I have had the pleasure of knowing Taleen for over three years now. I hired Taleen about three years ago to be the extra hands and caregiving support for my seven-year-old Cognitively Impaired disabled son, Jayden. I am a single mom and have consistently needed the reliable and trustworthy help at home on a weekly basis. Taleen is the only person other than family that I have ever trusted to take on the extreme responsibility, passion, and dedication to assist my son with his very fragile special needs. My son has made leaps and bounds because of the love and care he receives from Taleen. She works with him on supporting his physical therapy needs, and encourages him to grow and learn in a positive way. Taleen is an active volunteer at the Miracle Baseball League of Plymouth. She is a one on one safety buddy who helps Jayden be able to play baseball every week and this allows for him to be a part of a team for disabled children. She also assists with getting him off of his school bus with his wheel chair on some afternoon. She works with him on becoming more independent by helping him get dressed on his own, read books, and play games with physical activity.
She has

Her enthusiasm about attending the University of Michigan-Dearborn was not something to be overlooked. Being a mother, you want your children to grow up having them value education, reflect a moral and responsible outlook of what their future can hold for them if they work hard enough for it, and never give up trying. Education and maintaining excellent grades is one thing Taleen has worked very hard towards over the years I have known her. In addition, I can gladly produce a list of other parents and volunteer coordinators who can also support this Letter of Recommendation for the responsible and committed person Taleen is. There are many of us who have seen first hand the dedication and confidence she shows on a daily
With the help of teachers and my efforts, I have been successful and was even a recipient of an academic achievement award for students with a 3.6 GPA or higher. It is not always easy learning the materials, studying and placing my thoughts onto paper, yet I will continue to advocate for myself in any circumstance necessary. Despite having learning challenges in the classroom, it does not limit my activities outside of the classroom. I love to volunteer! One of my favorite activities includes being a volunteer buddy for the Miracle League of the Fox Valley. The Miracle League is a baseball organization for children and adolescents with physical and/or cognitive challenges. My role of a buddy is to assist my fellow buddy in any needs she may need, protect her from possible injuries and make sure she is having fun! I love having the opportunity of being a buddy, it has formed a forever lasting companionship and provided smiles that touch us all! Addition to the Miracle League, I’m a member of National Honor Society in which I volunteer in several community organizations to help better the community. I was honored to be selected as a Link Crew member. It has been one of my greatest opportunities to advocate for my peers with disabilities. This is a first time that Appleton North Link Crew created a program for students with physical and cognitive challenges to be included in a freshman transition program in
It’s with great privilege to write this letter of recommendation on behalf of Machayla Longfoot, a Senior FFA member at Judson High School. Machayla is an outstanding student and a valuable part of her FFA chapter. Over the past three years she has developed into one of the strongest leaders in her chapter. Machayla is someone her fellow FFA members look up to and seek guidance from. She can be counted on and is a good organizer when something needs to be accomplished.
And also, in her late letter, I’m moved regarding her love and dedication toward her student.
It is a true pleasure for me to write this letter of recommendation for Magaly Resendez, whom I have had the opportunity of teaching for the past two years. She was in my World History class as a sophomore and is currently in my U.S. History class as a junior.
It is with great honor that I write this letter of recommendation for Treniya Bronaugh. I have watched Treniya grow from a toddler to a high school student. Not only has this observation been one of her physical growth, but one of character development. She is like family, as both our families shared the same last name and we grew up calling each other cousins.
I am writing this letter of recommendation for the Graduate Student Teaching Assistant Award to recognize my CHM 256 T.A. Haitham Kalil. I've only known him for about 4 weeks, and he has already shown the utmost respect and concern for his students since the first day of class. He is very aware of his responsibilities as an instructor and is understanding towards certain situations as well as give his full attention to his students to help succeed in the class. As a second year student my experience with college professors and instructors are limited but during my attendance at Cleveland State University I can distinguish the instructors that want the best for their students. As the engaged learning experience in Cleveland state represents
After months of waiting to hear from the University of Michigan, a letter was placed into my mailbox. I remember holding that letter in my hand with tears rolling down my face. My parents consulted me before I opened the letter:
I am writing this letter of recommendation to express my support for Keyshia Martin in her application for the Jackie Lajeunesse Scholarship Award. Thank you to the Ontario Ringette Association for organizing this rewarding opportunity for a great supporter of ringette.
In my time volunteering at Adams Camp, I have received the opportunity to be able to know Jordan Ficke. Jordan Ficke is a brunette, young woman who has devoted most of her life to helping other people. While she has spent over a decade of her life helping people with developmental disabilities, she has also worked at schools and a rehabilitation center. She stated that “if you love what you do, you will never have to work a day in your life!” She truly has lived by this motto, as her life has been lived for the benefit of others. Prior to moving to Colorado, she lived in Baltimore, working at a day habilitation program. She “served clients with dual diagnosis in mental health as well has an intellectual disability that

She is in pursuit of her B.S in Human Service. She received her A.A. degree in Human Services in Olympic College, WA while her husband was stationed in a Navy base from 2010 to 2014. Jecinta loved this part of the state as she has made good connections with friends and family. While her husband was stationed in Korea for one year Jecinta had to be left in WA to finish her AA before they had to transfer to Virginia in Fort lee. This move made her decide to purse her B.S as every job that she was searching for needed a bachelor level. The choice of ODU school was from her advisor from the community college she
I am writing this letter in support of Ms. Bernita Williams. I am a recent graduate of Richmond Community High School and was able to have Ms. Williams as a counselor for two out of my four years at Community. Ms. Williams is caring, hard working, and reliable which make for a great counselor. She is greatly respected by both students and faculty.
I interviewed “Lessmusclethenkevin”, age 14, on November 7th, 2014. I believe that Lessmusclethenkevin is Young Adult based on my interview. A young adult is a stage of life that Erikson’s theory of Psychosocial Development states a person goes through. Erikson’s theory states that every single person goes through the same 8 stages of life in different ways. So using his theory I interviewed lessmusclethenkevin. I believe that he is in front of his normal stage of development in comparison to his age. The reasons that lead me to this conclusion are that he showed remarkable maturity, incredible intelligence, and little interest in what the other Adolescents are doing. If my hypothesis is correct, this would mean his maturity/stage of development
Carnes who informed me of what it is like raising her son who has cerebral palsy and how the educational system worked with him over the years. Hearing what Ms. Carnes had to say about her experiences helped to give me a better understanding of what these parents have to go through, and it can give me an advantage if I have to work with parents who have children with disabilities. Because of her surprise at how much work the educational system is putting into training their new teachers, it created a high point in the interview, and I had a sense of pride in knowing that I am being trained to the best of my abilities. What truly surprised me is how much patience these parents have to have to raise a child with disabilities. To conclude, this interview made me slightly nervous over the amount of responsibilities I will have, but this course has helped me become infinitely more
My choice to attend FIU was one of the easier ones I’ve made so far in my academic career. I was drawn to the university as I felt a sense of community here that has only been further enhanced as a legacy, with both my mother and stepfather having completed their Bachelor degrees at this institution. The relationships and connections my parents were able to build here were a testament to FIU’s ability to bring together people from so many different backgrounds and create a family. I experienced an even greater connection as my stepfather found a lifelong friendship and mentor in an FIU staff member and honored him by making him the godfather of one of my younger brothers. Thus, FIU has been a special part of my life even before college was
