How Revolutionary Was Charles Darwin A Revolutionary?

A revolutionary is an individual who either actively participates in or advocates revolution. The leaders of innovation during a certain time period frequently cause people to rethink the ideas that were considered facts. Revolutionary is the only way to describe these influential acts executed by people who, by extent of these acts, changed the way the world considered logic. During the Renaissance, the trailblazers of progression forced the world to revise the way with which they imagined human knowledge by not only creating masterpieces of art and literature, but also by challenging the beliefs that were deeply ingrained in society.

Creating the United States was not easy from the start, but instead it took much sacrifice to become what it is today. There were many factors that helped this nation grow from just the original settlers that discovered America. Some of these issues were more monumental than others, such as the political problems we faced in the beginning. Political conflict could easily be named the largest problem in early colonial history. Early colonists had to learn from other governments and face the British in order to create a society and to make that society a freer place to live in. There were many sacrifices made in order to develop the colonies and then to create a new nation from these original colonies. The colonists battled Parliament until there was a Revolutionary War. The Revolution was actually one of the biggest turning points for the colonists, and these sacrifices helped shape this nation in ways that we still see today.

By definition, a revolution is the overthrow of a suppressive government in favor of a new government, but it is also defined as a large change in society, or how it works. After the discovery of the New World by Christopher Columbus, European Nations competed in a race against one another to claim pieces of the new land. Before Columbus found this land, the sea separating the New World from Europe seemed endless. The Europeans were only interested in the land to the East. But with the New World there was so much to explore. The Europeans tossed aside their old toy to go play with a new one. During this time period of conquest throughout the New World it became known as the Age of Exploration. A New World meant more land, which meant places to build homes and plant crops, and more money to be earned by buying out new houses and selling new crops grown in foreign soil. These times of change are known as the American Revolution.

The Scientific Revolution was a period of the development of the new and modern theories of science and universe. This development took place from 16th century to 17th century. This concept was widely accepted by the people of Europe. This period changed the beliefs which were not accurate and changed the status of women in the society. Many scientists, such as Nicolas Copernicus, Johannes Kepler and Sir Issac Newton changed the European history with the help of new discoveries and knowledge and disagreement with the Catholic Church.

Charles Darwin is becoming one of the most famous scientists of this century. He has a theory that we as humans have evolved from a single celled organism to what we are now after billions of years. He has been studying aps for many years and he says they are extremely similar to humans like in their behavior if treated unfairly they will get mad. They can even do some easy tasks like give a rock to a person and they get food. As said in his famous quote “It is not the strongest of the species that survive, nor the most intelligent, but the one most responsive to change.”

The Scientific Revolution was an era where Francis Bacon, Galileo Galilei. Nicolaus Copernicus, and Johannes Kepler challenged the status quo, and where many discoveries that would change the way people thought about everything including the universe were made. Before the Scientific Revolution happened, many Europeans only believed in what the church said, but the revolution unveil new answers based on science; totally the opposite of what the church had adopted in earlier years. This period became the foundation of thinking in a different way, and the Enlightenment relied on those new perspectives to expand other theories that would forever change life.

When the British went to war with the French, the French were defeated and Great Britain gained full access over North America. After the war ended, the British were in debt and were in great need of money. They decided to obtain that money from the colonists by passing laws and acts forcing the colonists to pay taxes. The citizens of the colonies were not happy with these orders in place by Parliament, so they decided to rebel. By rebelling, the colonists received severe punishments for their actions from Parliament which eventually led to the start of the revolution. What revolutionary means is being devoted and dedicated to a change that a person wants to make happen in an establishment or organization. Being revolutionary can be seen throughout history and until now with great people making a big difference in society as historical figures such as George Washington,

The word revolutionary can be used to mean different types of changes depending on the time an event was taking place or how drastic things got compared to the ordinary daily life. An event in history that occurred that made the United States its own country was the Revolutionary War which was fought against the British. An influential figure of the Scientific Revolution is Sir Isaac Newton. He made many advancements in the field of science and mathematics, he discovered Gravity, developed the three basic laws of motion, and co-development of Calculus. Isaac Newton did several thing that positively affected the scientific community during the Scientific Revolution and still affect society today, he recognized the three laws of motion, discovered gravity, and co-developed calculus.

Charles Darwin was a scientist who discovered the origin of life through a study on the Galapagos Islands. Before Darwin’s discovery, the world was looked upon as God’s playground where everything happened because of him. For example, if something bad happened to someone’s family like a disease it would be because they have angered God. Darwin lived during the dawn of reasoning and questioning. Men were now asking “how”, and “why”, instead of just accepting it as God’s will. Charles would pave the way of how science would be seen as today and for future generations of the world to come. He showed that humans were created by chance and would change the world looked at life forever. Charles Darwin had a significantly great impact on culture, writing, and religion by showing the world that we are no longer God’s gift, things happened through probability, and the bible is not a book history.
