Immigration has been a major topic since the beginning of the United States of America. This phenomenon is what helped the establishment of this country; and even today it continues to have an impact in in most aspects of the lives of North American’s. The subject has also brought much criticism and created divided opinions about its immediate and long term impact. Migration itself it’s not a problem, but the modern dilemma of who is allowed to migrate and reside permanently in a country “legally.” It is interesting to explore this subject under three basic theories that Sociology deals with: symbolic interactionism, conflict theory and social functionalism. Each theory brings us closer to understand some of the reasons why “illegal immigration” is controversial today. The purpose of this paper is not to persuade but to explore and expose some ideas on a recurrent social issue.

Immigration is an issue that many people see as small and insignificant. Many believe that it doesn’t concern or affect them in any shape or form. Truth is, it doesn’t matter if you're African American, Caucasian, Asian, Mexican, or another race, immigration is an issue that affects everyone. Immigration affects the economy, the workforce, families, and the individual’s themselves whose main goal and dream is the “American Dream” that they come to the US looking for.

What eludes most of us, however, is the reality that most people were, at one point, immigrants to this country and that our forefathers came here exactly the same as refugees come today. Born in Calcutta, India and later moving to the United States, Amin Ahmad was an individual who discovered this harsh truth first-hand. In his essay, “I Belong Here,” Ahmad reflects on his experience of being treated differently from those around him based off his cultural background. He analyzes the emotional barrier that forms between the journey of immigration and the continuous feeling of inferiority based solely on the desire to belong. The article is written to provide a different point of view; one focused on introducing to the world the challenges and emotions immigrants face after starting the journey towards a new life.

Immigration remains the foreground of the United States; this happens to be one of the reasons it is known as the land of opportunity. Since the beginning, immigration has been a key concept in America, immigrants could settle down without fear of persecution. However, modern laws have seized this foundation and twisted it in such a way that it is a crime to migrate to the United States, under certain circumstances. Now, there only exists few options for immigrants to be naturalized and made permanent residents or citizens, which has left several with no other option except to break the law. This has caused an abundant number of undocumented immigrants to settle down in places, near the borders of the United States, such as Florida and Texas. The border states are closer to many of these immigrants’ home countries so they do not have to pay as much to get to a state such as California, which is another reason for the abundant number of immigrants in these states. Illegal immigrants should be allowed to reside in border states as they boost the economy, they offer inexpensive labor, and they make these states more culturally diverse.

How I feel about the argument in the text of learning english is it would be hard to do daily tasks around the community. The argument thats been amplified to know is to speech the language is everything. A assumption about learning english is people want to study the language to have a better career to start a better life there are programs like ELS allowing immigrant and refuges to study english as their second language. However, ESL program takes time to learn and immigrant and refuges don’t have the time with the long hours of work to the busy schedules. Everyone of any culture should be aloud in every country they want. There shouldn't be a law that doesn't let people out of a country to find a great new start for them. In this essay we will be talking about immigrants in the late days, border crossing, and families being separated.

Immigration is one hot topic in today’s conversation and society. Many think that immigrants coming to America are taking many jobs away from who need them. Some also think that there are jobs being taken away are not ones that Americans would not perform due to the horrible working conditions, low pay, and lack of important medical coverage. The immigration issue has come to a point where the United States must make a decision to spend a lot of money to curtail the amount of immigrants coming here.

Immigration is one word with many different meanings. I learned those meanings when I migrated to the United States. It taught me that it was an end in India, but also a new beginning in the U.S.A. I knew that moving to the U.S. would bring a huge change, but I did not know I would have to struggle so much to adapt to those changes. Everything was different when I arrived in the United States. There were many new things I had to adapt including the language. Language was a huge change for me and I had to adapt that change; there was no other choice.

As I read the title, I assumed I would be reading about the hardships and the challenges that immigrants face. The challenges they face while needing some type of medical service whether it is occupational therapy or a doctor check-up. Many immigrants fear or simply do not have the communication to seek the help they need and it is difficult for them to overcome these challenges.

This paper will examine the problem of Immigration and Immigration Law. I will first discuss what Immigration Law is and how it works, then I will define the number one problem of immigration laws, “illegal immigration” and why it’s so important to follow procedures. It will also address the consequences after violating the laws. Next the paper discusses three policy solutions to the problems of illegal immigration: Legalization of Immigrants, Strengthen Border Security, and Immigration Amnesty. The paper will first explain each policy solution. Then it will analyze the pros and cons, and potential strengths and weakness of each solution. Last this paper will offer some personal observations on the problem of immigration.

All of our time and money is wasted saving filthy refugees. The government should really rethink their budget plan because I’m not happy with it and many fellow Canadians aren’t either. I think. I always see on the news too that the number of refugees we are accepting keeps rising. We really are digging our own grave here. There shouldn’t be any refugees allowed, they got themselves stuck in a mess. Why should we care? I for one can’t even go to school without seeing a few refugees every day. They’re usually wearing cheap clothing and don’t look clean at all. I rather think they looked more natural in rags. But that’s just me.
