Investigation Project Reflection
The career I chose was history teacher and yes I am still thinking about going thru with this career. Because history is the greatest thing on the world to know it involves the past and present time and it’s just really exciting to learn about all the wars that went on the historical markers that went on during the span of life. The four qualities that were most important to me to become a history teacher was Graduating High school because that is just one of the stepping stones to be a history teacher and is the first most important thing before anything. Earning a bachelor’s degree and minor in history is important because that’s how you get places is with a piece of paper saying you did it. Obtaining a state
The first and main reason why I believe that I should be a teacher is that I like to work with young children. I would prefer to work in an elementary level grade. Considering myself as a creative person, that would be helpful to think up of multiple enjoyable as well as educational activities for the kids. I would dedicate a significant deal of time thinking of hands on activities for the kids.
At the beginning, my writing was pretty poor, I only can speak that time and I have never had good grades on writing. Integrated Project has helped me a lot to improve my writing in variety ways. For example, every class I write at least one paragraph “what have I learned today in this class”. Every day notes are becoming more and now it is more easily to write big assignment or essay. Second, this class helped me to analyze and translate information more clearly and fast. Thirdly I have learned what is “brainstorm”, and now I’m making ideas more fast than when I just came to the GIST collage. Furthermore, I started to put my sentences more carefully, because in the past my readers started to getting confuse with my assignment or essay. The
My short writes responded and connected with the in class readings. The short writes helped me to think outside of the box. It made it more clearly for me to connect the readings with myself and to understand the material better. The short writes helped me narrow down my ideas for the issue analysis papers. The short write made it clear to me which issues I was most passionate about. I connected my personal thoughts and experiments with the class readings, which is a part of being a good writer. I was able to express my own thoughts without having a right or wrong answer. I could interpret the reading in my own way, which I liked. I could have been more specific in some of the short writes and brought more of my own thoughts into the writing.
For the duration of this unit, by accomplishing many inventories and activities, I was given the opportunity to discover rather plenty about myself that I can apply to my life today and for many years to come. Prior to doing these inventories, I knew general information, for example, my hobbies, background, etc. although, following the activities I was able to explore different aspects, which includes things from my skills to learning style.
I wanted to become a teacher because I enjoy serving others, and as a lawyer I have the gift of talking too much. Teaching is so rewarding and gives me a sense that I am making the world a better place one student at a time. I feel proud of my students that always remember me as their teacher, even when they are in college, they pass by the school to see me or if they meet me on the street or any other location, they approach me and show gratitude and that is priceless!
The career I have chosen is an early, middle years Physical Education and Geography teacher. This career was a perfect fit for me given my four years of work at a summer day camp, as well as my eight years of hockey coaching. Working with children and helping them develop, is not only something I enjoy doing, but is my passion. I simply could not imagine my life any other way.
For me, the decision to become a teacher is more of a way of life than a career. I have always loved school, practicing at being school marm from a young age, and voraciously devouring every shred of education offered me in my career as a student. If it were possible, I would be a student for the rest of my life. And then I still would not have learned enough. As a teacher, I hope to instill this appetite for knowledge in secondary students. They are, after all, the future leaders of the world, and what better place to expand the minds of the generations to come than here in Appalachia where education programs, especially the sciences, which I plan to teach, are poorly funded and children’s dreams
Since I remember, I always wanted to be a teacher. For instance, my dream came true at the very young age of 19 years old. In my country, Guatemala, I got my Vocational Teaching Credential. Unfortunately, my long-awaited dream ended too soon. Six years later, my life completely changed when I moved to the United States.
Fortunately for me, I found my calling at a young age. My career choices have ranged anywhere between becoming a neurosurgeon to a child therapist. It took me a while to realize they all had a common theme, helping others. Growing up with an absent father, I always hoped for a male teacher to see what grown men are like. I noticed early on that there is a lack of male teachers in the education system, making me start to consider the educational field. In 6th grade, I met my jazz band director and great friend, Greg Mckelvey. I met him over six years ago, and to this day he still checks to see if I am okay every morning. His example has shown me that I can help others in the same way. Subconsciously, my interests had shifted towards teaching.
I thought very highly about teachers and education; to me, being a teacher was the best profession to be in. As I got older, I started to look deeper into the idea of being an educator, and my desire to become a teacher grew. My mother had a huge
After interviewing Laurie Kaffka I realized just how much I wanted to be a teacher. I am good for this career because I am very patient and love kids tremendously and would love to help them succeed and be the very best they could be. I know this career is not for everyone and I will constantly get criticisms and have to adjust to the ever changing curriculum. Despite all the negatives this career path entails it is still what I would like to do with my future.
My project was to showcase my abilities in makeup and sfx makeup. I practiced individual cuts and bruises on myself first. My mother donated her face to be the bulk of my project, and I transformed one half into a zombie, and the other, made up traditionally. I used several reference photos and videos during the process. It took about 7 hours, including clean up time. I was fighting off the flu at the time, and it was important to frequently wash my hands. I hope to get a job as a cosmetic/fashion makeup artist, whether it be freelance, at a set location, or in the special effects field. I would love to be able to do makeup for movies and TV shows in the horror/fantasy genre. I am also interested in skincare, which
Becoming a high school teacher had always been the goal. As a young child and growing up with a multitude of siblings, children were my life. The aspiration stemmed from a desire to teach the next generation, to be a leader for the mind and guide them onto the next phase of their lives. I saw my favorite teachers do it with the kind of patience and discipline that only a teacher could have and after job shadowing Scott Hatfield, the social studies and current events teacher at Summit Academy North Muddle School, I realized that I am not fit for that lifestyle like I thought.
The big question teachers ask me throughout my life is “what do you want to be when you grow up?” I never had an answer to that. Going into college I didn’t have a set plan as to what career I would like to pursue. However, I knew that I wanted to work with kids; I originally wanted to be a pediatrician. That career choice was based on my family wanting me to be successful, so I put my passion for working with kids and their passion together. As I began to focus on what I want instead of what others want, I changed my major to Early Childhood Education and chose the path of teaching as my career choice. I have high hopes for this career because teachers are always needed. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics(BLS), the employment rate for my career choice will increase by six percent from 2014 to 2024. In this world, education is valued and will help put people many steps ahead. The reason why I chose to be an elementary teacher is because I want to be able to motivate and inspire my younger generations.
The career that intrigues me is elementary education, which is kindergarten through 8th grade. I am engrossed in this career because I have little siblings that I had to teach them things like reading, math, and writing properly. Also, I just love, love, love little kids and to watch them grow. My personality goes with this career because I am a very kind and considerate person and I like people. My values go with this career because I like having the defiance and the opportunity to do my work in new ways and with independence and diversity. Also, I like feat which is having the feeling that what I do in my work is crucial and making a contribution. Lastly I value my workplace and having the pleasure of working in a satisfying, attractive work space where the supervisors and co-workers are supportive and friendly. I expect that being a teacher at a school will have all these conditions. Kindergarten and elementary school teachers work in public or private schools. Seeing students develop new skills and learn information can be very rewarding.
