In today’s healthcare system, Information technology is considered to be important part of patient care experience. Health care system today is so complex and to improve patients quality of life the integration of information technology is paramount. Information technology also adds a competitive value to an organization because patients have many options from which they can choose to receive care. In this report I will discuss how I (Informatics director) propose to solve a communication problem with a hardware solution while maintaining existing software.

Under the treatment team you can see anyone who is caring for the patient, it could be the Physical therapist, physician, any consults patient had, respiratory therapists and etc. If you wish to talk to any one of the team members phone number are listed next to their name and if the message is not urgent a secure text message can be sent. Imagine the time it would save, before you would have to call the nursing unit, speak to the secretary and ask to be transferred to the nurse.
With wireless solution, everyone will forget days where you have to physically look for a desktop to get into the main EMR. During busy days there are hardly any desktops not being used and some employees have to give up using the computer so a physician can chart or anyone who needs to get into EMR emergently. With wireless solution you could be anywhere in the facility and have access to every patients data in your palm. These items improve patient safety (Cerner, 2015). Cerner is capable of CPOE, electronic prescription transmitting, and has the ability to capture data and immunization statuses to meet reporting regulations.
