If Switzerland is neutral, then best declare Stan Wawrinka a foreign object.
A world away from the grassy expanses of the Swiss hills, a human destruction unit in the form of the twenty-eight year old is alive and kicking, unexpectedly painting the town red.
Not one would have thought a top ten journeyman never seen within the confines of the big four a title prospect. A quarter-final here, a semi-final there, maybe. A final - possibly, at a very long stretch, that is. But to win . . . well, nooooo.
Not last year, not this year nor any year for all eternity. But then what does he go and do? Yep, you guessed it, win a grand slam title in Melbourne. And against none other than the incomparable Rafael Nadal, too.
There is nothing neutral,

Regardless, the dream never faded.
One image longed for and one image longing to escape the grasp of a dreams reality. That dream elongated for such an age, to shut away the lonely hope amid a career meandering to such a lowly stage for one so talented.
Twenty-eight, no spring chicken but success still in its infancy. To cap the bolt and lock the vault and catapult the bent within a colt.
A long time coming and over the hump. The belief of a champion in waiting surging through the arteries of desire.
Oh how much he wanted success. Perseverance became him.
Thomas Berdych, one more set than the least and tamed. A finalist named. Yet another Swiss fighting the good fight for the might of a grand slam title - And nothing express in sight. Against none other than the greatest of all time; Rafael Nadal.
The ultimate invite awaited him. To which that was gleefully accepted. Up amongst the titans of the sport, in a titanic battle with the peer of all peers. To fear and care and with the unfettered wings of a soulful goal so near, the tether of the nearly man was cast aside.
That, he did. The freedom to express his bent upon a world and introduce the dent of success within his own mind.
That was January, in the Australian Open. So long ago, yet success was sated and clung to him for all its worth.
Fast forward to April, and number three on the planet, for now, and a win on clay in last week's Monaco Masters. The best of the best were there. Nadal, Federer, Djockovic

Limb length has a significant role to play in the success of the tennis serve which can evidently be seen in that over the last few decades the sport of tennis has had few professional players that are shorter than 180cm (McLester & St.Pierre, 2008, p 240).
Main Point 2: Tennis has been played all over the world for centuries, getting more popular as time goes along. It has evolved in many different ways, and continues to do so.
No one could have predicted his incredible impact on both the game of golf and the society as a whole. Between spending time at the Tiger Woods Foundation and his awesome mastery of the elusive golf stroke, Tiger is well on his way to becoming an American icon along with Muhammad Ali, Michael Jordan, Wayne Gretsky, Emmitt Smith, and many more sports heroes. In an interview, Michael Jordan said," Tiger will succeed and expand across all racial barriers. I admire him for establishing a higher plateau, a higher ground, if you will. I really do believe he was put here for a
Bobby Riggs, who was formerly ranked the number one tennis player in the world, challenged King to a match (Lankhof). Although it was somewhat of a publicity stunt and Riggs was well past his prime at the age of 56, the game symbolized all that King had been working for throughout her career. More than 30,000 people watched in the stadium and fifty million others viewed from their televisions. King recalls, “I knew I had to win. I knew that we had worked so hard and that if Billie Jean King didn’t win that everything we had worked so hard for, for two and a half years, would go up in smoke in two and a half hours” (Calabria).
Tomic’s action was so swinish that even Novak Djokovic, the entitled, weather complaining, women’s equal winnings bashing, best player in the world buffoon, realized it was wrong. On Tomic’s need for maturity, Djokovic said, "The sooner the better for him, because he is still relatively young and he can definitely be a better player and better ranked than he is now. Everybody knows that. He knows that. But he doesn't seem to really get things the right way off the court."
“I’ve got high hopes for this season, I really believe that we can push a lot of teams this year; the sky is the limit with this group.”
Serena Williams is out of the French open with an injury. After one week at the French Open Serena Williams stopped short on Monday. This was because of an injury to her right pectoral muscle which made her withdraw shortly before her fourth round match against Maria Sharapova. She feels as of she cannot serve, which makes it hard to play if she cannot even start each play. This is only the second time that she has withdraw while in the middle of a tournament, the first was in Wimbledon in 1998 after injuring her left leg. This is Willam’s
Serena’s name a finally landed her the 304th ranking out of 350 spots. In that same year, she beat multiple players, including the 4th and 8th ranking spot, and made it to the semi finals all in one season. It is safe to say, no one was expecting her to beat two top ten players and move up to top 20 players within nine months. Everyone was sleeping, including venus, until Serena would play the number one ranking tennis player and beat her. This momentous moment, defied all odds. Serena was the first one to win a single grand slam title between the sister act. This grand slam title had yet to be professional verified by playing the only one left, Venus. This match was disappointing but the fact remained, Serena beat her older
Tennis is a sport that might not catch people’s interest on TV, but it surely is a sport that people admire and love to play. The one reason why it might be very admirable would probably be because it is not inclusive to any race, ethnicity, or culture. If you look at the tennis players that are involved in the game, their backgrounds are not very similar to other tennis players. Unlike basketball, you would notice that it is dominated by African Americans. Despite that, one of the negative attributes of tennis is the dominance of males. Tennis is a game that is open to everyone; however, there are gender differences that affect the women players. Women don’t get paid the same as men, men’s finals attracts more attention and is awaited for more than women’s finals, also the men tend to get more opportunities outside of tennis (commercials).
Her focus can drift in and out like the tide at seemingly the worst possible times. In her ridiculous and historic 2015 campaign, Williams won the first three majors of the year but was stopped just short of completing the calendar “Serena slam” in the semi-finals of the U.S. Open by Roberta Vinci. In the three-set loss to Vinci last September, Williams showed a trait that she hasn’t been able to shake in her career, getting down on herself, which causes her play to suffer. At her worst, in
For anyone who watched the men's tennis final at the Australian Open (January 29, 2012), there is no doubt that Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal are extraordinary athletes with stamina and skills that are amazing. The match went 5 hours and 53 seconds and both men were drained physically and emotionally at the end when Djokovic emerged victorious. But is tennis the most difficult sport? The answer is probably not. Some would say boxing or football should be considered the most difficult sports. And when it comes to baseball is hitting a pitched ball with a wooden stick the most difficult? The argument is ongoing about that.

Serena and Venus both began their career on the professional tour in the late 1990s. Early on both of the sisters began to show off their skills and surprised many people who did not know much about them. When they started they began to beat high ranked players on the pro tour. Serena won her first championship in 1999 at the Australian Open and Venus won her first championship in 2000 at Wimbledon. Serena’s Grand slam title victory in 1999 made her the second African-American woman to win a grand slam title, with Althea Gibson being the
