The death of a young African American male in 1955 haunted the south and the African American society. Images of Emmett Till hanging in a tree were plastered on television and in newspapers for Joseph McNeil, Ezell Blair Jr., Franklin McCain, and David Richmond to see while attending North Carolina A & T College in 1960. These four African American men would soon become known as the Greensboro Four after instigating a sit-in at a Woolworth’s store in Greensboro, North Carolina. Their courage and determination ignited a movement to end segregation not only in their state but across the nation. History was being made that day as the young men sat at the counter, customers inside watching as the events unfolded, and the impact of this incident permeating across American’s eyes.
In many ways, the hospital system in America is set up mirroring our government. They are similar in the way that checks and balances have been set in place to ensure the best possible care is delivered to patients. With these checks and balances there are three main bodies; the governing board, medical staff, and executive management (Showalter, 2017). The duties and responsibilities of each body many times is to oversee and continually check the others. A prime example of this system can be seen through the case of Moore v. The Board of Trustees of Carson-Tahoe Hospital, which took place in Nevada and was heard before the Supreme Court of the state in 1972 (Moore v. Board of Trustees of Carson-Tahoe Hospital, 1972). Specifically, in this case, the duty of the governing board to “exercise reasonable care in selecting and retaining medical staff” is questioned in contrast with the right of the physician to have “due process… when disciplinary action is taken” (Showalter, 2017). In hopes of changing a decision by the governing board, and attempting to reverse the decision of a lower court, the appellant, Dr. Moore, brought the case against Carson-Tahoe Hospital (Moore v. Board of Trustees of Carson-Tahoe Hospital, 1972).

All elements in this domain scored a five. The VHA focuses on diversity and disparities among Veterans. The comprehensive electronic health record captures demographic information, such as race, ethnicity, language on the initial visit to the facility. This information can then be viewed in the first pane of the patient chart. Although English is the primary language, an interpreter can be made available if necessary. Those patients who are hearing impaired are provided with an interpreter fluent in sign language. Multiple programs are available to Veterans who are underserved. A series of questions are reviewed with the patient annually, with the goal of identifying the Veteran’s needs. These questions focus on routine health care, as well

The three methods of project delivery are:
The first approach would involve a discussion between the System Board, Medical Staff Leadership and the local Congressional Representatives. A discussion between the diverse community based hospital directors, the medical staff and the Legislative Representatives to expressing a broad based concern over the rule making process and its effect on the hospital and the community would be powerful. The participation of the board is essential. This discussion focuses the issue not only on the hospital but, on the effect of the penalties on the health systems ability to meet the healthcare need of the community. This meeting will require education of the System Board and the medical staff. The emphasis need to be the importance of the system as a community asset. The penalties not only have a potential effect on the healthcare system but, also effect the community the system serves.

The Houston Texans performance against the Kansas City Chiefs wasn’t pretty Saturday afternoon. In the Texans 30-0 blowout loss to Kansas City, Houston failed to establish an effective running game behind running back Alfred Blue, and Texans quarterback Hoyer never got in a rhythm throwing the ball.

I went to my supervisor and asked for advice on how to go about volunteering my time there. Thanks to her connections, she was easily able to arrange this for me by contacting someone affiliated with the facility. Upon my arrival, I was given a tour of the building and prompted to help those in the administration office by packing envelopes. Due to privacy laws, I was unable to physically interact with their patients. However, I take great pride in knowing that I did what I could to help an organization that focuses on providing exceptional, accessible care for others, regardless of a patient’s ability to
This essay aims to examine the role of the mayor in regards to the politics of local government in Ontario. The process of the development of public policy has shifted considerably during the last few decades. Due to the advent of globalization and of social media, public sector decision making has expanded to include more stakeholders than ever before. As a result, mayors have come under significant pressures to engage not only political actors in decision making, but also communities and individuals as well, which changes the way that they operate in their public role. I have heard that a program called the "Keep Baldwin Park Beautiful" has been using Code Enforcement in order to get the aid of residents to keep their property under acceptable sanitary management. However, though I do not know how long the enforcement has been around since it has only affected me recently, I still find some of the requirements to be overextended of boundaries and would like to clear up the matter to be safe. For instance, the letter I have recently received requires that I must remove a detachable garage due to Baldwin Park's Municipal Code 153.040.070. However I do not see a problem with the code, unless it was either 1) The condition of the structure itself, however, that must be decided by the Director of Community Development,
