Late at night and in a gym playing a basketball game.
"Go, go!" yelled mom.
"Bang." Kate fell to the ground.
"Foul." Yelled Bob the ref.
Kate has to take two foul shots.
"Relax on the first one." yelled Bob.
Kate misses the first one but makes the second shot.
"Buzz."
"Look at the score board. We won the game!" yelled Kate.
"Good job girls." yelled Melissa.
On their way home.
"Great game!" cheered Mom.
"Thanks." said Kate.
As the cars went around her.
"Watch out" yelled Kate.
Slam into the car. The ambulance is on their way. In the emergency room.
"Can I talk to you in the hall" said Dr. Cooper.
Mom goes into the hallway.
"I have some bad news. Kate will need to have surgery on her knee" said Dr. Cooper.
"Really" moaned mom.
"Yes. I will go tell Kate" said Dr. Cooper.

It all began on November 3, 2015 during my first middle school basketball tournament. The grey brick walls of the gymnasium looking more like a prison than a school. The school’s “Lincoln Park Elementary School” sign had graffiti and missed a couple letters from the name. The court was terribly small, but we began by playing the superb team of Jam on It. We were blown out and I headed back up to my mom and dad in the parent filled stands. The game wasn’t even fun to play and we looked like third graders playing them. I looked up to my parents as sad as could be.
Sports has always been a huge part of my life. I would be the one team player who took the sports season a little bit too seriously. I was the number 1 doubles player on my school's JV tennis team. Unfortunately, I fractured my ankle during my junior year and wasn't able to play with my team. I was devastated, but I didn’t allow myself to become disconnected from my team. I became the team manager to allow myself to still play a role in my team, despite my injury. I would record scores to my division leaders and take pictures to post on the website I created for my team. After the season was over, my doctor told me my ankles required surgery to become fully healed. I knew that meant I couldn’t continue to play tennis, but I didn’t want to give
The life of being a basketball player is incredible by practicing a lot, putting in hard work and never giving up. When you play this sport you have to follow the rules while you are playing it .If you don’t follow the rules than you will have a hard time playing it. The first rule is that when you catch the ball you have to have dribble. You can only hold it for 5 seconds if the player is in distance from you. If they are really close to you, than you can hold it for how long you want but, if they are arm length to you, you have till 5 seconds to dribble. You only have one foot to move. Whichever foot you put down on the ground first then you have to keep that foot on the ground until you dribble or shoot
Basketball was my favorite sport growing up. I’ve played since I was little and I still play the game today. I played basketball at my elementary school, St. Cecilia, from Kindergarten till 8th Grade and also played AAU basketball for about 2 years before entering High School. Going into my freshmen year of High School, the first sport I played was basketball. Tryouts began in about the start of November and ended about 2 weeks after. I had made the Freshmen A team. I was excited and as the season progressed, we didn’t win many games but I still had fun playing. Nearing the end of the season, golf was another sport coming up that I also wanted to try and play. I say “try and play” because at the time, I was also going to play AAU basketball. I had set in my mind that I was going to play basketball for all of my four years of high school, but my parents pushed me to tryout for golf. When the basketball season ended, golf tryouts started. Tryouts lasted for about 2 weeks, and I made the JV team. When I found out I made the team, I was very surprised. I hadn’t put in the hard work as others before tryouts came around, but the coach saw potential in me and that I can become a great player. The coach saw so much potential in me, that every week, I kept progressing in skill and fine tuning my mechanics. Halfway through the season, about 4 or 5 weeks after I made the team, my coach gave me the chance to play with the Varsity Golf team for a couple days. I was excited and eager to
Injury is a serious public health issue. Injuries differ by their nature and severity. Injuries can be unintentional or intentional. Unintentional injuries include road traffic injuries, falls, burns, drowning, poisoning, and intentional injuries include self-inflicted injuries, interpersonal violence, and war-related injuries [1,2,3]. Globally, injury causes over five million deaths per year [1,2,3]. Injury cases result in more deaths than HIV-AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria combined (3.8 million) [1,3,4]. Nonfatal injuries represent a large proportion of the injury burden and deaths represent a small proportion [4]. Most injuries result in significant psychological trauma, potentially life-long disability, and subsequent financial loss [4].
All throughout my life I have remained involved in a wide variety of organizations including clubs, sports, youth groups, and honor societies. My free time is consumed by all of these, and still I am still willing to venture out and attempt so much more. Despite constantly contributing my life to numerous things, it is undeniable that Basketball is what I am ultimately passionate about.
Kate then popped wide awake and ran outside. Kate then had another fit and they brought her back inside while she was “senseless”. Again they take out the knife and again she suddenly wakes up saying “you’re going to cut me!”
The end of November was one of the most important days of my basketball career. I was trying out for the junior basketball team to represent this school, P.G.S.S. It was a really nervous experience for me but, I had known some people that were trying out, including one of my best friends. When the tryouts were over, I was the last one that wasn’t called up yet. In my head I was thinking,” I didn’t make it.” Then couch Troye and Jenni called me up and told me there is a spot on the team, and it is mine if I want it.
While Curran is out of town (conveniently) and no one is able to reach him, Kate have to find which member of the Pack have committed murder of one the Masters of the Dead. Kate has only 24 hours, or she and the Pack will be facing a war with the People.
Due to Katy’s weird behavior, Anny was facing lot of hardships. Katy once even got physical with her sister. Being harder for both to be together Katy decides to separate, before even hearing her sister’s decision. She right after calls doctor and talks about getting separate. She decides to have surgery after week. Jack being out of town Anny and Katy had to go alone into surgery. On day of surgery doctor makes it very clear to both that only one would be able to survive. Anny with doubtful heart agrees to Sister Katy, but wasn’t ready for surgery. Getting ready for surgery Anny was nervous where on other side Katy was happy and thought Jack will accept her after this surgery. Exactly on 12:00 Pm doctor starts his surgery and ends by 7:00pm
I had been anxiously waiting for this day for the entire week, and it finally came. My local travel basketball team was holding tryouts for the fifth grade team, and I was trying out. The entire week leading up the tryouts, I was practicing every second I could. Being on the travel team meant everything to me, because it showcased the twelve best basketball players in the grade. Previously, I had just been taking part in recreational leagues, and I found it too simple. I needed a challenge, and I knew if I played travel, that I would be playing the best players from each town.
Julia has just suffered a massive heart attack and her family is waiting in the hospital,
Kate needs Anna’s kidney and that is when the whole movie seems to come together. Anna decides, or so everyone thinks, that she wants to be medically emancipated. Anna states that she wants to be in control of her own body, and that she doesn’t want to be poked and prodded anymore. Her case is brought into court, and she is fighting it against her own
One time I could not find any sink that had cold water, so I filled the water bottles with warm water and of course Trey had to be the first one to grab one of the bottles. He just gave me a look saying seriously Theo. Also, I am part of this Basketball team. I learned through Basketball that winning is not everything, but the team is.
Growing up in Middle Georgia, sports were played year-around. There was never a down time, especially in the Thompson household. I was constantly playing a sport. Injuries were bound to happen, some worse than others. During my athletic career, two injuries were worse than others.
