Many people utilize verbal communication, others prefer to do it by writing their feelings. Either way, the objective of this is to communicate their ideas, feelings and even a way to event impulse a movement. In addition, people utilize this forms of communication to express their most deep secrets or the most traumatic events that may have to affect their life. In every society, we can see how people can be part of a change, either in a positive or in a negative way. The decisions that are taking on a daily basis can possibly affect others within society. In the same matter, the decisions that people take can have a deep impact on their emotional state and the way they present their selves in society. On her poem, Brooks writes “I joined the wild and killed him / with knowledgeable unknowing … And seeing. / I did not take him down” (510). In this quote, the writer expresses, how by not acting the character became an accomplice of the event and after realize that a sense of guilt enveloped her. After analyzing this quote, we see how by ignoring the previous events that happen in that alley and not react to it before. Equally, in Hughes’s poem, he writes “I tire so of hearing people say/let things take their course / Tomorrow is another day / I do not need my freedom when I’m dead / I cannot live on tomorrow's bread” (515). In this passage, the writer expresses how he can wait for things to change, how people need to act to promote a positive change on people mind and the way they behave. Once we review the content of the quote we can see how by acting in order to start a change that can improve the lifestyle of the people that can benefit them. After analyzing both quotes we see how important is to take the right decision which in many cases may be to take action in an effort to stimulate a positive change in the way people react to different scenarios. In the first quote becoming one more of the “wild” and not stepping up and take the decision to expose the event that continuously happened in that alley make them feel guilty of the latest event.
