Ancient Rome. Where everything almost leads to here. Rome was the start in many things but this essay will lead back to their time and how they conquered so many places and what they did to make their empire great with strength and what was this thing they had you say, well what it is is their military.. The military was a great source for conquering places, violence, using great strategies, wars, and leaders to control.
Rome had many leaders that help lead Rome to new heights and power expanding Rome. All leaders/generals were very known and this will tell you some of them. Julius Caesar was born on July 12, 100 B.C saying he was a descendent of Trojan prince Aeneas. He fought many wars and battles and made a lot of alliances becoming dictator of Rome afterwards. He lived ruling for a while until he was assassinated by the senate or some of the senate in his chamber. He was remembered and his death was remembered having the name Ides of March also known as March 15. The Roman army used a sword called the Gladius also called the Hispanic sword. It is the iconic weapon in the Roman army. In combat the gladius could be used for stabbing or slashing, although it was primarily used for stabbing. This sword served as the main weapon of Rome. The next weapon is called the pilum. In the play, The Tragedy of Julius Caesar, William Shakespeare shows how friends often betray each other. Julius Caesar is about to be crowned king of Rome, when some well-known Romans decide that it is not a good idea for this to happen. They form a conspiracy and kill Caesar. Brutus, an honorable Roman and a very good friend of Caesar’s, betrays Caesar by killing him for the good of Rome. Antony, Caesar’s best friend and another honorable Roman, betrays Brutus by turning against the conspirators. Cassius, a respected Roman, and Brutus betray each other by arguing and destroying their friendship. All this betraying lead to many deaths in the play.

Julius Caesar is unwilling to believe several warnings that could have saved his life, Julius Caesar ends up being murdered after ignoring all of the warnings, everyone has a different view of Julius Caesar. Throughout history many civilizations and empires have been considered great. The greatest empire ever was Ancient Rome. Ancient Rome started off as a small town on central Italy’s Tiber river and ended up expanding all the way to most Europe, Britain, much of western Asia, Northern Africa and the Mediterranean islands (Ancient Rome). Ancient Rome helped spread many languages, the western alphabet, the modern calendar and the religion of christianity all around the globe (Ancient Rome). Society creates expectations of what the individual is expected to look like in the physical and mental state as well as his achievements which affects the way people look at life. The driving forces in the play Julius Caesar are the characters Marcus Brutus, Julius Caesar, and Marc Antony. Julius Caesar is the center of the ordeal of leadership in Rome when the play begins. When Caesar returns to Rome he is looked upon by the fickle plebeians as a glorious and triumphant hero. The authority of his heroism is questioned when the honorable Marcus Brutus speaks to the townspeople during Caesar’s funeral. Brutus proves to be the better leader for Rome rather than Caesar or Antony. Brutus is wiser and more honorable than the other Romans. He was the only one truly looking out for the good of Rome and not himself.
