Is Facebook More Harm Than Good And Our Society?

Facebook was celebrated its 10th birthday last year, in 2014, marked a miracle milestone for the biggest social network site in the world. Since the very first day, Facebook was faced so many obstacle to grow up from a college social network site to the home for everyone on earth can seek out and keep in touch with each other. Along with the develop of the company, they have blamed for everything, from making people lazy and addicted to increase cyber bully, privacy invasion, and loneliness. But in the other side, if a service is not good, why more and more people start to use Facebook and it is still growing strong? Like what Josh Rose stated in his article the pathos that: “The internet doesn’t steal our humanity, it reflects it,” (Josh Rose 619) beside the negative effect, the logos: Facebook still have much more positive effect and impact on human being in a way we never know before.

In the journalist Maria Konnikova, “How Facebook makes us unhappy?”, Konnikova divulges many aspects of people on social media through researching and experience, and finds how social makes us unhappy. I agree with Konnikova findings after reading her article. In addition, she concludes that if you are engaged, active, and creative you will not sorrowful on Social media, however if you are passively browsing and defuse to engage, you will be depressed.
