He was dressed professionally, wearing a suit, tie, and dark black overcoat. His glasses falsely spelled “nerd.” He was short, or at least shorter than I. I’d say he was in his late thirties, but who knows? I returned to playing Minecraft, a video game released the previous year. Then, out of the corner of my eye, I saw the man approach me.
He walked straight for me, no doubt about it. I tried to act calmly but couldn’t restrain my heart’s rapid beating. I wiped a bead of sweat from my forehead, glanced to my left flank. Is he coming to speak with me? I wondered. He had to be. I prepped myself mentally for what he would say. Time slowed to a crawl. I should have brought along the Book. I needed something to help me lead him down the

Then I transformed into the Mac Evangelist. I felt my muscles bulge and my body rise to full height. Clad in a black suit with a rainbow cape, I was off to save a lost soul!
Then I blanked. Where should I start? Apple’s beginnings, in Steve Jones' garage? Or John Wright’s resignation from Pepsi-Cola to join Apple? Or, perhaps, the Macintosh project? Then again, the release of System 7 was another good issue. Of course, I could go for an Upton Sinclair-style muckraking speech, portraying the values and integrity of Apple versus the corruption of the “Wintel” demons. I then realized that the lost sheep was waiting.
“I definitely think Macs are better than PCs. They’ve got superior hardware, just-as-good or better software, and are far more reliable. I’ve used Macs for eight years and have always been happy with Apple.” I paused, preparing “convert-a-PC-user” arguments. I dreamed of the masses packed into the Apple section of CompUSA, listening to me spread the good news. I envisioned Steve Jobs commending me at MacWorld-New York for my efforts and converting thousands of PC users to the light side of the Force. Then I returned to my sermon. “Macs have consistently been faster, more reliable, stronger, easier to use, and cooler than PCs. For instance, the processor in this Mac (I pointed to the PowerMac next to me) is far superior to any Pentium
Apple Has definitely surpassed our expectations in portable tablets and computers when it comes to design, features, and not to mention practicality. It is one of the most known computer companies around the world, and perhaps the most appealing especially to young students who want to keep track of their work consistently. It seems that Apple has beaten Microsoft in the war of advanced and reliable operating systems. Apple has certainly changed many people’s views on computers and made them realize how strong and reliable their products are. Although Macintosh was around since the 1990’s, most people at that time had a Microsoft operating system computer. To attract people and convince them that their product was “different” they had to come up with an appealing and compelling advertisement. That’s when they made the “Think Different” commercial; the creator produced an appealing advertisement through the effective use of the ethos, pathos, and historical appeal.
In the world of computers, the choice of systems can be a complicated one. There are two competitors out there, PCs and Macs. Everyone has their own opinion on which is better, and there are many die-hard fans in each camp. The truth is, PC 's are far more popular, and for good reasons, yet the Mac system is actually the more durable and useful of the two.
In contemporary society, it is almost impossible to imagine someone who lives without a computer. The advancement of computer technology in all facets of the world substantially grew to the point where everyone needs a computer to carry out their everyday life. Computers have gained significance as they have improved the efficiency and productivity of work done. Computers have not only become a common accessory, but a necessity as well. With the overwhelming demand for computers and their functions, the question ‘what kind of computer should I purchase?’ ripens. In 2006, Apple sought to answer that question. In that year, Apple launched their first “Get A Mac” commercial. The first year of the campaign produced 19 ads. After 4 years the campaign
Admittedly, Macs were in the market first, and initially were much better than PCs. But it’s time to realize the future of home computing: the PC. Although Macs are not completely useless, PCs dominate the world of computers with a better user interface, cheaper price, and better internal workings. These advantages far outweigh any little extra features that a Mac might have.
