During my research I learned a lot about cancer. I focused on the history, affected people, signs and symptoms, diagnosis and treatment of cancer. I used evidence from websites and medical journals to back up my research. After completing my research I have more understanding about the people that are having their lives affected by cancer. A problem I found with cancer is expensive, painful and hard to go through. Therefore I think people should be able to make their end of life decision when faced with cancer. There is a lot of research occurring now around the world, we need to keep up the research to find a cure for cancer.

“Nearly half of all men and a little more than one-third of all women in the United States will have cancer during their lifetimes” (“American Cancer Society”, 2017). Cancer affects every race. Although cancer can appear at any age the older you get, the higher the risk is for getting the disease (“American Cancer Society”, 2017, p. 4). Lab tests show high or low levels of certain substances in your body which can be a sign of cancer. “Lab tests of the blood, urine, or other body fluids that measure these substances can help doctors make a diagnosis” (“National Cancer Institute”, 2017). There are six different scans the doctors can do, each scan provides different views of the body. Doctors do biopsies to perform testing on an unfamiliar parts tissue. Biopsies involve taking a part of tissue that a pathologist can study to see if cancer is present.
