“Speech?” blurted Philip.
“Uh, what was that, sir? Oh, yes, if you haven’t prepared an acceptance speech, you needn’t worry. We will have someone introduce you and all you need to do is explain the reasons behind your work, what drove you, and how it makes you feel to have done it. I am sorry if you did not get the message about the speech, but I am more than confident you will be able to produce one without problems,” said the man.
Philip’s heart sank. He was never very good in front of crowds. He decided he would just have to wing it. It would need to be short and sweet. He would say, ladies and gentlemen of the jury…wait, no. Ladies and gentlemen, I am honored that my work has been honored in such a way…wait, too many honoreds…crap, thought Philip, flustered.
“Step this way, please,” said the dapper man, as he began lining the winners up one-by-one. Philip didn’t recognize a single winner. He had never even heard of them, which he found distinctly odd, since they were all in the same field.
“Oh, Admiralor Simpson and Admiralor Charles, it is a pleasure to meet you both. The procession will be starting any moment,” said the dapper man.
“Thank you,” said Admiralor Charles dryly.

I only hope to be an example for those who wish to make a difference in the galaxy. It is important to maintain a zeal for knowledge and to explore the unexplored, to learn from our mistakes, and to grow from them. As a member of this society, who has never reached the stars myself, I can only imagine the wonders that are before us now. I continued with my research in the hopes of creating a better life for those on the colonies. And, perhaps someday my research can be used to sustain planets for the sole purpose of growing food and maintaining clean water facilities for the future of our species. Thank you,” said Philip confidently. He glanced at the crowd and saw Jack beaming with approval. Philip’s nerves were at ease, as he walked back to his
I’m currently sitting in my room thinking about how great these two weeks with you were. Thank you so much for all the memories and fun times. I will always hold them very close to me. My god, it has only been a couple hours since you left and I already miss you so much. You have made me immensely happy, I cannot express that enough. I only hope to make you as happy as you make me. I know we are both still young, but no matter what happens or where life takes us, I know for a fact that I will always love you. You have taught me so much and I will forever be grateful for that.
I stood there in anticipation, speech in hand, facing the crowd. Then, I ripped apart the speech, but I had no worries about the paper. After all, I had already memorized the whole speech. At that moment, my goal was to inspire people with my speech. I had never thought I would be able to stand there in the gaze of a giant audience.
"All Rise," Mistress Meryl announced after the Royals had been seated and ready to proceed. She then continued to welcome everyone, "My Lords and Ladies, Knights, and Courtiers, and honored visitors from the Outer Bailey this aft, welcome to this session of Royal Court. It has been some eight moons since our last Royal Court was held and I know you are all eager to see the results of this Court's petitions. These will be pending shortly, of course, but first I would cede the floor to Her most benevolent Royal Majesty, and Her Royal
Assuredly, I gracefully walked into the room and proceeded to shake hands with the judges. I then took my place in the center of the stage to begin my speech. I started with a striking catch phrase “Today I am going to tell you about an important date of mine……” Much to the judge’s relief they soon learned I was not talking about a date with a guy, but my first day of volunteering in my community. One judge appreciated my since of humor, however the other two judges remained solemn throughout the presentation. At the conclusion of my speech, I paused, smiled and exited the room. I remember thinking, although I could not articulate what impression I had left on the judges, I walked with confidence knowing I had executed my speech to the best of my
Legacy: I would like to thank all of my family, friends, teachers, and coaches who have supported me throughout high school. I would like to Kip and Julie Johnson, my parents. Thank you for everything that you have done for me. No matter how hard I was on you guys, you never gave up on me. You always knew that I could do better and constantly encouraged me to do so. I would also like to say a special thanks to my girlfriend Bekka. You have always been there for me since the 9th grade when we started dating. You always helped me with any of my work that I had sturggled with. I appreciate you always telling me that I could do better, even though I was lazy. Thank you for always supporting me, love. I would next like to thank all my friends: Tyler, Hugo, Ed, Casey, Tristan, James,
Good morning Aphrodite. I may not have much to say, and I'm sorry for that, but the stuff I do have to say.. I hope it'll make you smile.
