In the first 5 chapters Chris describes his start in the Navy, his life at home and in war, and becoming a sniper. Chris Kyle was raised in Texas as a cowboy, who dropped out of college two months before graduation because he was accepted into the Navy Seals. Chris had to go through brutal Seal training and through this he discovered his mental toughness, and what it was like to be a Navy Seal. Eventually Chris’s dream comes true and he is placed into a seal team that goes to Iraq. The dangers frequently endured by soldiers fighting for the United States is immense. Hundreds of men and women are killed daily by terrorists. Many soldiers give up their dreams to fight for their country because they feel endangered every day by extremist groups and other terrorists. Over the summer I read American Sniper I felt this book was a perfect fit for me I'm very pro military. I thought it would be a very interesting read since he was the most lethal sniper the US military has ever seen.
During his ten years of serving as a Navy SEAL, Chris Kyle killed 160 Iraqi insurgents as well as liberating Iraq from the clutches of Saddam Hussein. Chris stated, “It was my duty to shoot and I don’t regret it.”(American Sniper p. 3). He knew that every kill he made was for the right reason and that if he didn’t take out the terrorists, they would have killed the soldiers. Although during the war his relationship with his wife, Taya, was rocky, Chris came home in order to prioritize his family once again and rebuild a relationship with them.

I adore reading autobiographies like American Sniper by Chris Kyle because I enjoy learning another person’s perspective of life and what kind of obstacles they have over to get to the position that they are in. I also enjoy reading political articles from websites like CNN for example because I relish researching what is happening in the United States and around the world and how the economy is structurally running. I prefer writing argumentative essays because I savor trying to influence others why I am above them in certain topics. I am a visual learner and would like to be a part of unified environment which I can work alongside small groups in order to accomplish team tasks. The sniper then cried over his brother's dead body and took his dog tag.While this was happening the rest of the snipers allies came to the aid of him to help with his wound, not knowing he was crying, because of the death of his brother. They took the sniper back to their base and there his wound was treated. Later, since they won that battle they had a celebration. The sniper was still sad, because he killed his brother, but he still celebrated with the rest of the soldiers. No one notice that the sniper was sad except his best friend.
So you finally hit rock bottom of the sniper world huh? Well no worry after you read this that K/D ratio of 0.23 will be at minimum of 5. A great scout must be clever enough to choose the best station for his work. He also needs to know how to utilize his tools to the best of their limits. He must always know when to move out to minimize his risk of death. Lastly which is the most obvious a good eye.
