I chose to interview Jen Flemming. She is a teacher, mentor, mother, wife, and a leader. I first met Jen when she adopted my little sister. My mother was having a hard time and she needed some help, she could not have hand picked a better person to fill her shoes. Jen was a leader then when she took my sister as her own, and she is also a leader in her career. She is a second grade teacher at Calvin Coolidge Elementary School. I remember when I told her that I was changing my major to Elementary Education. She was very excited and eager to help me along the way. She offered me advice, a listening ear, and helped me find a placement for me pre-practicum. I only wish I had been able to be in her classroom for it! Jen is someone who is always positive, always there to listen, and the first to offer support. I knew that there would be so much I could learn from her. For my research portion I wanted to look at the role of mentoring in developing leadership skills. Jen spoke highly both of having a mentor and being a mentor, so it is something I would like to look into further. I also would like to find a way to utilizing what I am learning not only for myself, but to also be able to implement it into my classroom for my students. I am very interested in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM), and about learning how to encourage my students, especially the female, into fostering an interest in these fields. I looked at an article titled “Learning by Leading: using best
I interviewed Ashley Porras, a Licensed Vocational Nurse at Sharp Rees Stealy. She gave me background information of how she got into the healthcare system, great advice and what she does on a daily basis. The reason I chose Ashley as the person to interview was because I got the chance to spend the day with her at work and I loved it. I found it interesting what she did and got the opportunity to learn more about her, her occupation and where she see’s herself in the future. Someday, I would be an LVN and gradually get higher in the healthcare field like she is doing now.
As Finkelman (2006) stated, “Mentoring, and important career development to that can be used by nurses any type of set or specialty, can be used to develop the critical leadership skills needed by nurses. All successful leaders have had mentors are our mentors” (Finkelman,2006, p. 390).
At first thought on who I would choose to interview for a profile essay assignment in my English class, Syd was the first person to come to mind. Her life goal is to help others and maybe shed some light to help them through their journeys through life themselves. Her passion shines bright and strong for what she does. When she teaches, she gives so much more than just the basics of what comes from the
Getting the ability to interview one of my past teachers was an awesome experience. I had the luxury of talking to one of my former high school teachers and Student Council advisor Tessa Gargano. We have a great reputation together and basically know each other like the backs of our hands.

I interviewed Durward “Durk” Lynch he is in my field of interest where I want to work as one day. He is a Nurse Practitioner at the Vanden Bosh Clinic and at the College Clinic. He gave information on his background and what drove him to be a Nurse Practitioner (NP). He really has had a lot of experience, as I will explain to you what he has shared.
I interviewed my wife, Jael Dimich. I choose her because she left a high paying job to go back to school to become a nurse. She wanted to become a nurse after traveling for three months in Argentina and realizing there are people that continue to be suppressed by their economic background and social opportunities. That experience inspired in her the desire to help people in her career.
I chose my friend, Rheanna Lynn Esparza, as my interviewee for my cultural interview. While I was interviewing Rheanna, I used the same questions I answered about myself during my cultural diorama presentation. During the interview, I was able to grasp a better understanding of Rheannas culture while allowing her to develop a better understanding of her own culture and family history.
My mock interview was scheduled with Elizabeth Allison from Childserve, however, Elizabeth was sick that day so they sent someone else to replace her. The lady that ended up interviewing me was very personable and made me feel comfortable throughout the interview. She came out and shook my hand and greeted me and took me in the room to be interviewed. She told me a little bit about herself and what she did for a living. I learned a lot about Childserve and what exactly my interviewer does there.
As mentioned above, I chose Oniqa as my interviewee because of the impact she has had on my life in the time I have
I picked Wilkin Munoz. he is part of the honors college and is a biology major. he's a tall thin man.white skin with wave hair. he wore shorts and a shirt and a side backpack. i picked him because he's a very outgoing person . he's very busy with events is passionate about the things he does. we had the interview on campus. we were sitting on a blue bench under a tree. Around us there were people talking and there was a slight breeze blowing .The sun was out and it was a bright day but it was not hot.
Billy Miyata- He was really nice during our interview. He has an optimistic view of life and I hope to learn how to perceive things in a more positive light through him.
The person I interviewed was Mrs. L. I know her because she is my mother’s mother. The interview took place at my house and the interview lasted about 2 hours and 20 minutes. I chose to interview Mrs. L because she seems to have done everything right and in the right order to lead to a successful life. I thought it would be interesting to go into depth and find out how she really did it and find out the hardships that came with making a successful family and life. (word count: 90)
I chose to interview Randy Bedsaul. He is an older gentleman who responds in a genuine manner. Since he works in my maintenance shop and I interact with him on a daily basis it was easy to ask him to do this interview. He responded quickly to my request and even stayed after work one day to help me out. To say I was thrilled would be an understatement. I really appreciate individuals who are willing to go the extra mile to help others in regards to personal/professional growth.
I chose my bible professor Dr. Reich to have an interview with because he is my favorite teacher. I love the way he teaches our classroom. He talks out the specific details that we need to know in the bible. When he brung his daughter into the classroom, it’s like he thinks that we are family. Simply to the fact that a teacher wouldn’t bring their own child into a classroom that he isn’t comfortable with.
