Hyatt Hotels Corporation is a US hospitality company that operates various hotels both domestically and internationally. Hyatt has twelve brands and each brand falls under a segment which includes luxury, premium, lifestyle, modern essential, all inclusive, and vacation ownership. Hyatt does not have many hotels compared to other hotel brands, yet still leads the industry in many ways. When they open a hotel they pride themselves, and know is about quality, not quantity. Their recent international openings show how their brand is unique all over the world. In 2012 Hyatt had over 490 hotels worldwide. They are recognized for taking care of the customer and taking care of the employee. They are number 47 for the 100 Best Companies to Work For. The SIC code for Hyatt is 7011 and the NAICS code is 721110, Hyatt operates in the hotel industry. In the graph below we see the increase in net sales and gross profit as years go by, except in the fifth year, the fifth year was a decrease for the hotel industry. Much of the decrease can be contributed to the competition, and new companies offering low prices to customers.
