Hunting not only provides people with healthy organic meat, it is also instrumental in the management and preservation of wildlife not only through the hunting itself, but also by the money generated by hunters that is used for this purpose. Hunting has existed since the dawn of time and continues to play a key role in providing people with the food they need to survive. Hunting plays many important roles in our world and has been a very effective tool for wildlife management and hopefully will continue to be. Hunting plays a vital role in the conservation of wildlife. Many anti-hunters will say it “damages the environment” and that, “it does not help wildlife at all”. In reality, without hunting wildlife and the environment would both suffer greatly. This can be clearly seen in the elk population in North America. In 1907 only 41,000 elk remained in North America. Thanks to the money and work invested by hunters to restore and conserve their habitat, over 1 million elk now inhabit North American today. Another way that hunting helps with conservation, is that it generates great deal of income in which a large majority of goes towards land management for the animals.
