To start off, England had all the natural resources needed to industrialize. England had a natural supply of wool, cotton, coal, iron, lead, and tin (doc 1). These are all resources that are needed and helpful when industrializing. Wool and cotton are especially good for the textile industry, whereas iron was great for making tools and machinery. Along with these resources, England’s location enabled trading due to it’s many waterways. You can not be more than 70 miles from the sea in England (doc 4). Even the animals in the country were an advantage. For example, the sheep in England gave off the best wool (doc 4). Having natural resources helped England industrialize because it saved the country from having to trade, and/or travel to other countries in order to get what they needed. The industrial revolution began in the 17th century and made significant change in the world. An era was over and the new one was beginning. The revolution has advantages and disadvantages. Rising of living standards, improving of health, lifetime and trade system are its advantages. On the other hand, manufacturing has caused major problems such as deforestation, excessive use of fossil fuel sources, irresponsible industrialisation and agricultural development. These changes have increased world’s atmospheric concentration of water vapour, CO2, CH4 and other gases (Stocker, 2013). These gases capture part of energy receiving from sun and trap this heat inside atmosphere that causes rising temperatures on the earth’s surface. Naturally, for continuation of life these gases are necessary, but result of the human events these gases has produced more than plants and environment need (Robins, 2016). Also, we call them Green Houses Gases because they have the similar effect like the ‘greenhouses’ utilised to increase condition of vegetables.

From around 1750 to 1900 Britain went through major changes or transformation in industry, agriculture and transportation that affected everybody’s lives. For some it generally improved their lives, however not all were so lucky. The industrial revolution brought with it many changes good for some and bad for others.

It also made production easier, faster, and cheaper since workers made an abundant of products within a short amount of time. Mass production in factories was possible because of the invention of machineries, leading to products being made without costing businesses as much money compared to if the products were hand made. Because products were made in factories, this also caused retail prices of the products to decrease while there was always accessibility for the supplies. The establishment of large corporations replaced small businesses, which was good news for the wealthy but bad news for individuals who owned their own small stores.

The Industrial Revolution began in Britain during the late 1700s. It took place during the 18th and 19th centuries. Machines and factories led to great productions, such as new systems of transportation, more efficient communication, banking systems, a variety of manufactured goods, and an overall improvement of living. Prior to the changes made during the Industrial Revolution, workers often manufactured products in their homes using handtools and basic machinery. The Industrial Revolution had many long-lasting effects on the English economy and society in the 1800s; the effects being both positive and negative. England’s industrialization resulted in urbanization, improved production, and better transportation, but also in poor living and working conditions for the working class, including many children. Industrialization in England made production of goods much more convenient, creating a greater demand for unskilled labor and a rapidly growing population. The population increase meant that more food was needed in order to feed everyone. In Document 5, Michael Mandelbaum explains that some rural labor was made “redundant,” causing many people to move to urban cities where they could find work in the new factories.

The Industrial Revolution started in the eighteenth century in Britain. There were innovative advances in the society that led to the faster production of goods. Prior to this even started, agriculturists needed to leave their property and urbanize to the urban areas. The main accessible occupation that required job was the frightening industrial facilities. These factories changed the lives of these agriculturalists by making them work numerous hours.

The Industrial Revolution is the name given to the movement in which machines changed people's way of life as well as their methods of manufacturer. It brought three important changes: inventions of machines that simplify and speed up the work of hand tools, use of steam (and other power) versus human power, adoption of a factory system. Workers were brought together under one roof and were supplied machines. The Industrial Revolution began throughout the world relatively during the same time period, and although it had its beginning in remote times, it is still continuing in some places.

The birth of the Industrial Revolution in England was a crucial point in history. Industrialization is the large-scale introduction of manufacturing, technological enterprises, and productive economic activity into an area. During this era, rural populations declined as people sought higher wage jobs. The speed at which goods were produced increased with new inventions. Farmers were able to support the growing population with efficient farming tools.

The Industrial Revolution started with the invention of the Steam Engine by James Watt in 1775 (1). It was basically an engine that would induce the energy of steam to move other machines such as trains and powering factories. It was an incredible source of energy for transportation and goods. Public transportation such as locomotives could now be powered by the steam engine and this increased the speed of travel, which lowered the time to arrive at the destination. After the steam engine, the cotton gin invented by Eli Whitney was another remarkable invention during the Industrial Revolution. This machine easily separated the cotton fibers from its seeds. The mass production of things affected the skills of the workers because they were no longer doing multiple things in factories. The workers specialized in one part of the process because of the use of assembly lines. Therefore, they didn 't have the skills that they would 've had if each person did everything or more than one things. Therefore, they got paid less as a result. The 19th century assembly line also kept the workers working at a fast pace. One worker set the pace for the rest so if one worker slowed down, the entire production was slowed down. This idea was expressed in the movie Metropolis.

In England, the years spanning 1780–1840 witnessed rapid economic changes, which propelled English society decisively towards industrialization. (Lloyd-Jones & Lewis, 2014) The Industrial Revolution (1) transformed England from an agricultural to an industrial society where the machine had replaced manual labor. This may have led to the rise of mass unemployment and the exodus of workers from villages to cities in search of economic opportunities to survive. This also accounts for the increasing number of slums along the Thames River and the exploitation of women and children at the factories for extremely low wages. (Calmon, 1994)
