Immigrate hiring is a tricky process; there are many laws an employer must follow as to not get a big fine that could potentially shut their office down. Before 1986, employers did not risk anything from hiring an illegal immigrant or an “undocumented employee” they would just deport the employee and the employer would have to hire someone else. Now employers are required to check documentation on all potential employees or there will be penalties and even face criminal prosecution. Our federal agency that is responsible for immigration enforcement is ICE {Immigration Customs and Enforcement}. Before visiting or working in the united states a foreigner must first obtain a U.S visa this lets the us embassy to enter the limited your visa. So say you are a farmer and you are in dire need of help, you have exhausted all resources in trying to find an American citizen to employ. You can obtain a M-2 a seasonal or temporary agricultural work visa. This visa is obtained by the employer who will be seeking help by an employee to work in the united states. In order to do so, first give preference to American workers. This visa is valid for three hundred and sixty-four days. The employer is required by law to give the same workers’ rights to this individual. The united states also have a visa for individuals with extraordinary ability or achievement. In order to be eligible for this type of visa a foreigner must possess extraordinary ability or achievements in the science, arts, education, business, athletics or extraordinary recognized achievements in movies or television field. Of course, these are only temporary visas. A foreigner may also opt in getting a green card (Alien Registration Card).
The green cards main function is to identify its holder as haring lawful permanent or conditional resident of the United States. A green card holder has the right to travel in and out of the united states. A green card holder may even petition for their spouse and children to join them in the united states, they may also apply for U.S citizenship. People
