How Stress Affects Our Lives

“A state of mental or emotional strain or tension resulting from adverse or very demanding circumstances.” (Google) As a young person, this definition seems quite intense but in reality this is apart of many young peoples lives. It seems that in more recent years that young people today have so much more stress than in the past. We are always saying to ourselves, “I wish I could go back to elementary school” and this can start as early as middle school. It’s unbelievable how young “stress” starts to effect us on a daily basis. However if we took more time to learn about what stress can do for us we can let it effect us in a positive and beneficial manner. Stress is a state of mind, the subconscious mind which processes all our thoughts on a daily basis. Sometimes [this] builds up and we feel stress because we are being challenged to an extent that we cannot generally control in a way that is the norm for us. For some young adults stress can be a positive condition on your mind and body however for most it ends up being the opposite. These forms of stress are known as eustress and distress. Most young people will most likely find that distress is more foreign to them and this goes to show that it is the most common form of this state of mind. Eustress is the positive form of stress can give you a burst of adrenaline when dealing with a surplus of challenges in your life. This form of stress can help you accomplish goals and meet deadlines in a more timely matter. It will
