Journal Entry #2 1. What is your progress on your internship to date? Will you still be able to meet your original internship goals? It has been a month and a few weeks since my internship started. Throughout my journey, I have learned a lot of things and I am managing everything pretty well. I am always on time, I communicate with my manager, and I always finish my tasks in a timely manner. Overall my internship is progressing really well and I am delivering exceptional results. As my internship progresses and I look back, I believe I will be able to meet my original internship goals because I know how to manage all the tasks in a more effective way than in the beginning when I just started with the internship and little by little I am
I had set some goals for my internship- to earn experience from it, to earn 3 credits from it, to learn to work in the team, to gain confidence, and gain valuable understanding of the accounting field and will be able to better grasp the things how my coursework is preparing me to enter my chosen career and to strengthen my CV.
The main task of my internship was to gain more experience and knowledge of our respective field. Overall, the experience proved to be both enjoyable and rewarding. During this internship I used the skills that I learned from my Medical Assistant class and used them in the real world scenarios at the hospital. Also while I there I was exposed to new experiences. Such as performing Urine test on Drug and alcohol patients. For this procedure I had to stand in the restroom with the patient's and watch them urinate into a cup. I had to stand in the restroom with the patients because in the past they try and cheat the system. For example
I believe I met most of my learning objectives. I learned an extensive amount about Rutgers University. I
College has always been a dream of mine and I am sure for many others it has been too. Well, I am finally here, I can not contain my excitement. So many new experiences and things to learn, it is all becoming so real. This semester I hope to get to know at least one of my professors, go to every single one of my classes without being late, always read the required texts and do all of my outside of class assignments on time. By getting to know one of my professors, I can talk to them and ask questions to see how they were able to get where they are today. After all, they have been in my shoes before and clearly know exactly what it takes to become the successful adult I hope to become. Going to class has already
As a volunteer mediator at Harbor Justice Center, I have learned the following in my first two weeks:
My internship experience at Texas Total Health has been a great learning experience. While interning there I had the opportunity to perform numerous tasks and jobs, which has helped me build on my nutrition experience. Before beginning this experience I was expecting to get the opportunity to work with clients and observe nutrition counseling in a real life setting. I also wanted to be able to practice creating client’s meal plans, and learn how a private nutrition business operates. On top of my expectations there was a job description of the intern position with many task to be performed over the semester. Now after recently completing my internship at Texas Total Health my experience did meet my expectations and the job description was accurate.
I am writing this journal for you so that you will always know our heritage and where you ancestors came from. We may be United States citizens but our culture and homeland is elsewhere. Somewhere I am hoping you will one day visit. Here is a little bit of history about our dear homeland. The island of Puerto Rico (formerly Porto Rico) is the most easterly of the Greater Antilles group of the West Indies island chain. Located more than a thousand miles southeast of Miami, Puerto Rico is bounded on the north by the Atlantic Ocean, on the east by the Virgin Passage (which separates it from the Virgin Islands), on the south by the Caribbean Sea, and on the west by the Mona Passage (which separates it from the
I started my internship with the De Pere Area Chamber of Commerce in the first week of June. Beginning my internship I wasn’t sure what to expect. I had ideas about what I was going to be doing, but wasn’t sure. Whether the task was big or small I knew I wanted to contribute.
For my twelfth grade Senior Capstone project, I am choosing to do my internship in the field of neurology and neuroscience, with an additional focus on medication and therapy for neurodegenerative diseases. My initial interest in this topic is admittedly quite embarrassing; while flipping through channels one night, I found myself mildly piqued by the (heavily glamorized) TV show Criminal Minds and soon I was following the series religiously and developed an interest in “psychology”. I was able to gain more understanding of this topic when I attended the Duke TIP program the summer before my ninth grade year, delving briefly into criminal psychology and the law. I then spent the rest of that summer volunteering
In this week's journal entry, my learning intention is to incorporate the three key understandings for unit 2 (Self-assessment: How might I be perceived in my school community?; Recognize that community partnerships benefit schools, families, and students; and Understand the specific roles of administrators in this process) within my question responses.
1. Describe what you did. This does not mean that you copy and paste from what you have posted or the assignments you have prepared. You need to describe what you did and how you did it.
Dear diary, my father is a preacher who has preached a lot in America but one of his favorite places to preach is in the Philippines, but before I was born my family lived in the Philippines. From the start of my mom’s pregnancy it was rough. On multiple occasions my family and doctors thought that they had lost me. While my mom and brothers and sisters would sing bible verses together. On August 14, 1987 I was born. At the age of three we moved from the Philippines to Jacksonville, Florida. Growing up my family was competitive at ever thing no matter what it was from Monopoly to basketball no one wanted to lose. When I was five and tee ball started I had already played a lot of player pitch with my brothers, so the idea of hitting of a tee
Although, I have to say candidly that I don’t feel that I accomplished or learned as much in the end as I had aspired to during the onset of each internship.
Looking forward to my second semester at my internship gives me a lot of hope and excitement. This semester there will be a lot going on and I am excited to see where I go after this. Now that I have a better understanding of the company it is a lot more fun. During this semester I look to spread my wings during the semester. One objective I have is to become more fluid in our shipping system. I look to work hand and hand with our logistics manager to get a better understanding on how we ship things and the process of doing so. We do a lot of our shipping in house and have bigger orders that are sent from the warehouse. Another objective I have is to becoming
At the beginning of the internship, each intern was required to make a list of goals they hoped to accomplish throughout the internship. We were given four categories to consider. The first area was Leadership Effectiveness. My goals here were: be focused and committed to the engagement and willing to overcome obstacles; maintain a professional approach, especially when representing the organization; and keep a positive attitude and respect others. The second area was Management Effectiveness, and my related goals were: stay within the constraints of time budgets when managing responsibilities; continually seek feedback, formal and informal, to know how/what to improve; and communicate clearly and often to keep team updated on progress of project. Service Excellence was the third area, and my related goals were: understand the why, not just the how, of assignments; learn team expectations and client’s business; and maintain high-quality services using knowledge gained from team. The last area was Marketing, Sales, and Communication. My goals here
