The history of United States development could never have happened if it was not from the industrialization of the country. The import and export of core minerals was made possible though transportation and industrial revolution. The lives of the American charged dramatically after the revolution as new channels of work emerged. The progressive era was an age of rapid advancement in social, economic, and societal values that shaped the United States into what it is today. The industrialization and subsequent labor reforms of the mid to late nineteenth century across the world helped to shape the United States and its entry into the modern world. Labor unions and the reforms they forced helped us to modernize and ethically improve our industry, bringing with them the liberal thought and ideas that helped drive American society into the modern world.
While a case could be made that the following inventions were just as important globally, for the sake of brevity and personal preference, this essay will focus upon the United States of America. The proliferation of transportation systems, the refrigerator, and the telegraph were the most important developments of the American Industrial Revolution as they allowed for western expansion and established a foundation for growth.
When someone speaks of industrialization the first thing that comes to mind is the idea of switching from an agriculture based society to a more technological and manufacturing society. Before the era of industrialization society operated differently and to some extent and the ways in which individuals worked and moved around was much more difficult. The process of industrialization was something different for the American society, it affected the american society socially, economically, and geographically. 1. One key impact of urbanization and industrialization on American society: Rapid migration of immigrants is shown throughout The Jungle when the meat packing industry needs to ramp up production or workers went on strike. This matches up historically speaking with the class lectures about the massive migrations of the Irish and the Germans that were taking time during this time period. When people today attempt to picture how the world before industrialization looks in their minds, mere visualizations are unable to describe what it would have been like. A rural civilization lacking the modern attributes of life today, such as skyscrapers and shopping malls may be of mind, but images of dirt roads and tumbleweed cannot possibly define the meaning and effect of industrialization on America and its economy. Through passion, war, death, and defeat, certain men made an immense impact on their own future and America’s currency within the world. Three men in particular built the nation from the ground up, figuratively and literally. Without these men, their motivation, and their ideas, no one knows what would actually be in store for Americans today. Like a multiple
Progressivism was a twentieth-century movement aiming to reinvigorate democracy by drastically altering socioeconomic policies and reforms. Although the Progressive movement resulted in widespread egalitarian reform, Progressivism cannot be characterized as a fully egalitarian movement because of restricted democratic participation and continual disenfranchisement of blacks in the era. Progressives, however, rejected the assumption that powerful government posed a threat to freedom and thought the government could act on behalf of those

Industrialization provided many positive assets to the economic and social realities for many American colonizers. A glimpse into history shows there is little difference between the first American settlers (immigrants) and immigrants of this century. It is prevalent that America remains to be the land of opportunity and a new beginning for people seeking economic progression--most importantly freedom. Similarly, history appears to repeat itself throughout centuries. The Liberty University’s HIUS 221, U.S. History course book explains the reasons people
There is no question that the Industrial Revolution had an enormous impact on American society between 1870 and 1940, but the question is what kind of an impact did it have during this period. The overall effect of the Industrial Revolution turned out to be a positive push towards modernization in America. As Stephen Gardiner, a British architect and writer during the 20th century, said, “The Industrial Revolution was another one of those extraordinary jumps forward in the story of civilization.” While Gardiner hit the nail on the head with his quote, the part of the story that most people tend to forget is just how quickly we Americans, made that extraordinary jump forward. There were Americans, who, at one point in their life were
