My career goal is to become an Information Security Analyst. An information security analyst, is involved with creating, testing and implementing network security measures. Therefore, I am pursuing an undergraduate degree in Computer Science to achieve that goal. During my time at Queens College, I intend to take my technical electives cryptography, Assembler Language and Operating Systems. The cryptography course will be useful in learning how to create stronger encryption mechanisms to make it more difficult for unauthorized access. The course in Operating Systems will allow me to learn how to make an Operating System more difficult to infect with malware. The first of these was the completion of my Bachelor of Science in Cyber Operations. The curriculum in that degree path directly supports the D.Sc. in Cybersecurity program. Following my undergraduate graduation, I continued directly into the Master of Science in Applied Computer Science specializing in Cyber Operations and this degree also directly supported the D.Sc. In Cybersecurity program.
Moving ahead to the middle of this course has me feeling confident in my ability to define computer terms in various business situations. In addition to this, the INFT124 class also helps me remember the names of basic computer parts and it also helps me competently explain how computers function. These activities also help me advance my computer knowledge, experience and competencies so I know how to complete challenging academic tasks.
My studies in computer studies over the past few days had me discontented in the beginning and joyous with a shared determination by Saturday afternoon. I opened the learning guide for the weeks working session starting June 25 and ending July 1st for a quick glance of the topics and the requirements for successfully completing this unit work. From the onset, when I viewed the assignment, I asked myself what made me choose this course so early. I began doubting myself and my true potential without reading the full details and the literature associated with it. Off course this will not help me complete this assignment.
This degree will assist me in my future career goals because there are not any other degrees like this one. I am applying to the Homeland Security-Information Security and forensics option because I think this will provide the extra knowledge I will need to go far in the workforce. I want to work to protect this great nation and I want to come in prepared to take on any challenges that arise on a daily bases. I am graduating with a BS in Security risk Analysis-Cyber Security and it has given me a great introduction along with a solid base of what security is and how to establish it. The academics are about personal achievement, cutting-edge discovery, and community involvement, with students and lifelong learners selecting from a stunningly diverse array of possibilities, and that is more than enough to attract me. One academic major that I am especially interested in joining is Computer Science, a major that is shared throughout all three campus locations. There are a few factors that determine my choice for this major, one which is my prominent interest in math, a subject in which I believed do very remarkable in. As someone who enjoys math, I take pleasure in performing mental challenges and analyzing problems in order to solve them. Another factor for my choice in Computer Science is my interest in technology. There's no doubt that technology has helped improve our lives and it's only getting more advanced as the days go by. For example, Rutgers University is in possession of the latest technologies and state-of-the-art research facilities that assist students with their education. As the world is connected and driven mostly by technology nowadays, I desired to discover more about the technological world around me. The courses I have taught for undergraduates are: Programming Languages (Python and C++), Information Security, Hacking Techniques 101, Operating Systems, Data Communication and Computer Networks, Traffic Analysis and Network Programming, Network Management, Wireless Computer Networks, and CompTIA Server+.

This course interests me greatly because the current ICT business is now becoming the developing future and I believe it is a flourishing business to be involved with. I have been involved in the use of ICT and computers from the age of 6. Since then I have been fascinated with the workings and operations of a computer. I chose this profession because over the past couple of years, the world has become more dependent on technology, which means that there is more technology that needs to be developed and better network security will need to be implanted to meet the progressing world’s standards. By being in this profession, there will always be job opportunities in small and large companies because networks, computers, cell phones and many other gadgets are prone to being compromised. For example, Boeing is a prestigious, global company that is one of the leading manufacturers of cyber security that offers several internship and job opportunities to undergraduates and graduates. Future graduates will be able to learn reliable information on what they need to become an information security analyst because an intensive amount of time was taken to research and find credible sources.
Technology has grown tremendously over the past few decades. Everyday businesses, governments, and everyday people rely on technology for things from banking to communicating with loved ones and business associates. Disrupting this technology can cause major losses monetarily and in the sense of information. According to Information Security Curriculum Creation: A Case Study, “A survey of undergraduate degree programs in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Science, and others show a lack of emphasis on security issues in their curriculum.” There is a strong need to secure and protect information for many, many reasons and as such it is important that an undergraduate curriculum provides a comprehensive approach to teaching information security concepts to its students.
It is universally agreeable that with the advent of Computer technology, every ambitious and enthusiastic individual is really obsessed with the idea of doing computer science at graduate level because it seems to have created a zeal and enthusiasm in the hearts of youth, particularly those who aspire to be marked as high achievers. I, for one, seem to have been enchanted by these computer applications as they have made the world smaller, speaking in terms of globalization. I have no hesitation to add that core computerization alone is the suitable answer to all the areas unexploited and to the areas waiting for development. It has always been a fascination for me about how computers work, how these applications are designed and what can be the newer ways to explore the world of computers to make our world better. This interest became a passion for me when I was exposed to computer science basics, during my middle school. Pursuing computer science engineering at undergraduate level, further propelled my passion for computer science along with providing me a deeper insight and in-depth understanding of the subject. After completing my under graduation in Computer Science, I am willing to expedite my research interest and a masters degree seemed the most appropriate choice for realizing my aspirations.
