Drivers Ed is a very important class that everyone should take some time in their life. Public schools should offer Drivers Ed courses to all students of the appropriate age. Many students would benefit greatly from having this option in their high school years. Saving time, learning in a well-known environment and being with your friends and classmates are excellent reasons why Drivers Ed should be offered in all public schools in Manitoba.

III. Credibility- I found these statistics along with other information on drivinglaws.org and various other sites.
“In the hands of an impaired driver, a vehicle becomes a murderous weapon.” ( ) Everyone can think of someone who has driven impaired, or even maybe you have done it yourself. The fact that one can think of someone who has driven impaired is a problem. Too many people are getting behind the wheel after drinking, smoking; or are not paying attention while they drive. Impaired driving continues to a problem although strides have been made to make a difference. There are many different types of impaired driving, each that have their own consequences. These types, and consequences will be explored in this essay.
As you all know, getting a head start in life is not an easy task. Obstacles are notorious for popping up when we least expect and even when we are utterly unprepared. Often at times, I have overheard my fellow students asking, "why do we need school?" The answer I have personally come up with is that school is and was designed to prepare students for the real world. A large portion of students of Selinsgrove Area High School, myself included, do not have access to Driver Educational classes, or commonly known as Driver's Ed. The reason I bring this up is that if the purpose of school is to prepare oneself for adulthood and one of the vital necessities a young adult must be acquainted with is the ability to drive an automobile, then why is Driver's Ed not a given class here?
An extreme number of research and data have pointed out that teens are not equipped with safe driving skills. These numbers have lead to countless arguments between teens and adults. All though teens are more interested in their phone then a car they still have a desire to get onto the road. The car offers an immense amount of self conscious and maturity to a teen. This is one of the main points as to why teens are so eager to get out on the road as soon as possible. If and when they do get on the road they look right past the consequences that may occur with driving at such a young age. Without a doubt teenage drivers are very inexperienced when it comes to their first trips on the road because the only prior training they can get is practice

Teens need to be taught that driving is a task that is complex and demanding. Parents know how much experience a young driver has, and they know exactly how inconvenient it is when they have to drive with their teen everywhere while they have their permit. Teens tend to cause most traffic accidents in adults’ eyes. They are not experienced yet, and often fail to pay attention to others on the road. They often think of a car as being some type of toy, but they do not know how powerful it really is. The driver education programs must be strengthened in order to make sure that students really have safer habits, behind the wheel experience, and by having a better understanding of all the laws on the road.
“ Everyone makes mistakes.” This was a phrase that continuously played in my head while tears rolled down my face. I was thirteen years old and had recently been practicing driving with my dad in our church parking lot. I believed I was the poster child for safe driving. I never drove too fast, hit any cones or made my dad scared for his life while riding with me. After another great driving lesson with my dad, I worked up the courage to ask my dad if I could park my mom’s car in the garage. This seems super trivial but I knew if I did it and my dad recorded my great parking job I would earn some cool points with some of the kids in my class. After ten suspenseful seconds, my dad finally answered my question and let me park the car. I was ecstatic and already filled with pride. I made sure to drive slow so my dad could get some great footage of me driving. My foot stepped on the brake but for some reason the garage wall kept getting closer and closer. I had made the biggest mistake. I had stepped on the gas instead of the brake. Just as the wall began to fall, so did the tears from my eyes. I jumped out of the car and tried to clear off some of the bricks from my mom’s car. As I tried cleaning it off, the rest of the wall came crashing down just as I knew my life was going to when I had to tell my mom what happened. My dad ran over to make sure I was okay and began to try and comfort me, assuring me that everything was an easy fix. Although I appreciated the mercy my dad
One of the greatest things that teenagers look forward to is getting their driver¡¦s licence and getting the freedom to do whatever they want. Ever since graduated licensing began five years ago, on April 1,1994, many people have made good and bad comments about it.
