In what ways have you demonstrated bravery? Bravery can be demonstrated in many different types of ways. For example, one of the bravest things I have ever done is, shave my head for my cousin who was diagnosed with cancer. Doing this made my cousin feel not left out, it gave him more motivation to beat cancer, and he discovered who his closest friends where.
Losing your hair when you have cancer is something a cancer patient does not look forward to. I remember in the hospital when he was feeling down, because he was losing his hair and that day, I decided I was going to shave my head as well to make him feel less left out. Doing that I achieved this, seeing the smile on his face and him telling me "well now we both look goofy" Seeing him
The bravest moment I have ever had is when I quit putting up with people's crap and took a stand. The person at the time happen to be Davis Paul. Davis was always trying to stir problems in P.E. with me. He would push me and say hateful things everyday and one day enough was enough. He tool Axe and sprayed it in my eyes. I pushed him, he turned around to fight. Then he tried to pick me up and we both fell to the ground. When he missed I picked him up and body slammed him into the locker room floor, busting his head on concrete. He got chocked out in the moment I was brave and will no longer take anything off
Throughout history, there have been countless times whenre individuals have courageously fought for change and societal justice. For instance, Gandhi helped India gain their independence, even though the circumstances were extremely risky for him, and could have led to his arrest or even death. However, he continued to persevere through it all, and was able to accomplish great things for his country. Another example is Malala Yousafzai, who promoted the education of girls in her country. Despite the clear threat of the Taliban, she continued to fight hard for her cause. Courage can be defined in many different ways, such as the ability to persevere and accomplish something in a frightening or risky situation. Examples of courage can be seen all around the world. Without courageous people, society would not have been able to improve. Being courageous is difficult, and requires an abundance of dedication and perseverance. It also includes remaining strong, despite the challenges that may occur along the way.
As Franklin Thompson, I was able to prove that I was brave because I was able to risk my life to save others. I worked as a nurse and helped heal wounded soldiers.
In the book Hiroshima by John Hersey one of the survivors, Mrs.Nakamura was brave by going back into her collapsed house to get clothes for her children and cloth to patch her neighbors wounds up “ So she went back into the wreckage and burrowed underneath and found a bundle of clothes...she crawled into the remains of her house again and pulled out some white cloth that she had been using in her work as a seamstress, ripped it into strips, and gave it to Mrs.Nakamoto”(Hersey 19-20). She crawled back into her collapsed house twice risking her life just to help others around. This shows bravery because she has to be really brave to crawl back into a fallen house just to help others. Another example of bravery in Hiroshima is Father Kleinsorge helped people that he assumed were dead out of a collapsed house “ There was not a sound underneath; he was sure the Hoshijima woman was dead… he began to haul her out by the hair, but suddenly she screamed” (Hersey 22). This shows bravery because he went into a fallen house and started to pull a woman that he thought was dead out just so her family could have her body. Going back into a house that has collapsed and could collapse even more to save someone he barely knew takes a lot of bravery. These are examples of people being brave even in the worst of suffering to help others and their community.
The one time I felt that I was really brave was when I decided to act in front of about 100 people. It was crazy because I thought that I would ever have the courage of going up and performing for that many people considering that I have stage fright. I remember talking to my family hours before the show and telling them that I was really nervous and hearing my mom say that she knew I could do it. When it was my cue, I just remembered what my mom had told me and I took that into consideration throughout the show. At the end of the play, everyone started to cheer and we all grabbed hands and bowed, then I ran into my family's arms and I felt so proud of myself for all the hard work I payed into this. Now that I felt brave enough to do anything,
Thinking back on the many decisions, and choices that I have made in my life. A lot of the choices involved several different individuals throughout my social circle. I have come to realize that a few of those decisions turned out good, and others not so good. Regardless of the outcome, opinions were formed by those around me. Everything about myself as a person has come together to form views, opinions, and perspectives about me in my own and in other people’s eyes. Everyone has a word to describe me, even myself.
One example of courage is when a cable damaged the tip of my plane’s wing during the Korean War. I had to have courage because it was a dangerous mission that almost killed me.
To be brave is a matter of opinion, its how you see things, or people. The way I see it being brave is putting yourself before others, or doing something your afraid of. While that is my veiw others have different veiws on bravery, people think differently on what it means to be brave. Like a little kid they'll think being a super hero makes you brave, while an adult might think that standing up for what you believe in is brave, or oposing a popular political veiw is brave.People think differently on the subject, and I dont know how putting one defenition on this is right. Bravery has many defenitions, and it can pull people together ,or push the away from each other. Bravery is a complex thing that you just cant define, or atleast I dont think
Today we live in a society, including significant transfiguration, to obtain our nation’s independence. We no longer attack or force someone, into slavery as much as we did then. Through blood and through sweat our nation has fought for, to achieve its independence. In the result of our sacrifices during the First Industrial Revolution, our symbolic anthem created after the Battle of New Orleans, and our leadership in the Louisiana purchase, led to becoming a stronger and bolder country we live in today.
In a complex society, the word bravery can be interpreted in several ways. Firstly, it can be interpreted as anyone who stands up against his or her fear. For example, a common fear today is public speaking. When an individual is called up, anxiety and fear begin to raise thus creating doubts on how well the presentation will be. Regardless of the outcome of the overall presentation, one
“Don’t be afraid of your fears. They are not there to scare you. They are there to let you know that something is worth it.” What is the first thing you think of when you hear the word “bravery”? For some, they may think of a soldier fighting in a war or a superhero saving innocent people from a villain, but what others don’t think about is that a regular person like you and me can be the bravest person ever. My definition of bravery is someone who faces dangerous or difficult situations for others.
My definition of bravery is someone who takes a risk to save another, like aspca the people that rescue dogs from certain acts or saving abused dogs. When people think of bravery they think of a superhero from a movie fighting crime and doing such, but for me it is different i think bravery is something someone does for another like giving money to the homeless or cleaning up the streets and maybe someone saving another from certain death. There are alot of other brave people out there like the police, firefighters, the swat team, doctors, surgeons, and furthermore. An example of bravery is firefighters helping people out of the twin towers and taking out the fires that were spreaded. And what they did were heartbreaking some
My mom would need twelve weeks of treatment for the first round of chemo, and then four weeks of treatment for the second round. The two rounds consisted of two different medicines. The first round was longer, but the second round was more intense. I didn’t really recognize when she began to lose her hair it just gradually kept getting thinner and thinner. I knew that being bald was one of her biggest issues with the whole chemo portion of her treatment. She was going to have to lose all of her hair. When I thought about it I knew there were a lot of things in life that were worse than loosing hair. People face so many tragedies every day, and it is crazy to be disappointed about hair when people can die. I had tried to put into perspective why not having hair would bother my mom so much. I then realized that people could just see her for the disease and not herself. I didn’t realize that this part of cancer can be the toughest time for people because they look the most like cancer
Now I will get into how courageous my grandmother is. When I was 8 months old my mother and grandmother were walking back from the grocery store. When suddenly they were surrounded by wild hunting dogs they must have smelled the raw meat in my grandmother bag. So my grandmother took off running the opposite way of us to lead them away from us. The dogs attacked her she fought them off with one can good; they were trying to kill her. I was way too young to remember all this but she showed me the scars from the attack.
Bravery is when you show that you’re not afraid to do something. There is a lot of ways that courage can be demonstrated. For example, getting into a huge and scary roller coaster while no one else wants to. Well, that’s one example.
