Anyone of my multiplewriting assingments about the ice man could easily be expanded into a solid essay. I could do this by discusing how he is one of the best relics ever discovered about how our ancient ancestors used to live. I could then move on to discusing the specifiics of how he was found, his possesions, and how he died. All of these are interesting and informative tidbits in thier own right, and combined could make a rather intersting informative essay.
The Ice Man, or "Utzy", is one of the best preserved remenents of our species very distant past, everything about him from his discovery, to possesions, to how he ended up dead so high in the icy moutains are a fascinating mystery.
The Ice Man was discovered high in the moutains between
Otzi is a mummified body that was found near the Otzal apes. It was preserved in the ice. Otzi is one of the only preserved bodies that is almost completely preserved. Even after all of that time he had no special treatment to help preserve. It was preserved for about 5,300 years. He was found in 1991 by a couple of tourists on the Italian/Austrian border.
Otzi the iceman was discovered in Italy, his 5,300 year-old corpses were found between the border of Austria and Italy. The Narrabeen man was found in 2005 in the Sydney basin next to a bus stop.
History has framed the Miracle On Ice as one of those rare sporting achievements that transcend sport. The two hockey games that comprise the “miracle” – the 4-3 win over the mighty Soviets and the 4-2 gold medal clincher against Finland – are credited with lifting Americans from a decade of gloom and despair, reviving patriotism and foreshadowing a national renewal.
One of the more beautiful things about nature is that it is constantly changing and hold so many mysteries that we don’t understand. Each day brings new beauties and scenes that weren’t there yesterday. Having grown up on the east coast might have caused me to have a greater appreciation for all of the seasons, but one of my favorite things about season is being able to witness the changing over form one to the next. How each plant knows that the change is coming and they all magically start to prepare themselves for the new setting they’re going to create. The romantics capture the mysteries of nature in some of the most beautiful poetry. They delve deep into the possible meanings of what nature could be attempting to tell us or simple what they find beautiful about what they see in nature. One piece that stuck with me this quarter was The Snow Storm by Ralph Waldo Emerson. Winter has always been one of my favorite season since I was a little girl and have always anxiously awaited that first snow fall, dreaming of a white Christmas that year. Ralph Waldo Emerson’s The Snow Storm brought back nostalgic memories of snow filled days in my childhood and made me appreciate having actually experienced snow in real life and the beauty
After a careful overview of the story, the readers understands that the author point is that in some situations, people should do the nice thing and sacrifice themselves to help others. In the story, “What Happened During the Ice storm” the author uses a mysterious, bittersweet tone, “They stood over the pheasants, turning their own heads, looking at each other each expecting the other to do something” (Heynen 1). The author uses this line to show that any other person would not even stop to think; that any other person would immediately attack. However, putting these lines in the story makes the reader notice how the boys took the time to stop and think

Cheerleading began for me at the age of twelve. In the past I had played soccer, basketball, softball, did ballet. Basically every activity my mom could possibly put me in. All of those activities were okay, but cheerleading became something that was special to me. I first began cheering in middle school for the Hazelwood West Junior Wildcats. I cheered on the team throughout middle school literally dedicating all of my free time to cheerleading. I lived, ate, and dreamed cheer. I went on to continue cheering throughout my high school career, cheering for all Hazelwood West athletics, including: soccer, football, basketball, and wrestling. I was a hardcore dedicated athlete, and I had spirit like no other. From
INTRO: This is the examination and comparison of Otzi the Iceman and Narrabeen Man; ill be talking about where they were discovered, When they died, How they died, what was there life like, How they were preserved, The archaeological evidence that was discovered, interpretations from experts and the return of the remains to indigenous communities.
Otzi or “The Iceman” was found in 1991, 10,000 feet up in the Italian Alps and was thought to have lived more than 5,000 years ago (during the Stone Age) and now we are receive new information on how he may have died. After scientists discovered that Otzi was shot or stabbed in the back theories were flying but today we may have found the truth. Many believed that Otzi was part of some kind of war or was attempting to take land from another community, but if this is true where are all the other bodies of his fellow soldiers? Should we send a search party of archaeologists to look for them? No we shouldn’t because that is not what happened. Here at Boyle Post we believe that, due to the fact that he had the remnants of wheat grains on his decomposed
Otzi the iceman, a figure whose body has been preserved in the ice of the Alps has unveiled the secrets to copper-aged life and from the evidence found, i have come to the conclusion that Otzi died because he was in combat with two other people who were trying to take him for a sacrifice. Otzi had slits on his wrist, a punctured thumb, a damaged wrist bone, and a ½ inch deep zigzag cut in his right hand.Otzi also had a dagger in the hand with the zigzag cut. From this evidence, we can tell that he was in hand to hand combat and that his opponent was very close to him. Another piece of evidence that was found with Otzi was pollen in his lungs from the top of the mountain and from thine bottom. This pollen proved that
The documentary Iceman Murder Mystery was about a stone age mummified human found in 1991 by hikers in the Italian Alps. Otzi the stone age human is about 5,300 years old and is the oldest human found still intact. The documentary is mostly surrounded by scientists finding out what kind of life this human had, how he died, and what his DNA looked like. Scientists only had 9 hours to go into the mummified remains and extract DNA, try to look at the murder weapon lodged in the iceman's shoulder, and look into his stomach without destroying the remains (Iceman Murder Mystery). They also looked at the items found on the iceman to see if that had any answers into the iceman's life. They found a shoe on him, a copper axe, a knife, and arrows that
Ötzi the iceman is one of history’s most famous mysteries, but Ötzi has also caused some controversy in the way he died, several scientists and archaeologists have discussed many pieces of evidence (injuries and markings) that could explain his death. Many questions have been asked about this topic like: what is the most rational explanation? OR Is there any evidence showing who’s hypothesis is correct? Ötzi the iceman is an interesting mystery because there could have been more than one person involved in his death or whether it was from past experiences such as physical combat.
Murder, hunting accident, spiritual ritual, was he killed on the run, or murdered by an acquaintance, all of these are possible results of Ӧtzi the ice man’s death. No one knows the actual reason Ötzi the iceman died, and many intelligent people and people that shirk the responsibility of doing the proper research and background information about the prehistoric mummy and his life. The reason I believe Ӧtzi was killed is based on the well produced, prodigious documentary, made by BBC News. He wasn’t killed on spot, he fought someone and managed to escape the hands of his enemy and in efforts to escape he was shot but stifled the pain and continued on. Forlorned and disgruntled, still stifling the pain, he couldn’t proceed on any longer. That’s when Ötzi took his last breath.
Have you ever been treated unfairly? Have you ever been treated like you have no rights at all? Most people have, but few of them have been treated as badly as Victor and his friends were in “Ice Man” written by Elmore Leonard, just because they are Native Americans.
