There are many different books that have impacted me over the years.

Although English isn’t my best subject nor the most enjoyable, I can’t deny that it has been extremely valuable when it came to teaching key attitudes and beliefs and reinforcing ones which already existed. In order to comprehend more clearly, the reader must take action in active participation in attempting to cre-atively fill these gaps with the given information of the test put before him; Thereby allowing the Reader and the text to undergo a transactional process.

Before the 20th Century, literature was pretty straightforward; the narrators were reliable, the timelines were linear, and the perspective was clear, but then somebody got the idea to mix it up. This is how we got books such as The Great Gatsby and one of our class texts, Orlando. For some, this was a startling and uncomfortable transition from what used to be considered the, “normal” format which was very up front in terms of structure and voice. Others found it to be more exciting and, while it was still weird and unsettling for those people, it forced people to think more about what the books were trying to communicate, instead of just being handed the message; they had to work for it.
