Recommendation Report Khalid Abdulwahab, ENGT 3318 Research and Reporting Barbier Brigitte Table of content Title page P1 Table of content P2 Abstract P3 Introduction P3 Mythology & Results P3-8 Decition and conclution P8-9 Citation P10 Abstract A company must whether make or buy a part. The company is capable of making it but needs the same machine used to make this part for other parts. My job is to do the research to find out if it’s between for the company to make or buy the part. My company designs a range of pressure vessels, separators and maintenance for oil and gas refineries and industry. The company steel designing expert for oil and gas industries. It was founded 1943, and is well known for its services in the oil and gas industry. We design and make the pressure vessels in house. The hydraulic port that is utilized as a part of the greater part of the pressure vessels is produced by the organization in-house, while the cylinder seals that is utilized by a few however not the greater part of
In the case “Metalcraft Supplier Scorecard”, the author uses an example of a decision-making problem regarding to which supplier should Metalcraft choose to lead to the topic of the Metalcraft supplier scorecard. Metalcraft, as a component designer and manufacturer, supplies a few largest automobile manufacturers with vehicle parts all over the world. As one of the tier 1 suppliers, Metalcraft offers and ships finished parts and components using in the automobile production process to automakers.
The three scenarios illustrated above clearly shows that the investment in the new machine creates greater value to the company, unless there should be some unexpected turnout in sales. By acquiring the Vulcan Mold-Maker machine Fonderia di Torino S.p.A will be able to replace labor intensive required semi-automated machines with automated machines, thus reducing medical claims. The company will also benefit from higher levels of product quality and lower scrap rates. Labor costs will be reduced by almost 298,334.4
I became interested in hydraulic fracturing, commonly known as “fracking”, after watching the documentary Gasland II. It chronicled the experiences of those who inhabit areas in proximity to active fracking wells in Pennsylvania. Detailing how their lives had been affected by the drilling. Focusing primarily on water contamination and illnesses that potentially could be linked to the chemicals used in the drilling process. By the end, I had questions about the actual process and what chemicals were used. I was also left wondering about the existence of environment laws and monitoring, if any, which would have ensured the use of only substances safe for humans as well as the environment. Why would this process have been allowed if it
During the mid 2000s hydraulic fracking was starting to grow because ‘It was a good way to meet energy needs.”(source 5). Hydraulic fracking has been said to release chemicals and pollute drinking water.

Imagine living in a third world country with overcrowded houses and no job. That is how, “about 22% of our country’s 5.2 million Native Americans live” (A Program of Partnership With Native Americans). Right now Native American people take up about 2% of all land in North America, most of it being around the area of North and South Dakota. Over the past week there have been protests over the insertion of an oil pipeline through the Native American people, mainly the Standing Rock tribe’s, sacred land. This new pipeline would, “threaten water supplies for the Standing Rock Sioux and millions of others downstream, and its route would destroy tribal burial grounds and sacred cultural land” (Healy). Many of the Native American people, along
anomaly and stated to be caused by radiation. We discontinued selling calves for two years.” Due to Alvarado being largely an agricultural community, many resident’s livelihoods were impacts due to their inability to grow crops or raise cattle without the fear of contamination or radioactivity. Additionally, when David went to confront the oil companies about the cancerous side effects undoubtedly due to their fracking operations, he was told that, “The fracking ingredients/chemicals were proprietary and they could not be released. I also unfortunately fought cancer through the statute of limitations and could not sue them to make them stop drilling”. These enormous gas companies lie, deceive, and take advantage of residents all to increase
Development of infrastructure and market for natural gas, a product of hydraulic fracking, has blossomed in recent years. Interestingly though, hydraulic fracturing, a process that’s been around since the early 1900s, has recently become a topic of significant controversy, especially through the expansion of large reservoirs throughout the United States, including the Barnett Shale, the Marcellus, and the Bakken. However, the unsustainable nature of hydraulic fracking demands that US attention be focused on expanding renewable infrastructure and bolstering actual sustainable development; hydraulic fracking is an economic distraction fueled by big business, and the benefits are grossly temporary. Simply stated, investment and expansion of the natural gas industry in the United States is a short-term solution to a long-term problem. First, the paper will provide an outline of exactly why investment and development of hydraulic fracturing in the US is not sustainable. This will be accomplished by looking at the economics of natural gas fracturing, as well as the environmental effects and the public health impacts. Then further evaluation will provide insight on the practicality and necessity of national investment in renewable infrastructure to catalyze the nation into a global future.
From the mining to burning, coal creates large amounts of pollution, and damages the environment. “Clean Coal” is a myth, there is only less dirty coal. This is why fracking should be used to obtain other fuels, which are cleaner. Fracking is a process in which different fluids are pumped into the earth at high pressures to drill a hole. Horizontal fracking is when after they reach a certain depth, the nozzle makes a ninety degree turn to reach areas that were previously unreachable. Once the deposit is reached, the fluid is pumped back out. The fluid is mostly water mixed with a proppant like sand or small ceramic balls with some lubricating chemicals.. Horizontal fracking was developed by George Mitchell in 1998. He discovered the
According to Throupe, Ron, Robert A. Simons, and Xue Mao,“the oil and gas industry in the U.S. is an economic driver that has evolved over the last 20 years” (206). The overall topic of interest in this paper is hydraulic fracturing “fracking” in the United States. The academic culture is Social Sciences and my research will be focusing on the economy discipline. My research question is: How has oil fracking influenced the economy in the United States over time?
The other solution of the third problem is why the company needs to decide and find appropriate suppliers in different product? Deer & John planned to make their own facility and start producing their own product. The company wants to take back design and manufacturing of skid steer loader from the company who
The Wilkerson Company is in the business of manufacturing valves, pumps, and flow controllers to sell to companies that manufacture water purification equipment. The company started out with a very unique and more efficient way of designing the valves and it was better than any of the other competition that also made valves. And this actually helped them establish a loyal customer base since they were so innovative and had the best quality at the time. They are looking for help since they are having issues with the decline in their company’s profits. The company wants to figure out exactly how and why their profits are as low as they are by reaching out to their controller and manufacturing manager. They want to seek additional help and
Drilling of New well: By analyzing the 3D seismic image rendered from the collected data, the decision and process of drilling a new well and connecting them is done. This reduces the lag in time and minimizes the amount of
The oil industry can not be discussed without mentioning the name John D. Rockefeller. Rockefeller changed the business of oil distribution. In the 19th century Rockefeller began his humble beginnings with a small investment, along with two other partners, in the oil refining business. Eventually Rockefeller upset at the direction of the company bought out his partners. He was now buying into refining and developing kerosene and other petroleum-based products. He later named this company The Standard Oil Company which by 1872 nearly owned all the oil refineries in Cleveland. In 1882, Rockefeller took all his holdings and merged them into the Standard Oil Trust. Through smart business
The oil and gas industries involve a high amount of documentation for both transportation as well as extraction and field services. Activities are highly regulated, and subject to oversight from Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), the Department of Transportation (DoT), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and the Department of the Interior (DoI). That said, the process of regulation is trending toward a more digitized system, with organizations like FERC having their own submission portals that implement a “fill-in-the-blank” platform to complete forms. However, not all forms have yet been converted to digital submission even in agencies with online portals, and other agencies still remain reliant on