His eyes were glued to the remote dimple on the side of her cheek. It was his way of containing the boyish grin that illuminated his face when she spoke. He stared adoringly, until Jinora's hand found the top of his. Kai stepped forward and he took a fortifying breath.
Good morning baby! I just wanted to give you something cute to wake up to, so here i am. I really hope that this will be able to put a smile on that cute face of yours. You are so unbelievably caring and kind and just flat out amazing. You deserve so much more than what you actually receive but then again, you are so young and you have such an amazing life ahead of you and hopefully, i will be able to see it as well. You just need to keep doing what you love and no matter what happens or whatever it may be, i’ll always be here for you. Not a day that passes by that i don’t feel blessed to have you. This is going to sound corny but i honestly do think that us meeting again may have been fate. I don’t like to think about what happened between us 6 months ago but i don’t want to ignore it because it happened and nothing can change that. But the point is, is that my love grew for you. And it continues to grow. Every single day when i talk to you i feel so complete and i feel like i really found the one. My love grows for you more and more every time that we talk.
When it was brought to my attention that I was selected to give a speech, I freaked out. Throughout my four years of high school, and most definitely before that, I have loathed all of the moments where I had to speak in front of others. I could never seem to make those butterflies in my stomach dissipate and I would zoom through my presentation. This transpired whenever I presented, and, as my former English teacher Ms. Keisha Tooks-Riley put it, I would always ‘take that L.’ However, standing here, I hope to turn that L into a W today.
Distinguished guests, those of dubious distinction and those of no distinction, family, relatives, in-laws and outlaws, young and old, friends, friends of friends, freeloaders and hangers-on – let me extend a warm welcome to Meradith and Naren’s wedding reception celebration.
hi. hello. welcome. i would like to introduce you to your incredibly adoring and caring girlfriend. not that you really need introducing considering we have been dating for nine months. however, it is i, aurora anne goetsch. and because i am the kind and considerate love i so suddenly declared a few moments ago, i am under the impression you had a rough night. unfortunately, i live roughly a billion and five miles away so i can't exactly run and scoop you up into my arms. however, i can attempt to bring a smile to your pretty little face through the classic and ever reliant use of words. so without further or do, for you my love.
Later that day, we all gathered at the chamber, some of us were apprehensive to be on the stage to present our speeches. All too fast it was my turn and I got to say that I actually did a great job. I was a nervous wreck but managed to present my case with a calmness in my voice. I could feel everyone’s eyes on me as they listen carefully to what I had to say. Surprisingly, I didn’t fail, though I didn’t get to say all of what I had on my paper since there was a time limit. I still ended at a good part, it even sounded like it was supposed to be the end of my speech.
Good Morning Haley aka Stephanie. I'm so grateful you've been my friend. I feel so comfortable around you and feel like I can talk to you aboit anything whether it's aliens saying aye lmao or your thoughts on religion. It just feels easy and comfortable. I know out friendship hasn't always been normal especially since I liked you in 8th grade which probably made it awkward and then we didn't talk for a while but anyways thanks for sticking with me and dealing with all my shit. I know I can be annoying and mean sometimes and I'm sorry you. You deserve a better friend but thanks for sticking with me anyways. Also stop being so hard on yourself, you always say that you'll never get a boyfriend or no one finds you attractive and it's just silly
Hello. Good evening to all. As the eldest daughter of Fortuneboy Villalobos, I just want to share my insights regarding about the news I learned from my father. He was hesitant at first to tell it to me, due to how it would affect me. To the person, who knows exactly who she is, who started all of this dilemma. I am utterly devastated on what you did. Try to think, I am only 19 and you're in your mid-twenties but it looks like I am more mature than you are. And I heard that you're a guidance counselor? How can you guide younger minds when you, yourself, needs to be guided. If you're intellectual enough to think, with all these humiliation and posting degrading stuff. What would it benefit you? For what? Shame on you. Lastly, I hope the admins