I definitely agree with the studies between Mac and PC users, Mac users being the “snobs” or more so the people who care for their image. In my opinion, back when this study was conducted actual computer usage, along with pros and cons of either, the PC or the Mac were disregarded. Instead, imagine and whats in style was taken into account. Mac’s were the new thing, the new technology, the new in. Everywhere you looked from advertisements, to the computers used on TV shows were Macs, or looked like Apple’s Macs like the identical “Pear” computer on iCarly. Mac computers became the new trend that everyone wanted to follow, or at least anyone who cared to fit in, who cared about their image. These were the same people that whitened their teeth
The debate between whether to buy Macintosh or buy a PC has been ongoing since Microsoft first introduced Microsoft Windows in November 1984. Apple Macintosh had developed its first personal computer, mouse and graphical user interface (GUI) in January of 1984. The debate has grown and has been the subject of many articles and even is the main high light of various websites. This frequently heated debate has even been compared to the Pepsi vs. Coke debate (Derene, 2009). While the rhetoric has continued the differences between these products has actually lessened, making it possible for some applications to be shared. Even the
However, he seemingly failed to acknowledge my effort, and slowly stood, erecting his two legs under his own, weary power. His face was tired in appearance, though not terribly exhausted, with dark circles that drooped from the base of his eye sockets, to the peaks of his high, defined cheekbones. The man had a distinct face, not a face that would be easily forgotten, with a defined jawline and general bone structure and scruffy facial hair, of which displayed to the naked eye that he probably hadn’t shaved in roughly a week. His attire was rugged, of which consisted of what used to be a white button-down shirt, that had, then, been stained with dirt and grass, a pair of black pants, with a rip down the seam of his left leg, and closed-toe shoes in which his toes were then free to breathe the frigid air against their will. He stared blankly into my eyes for a few moments, as cattle does in the presence of life; and I supposed he was trying to assess who I was from my physical appearance, and why a stranger would approach him in the fashion that I did, or at all, for that matter. Therefore, I broke the silence by way of vocalization, in attempt to ease the
I composed myself before facing the bumbling fool, intent on giving him a sound what for – only to discover a ruggedly attractive man standing before me. Rendered speechless, I couldn’t help but peruse the fine specimen, admiring the rakish five o’clock shadow defining his masculine jaw, noting the snug way his shirt stretched over powerful muscles, and aware of the dark, enigmatic air clinging to him. Finally, I snapped to the fact I blatantly stared at him, mute and immobile, and likely appearing a bumbling fool
“Hello, I 'm a Mac... and I 'm a PC” But who are you? You have been listening to the quirky duo fight for almost two years now, but have you picked a side, are you still on the fence or could you not be bothered? The twosome at the forefront of the ‘Get a Mac’ campaign have made it far from easy to ignore, in fact this campaign is proving to be one of a kind. This contemporary campaign has broken barriers and garnered success economically, culturally and internationally all the while reinforcing its brand and image through advertising tactics despite falling subject to scrutiny. As much as the goal of the campaign is to increase market share, but more importantly it is trying to create a buzz in the non-technical audience (both PC and MAC users). The campaign is aimed to induce feelings of thrill and pleasure in the users of a MAC and sort of envy feelings in PC users. The campaign is further educating the audience regarding the basic stereotypes which exist for the MAC and enforcing them in some cases and counter enforcing them in some cases.
One of the main topics that PC users will use to argue against Macs is that they are overpriced and underpowered. In other words, users could buy an apple computer for two-thousand dollars, but also buy a PC at equal quality valued at around seven-hundred to a thousand dollars. What these users do not take into consideration is the superior build quality of an apple computer
Someone was coming, and was coming towards him. He was beginning to become of afraid of the person coming towards him as he did not know who it is nor did he know if that person has any ill intentions.
"You don 't know me, or my life for that matter...now if you 're looking for my father, he 's right down the hall, take a right and you 'll see a red door. It 's his study, he spends half his time in there." I turn away for a moment, only to turn back around to see him still standing there, arms crossed and studying me. The man was quite tall, a black hat and suit to match, he had given off quite a strange feeling and made me feel like he knew all of my secrets. "I am not here for your father Willow, I 'm here
I burst out of the room and down the hall only to be running down the street of the hospital. My feet, taking me as fast as they could take me. I ran into a man and spilled his coffee all over his formal white button-up shirt. In guilt, I chose not to look up for about a minute as the poor man was cleaning his jacket of the leftover coffee that was still dripping off of him. I slowly looked up at the man. He looked like he was in his mid 20’s. He was tall, skinny but buff. He had darker skin tone his eyes were mesmerizing like the sun. He had thick black curly hair.
In 1984, Apple discharged a TV plug which presented the Apple Macintosh amid the broadcast of Super Bowl XVIII by CBS, with implications to George Orwell's prominent novel, Nineteen Eighty-Four. The business was gone for making individuals consider PCs, distinguishing the easy to understand interface as a PC which left from past business-situated frameworks, and turning into a mark representation of Apple items
