Animal Experiments
Do you think it is necessary to do cruel testing on innocent animals? My answer is no. Animal is highly expensive and it isn't even worth it, none of the animals get pain killers so they feel everything, and also animals are different from humans.
The U.S gives about $16 million dollars annually for testing. Taxpayers are the ones who are paying for this expense. The government is mishandling their money and using it for something so cruel and useless. While the government could be using this tax money for health insurance they rather be paying for animal abuse. The U.S is giving NHI a whole lot of money into something that is not even worth it.
Another reason why animal testing should not be justified is because the animals

Experimenting on animals will make everything very difficult. Humans are not 8 ounces and their brains are very different from ours. We humans develop in other ways that animals don’t. Testing on animals is not reliable because the way animals may react to medicine or products will be different for humans.
Although I do not agree with any abuse done to animals for businesses I can see why some people may test on them. Animals do not have any rights so obviously they are good for testing. Many people have benefitted from testing and so have some animal species. In an article from http://animal-testing.procon.org/ it says “The polio vaccine, tested on animals, reduced the global occurrences of the disease from 350,000 cases”. It has been recorded that animal testing has done many great things to benefit medical research.
Overall I think it's still wrong and inhumane. So much money has been wasted, animals have suffered, and so much time has been wasted on these poor animals. There should be some kind rule to give justice to these innocent animals. Animal testing never ever be justified even if it may benefit businesses and medical
Most individuals would be saddened knowing that animals were being harshly experimented on for human benefits. The testing of animals is deemed to be cruel and inhumane. However animal testing has saved thousands of humans lives. Some believe the sacrifice is worth the gains, but others disagree and suggest other testing methods. Ultimately, the question that arises on many different occasions, is if animals should be experimented on, or not.
To begin with, navs.org tells us that humans differ from animals in various ways, animal models will never be able to accurately recapitulate what happens in the human condition. Due to humans differing animals in various ways, the results aren't always effective. Animals being tested on things that humans and animals differ from in basically just killing animals for no reason. Besides, articles.baltimoresun.com states that 90 percent of medications approved for human use after animal testing were later proved ineffective or harmful to humans in clinical trials. As a result, 90 percent of the tests done are ineffective and harmful to humans so there’s no point of doing animal tests. You could save thousands of animals by not doing tests on them. Since animal tests aren’t always effective, people should stop doing them and save the
Animal testing is a common practice in current life that is necessary to ensure the safety of the humans that will be using the tested product. There are many good and bad aspects of animal testing, but the pros clearly outweigh the cons. Animal testing has been around since ancient times when animals were dissected to gain knowledge about the body and organs. The animals killed from animal testing make up a tiny percentage of the total animals killed every year. When just considering the animals used for food compared to the animals used for testing, testing animals make up a mere 2.6 percent of that number. Public safety far outweighs the lives of the small amount of animals killed.
For many years, the field of science has used animals in medical experiments worldwide, because of this innocent animals are being killed everyday. They are being tested with new drugs, new treatments, and by many makeup companies. Connecticut recently celebrated the passage of the “Beagle Freedom Law”, a law that requires laboratories to work with charities and rescue groups to find homes for research cats and dogs. Animals are being tested so humans do not have to be but animal tests do not reliably predict results in human beings, although animals are the closest thing to humans. Most experiments involving animals are flawed, wasting the lives of innocent animal subjects. Over 100 million animals suffer a year from testing. Testing animals is a lot more expensive than alternative methods and it is wasting government research dollars. Animal testing is not only a bad idea, but it is also inhuman and it should not be tolerated. The FDA should stop allowing animal testing. An animal does not give out the same results on a test than a human would.
Although, the Animal Welfare Act has not succeeded in preventing horrific cases of animal abuse in research laboratories. The animal welfare law is the only Federal law in the United States that regulates the treatment of animals in research, exhibition, transport, and by dealers. An article from ProCon.org states, “The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) found 338 possible violations of the Animal Welfare Act at the federally funded New Iberia Research Center (NIRC) in Louisiana.” Testing medical treatments on animals puts the animals in danger for results that are not
Is testing animals for medical treatments cruel? How do you feel about sending out treatments that were thought to work and cure someone’s disease when in truth the said treatment makes their disease worse or even kills that person? What if you were told that it could have been prevented? That is one reason why testing live tissue is an important and crucial part of developing treatments for diseases. Testing animals for medical treatments is reasonable because testing on non-living tissue will not get accurate results. Also, animal testing has created many cures to a broad spectrum of diseases on multiple different species.
I think we shouldn't test on animals. Animals are born to grow up and live a happy, healthy life not get tested on for mascara and lipstick. Animals die and get sick everyday due to animal testing. Some animals go blind, deaf, lose their legs or ears, make their young have birth defects, or worse they could die. They whine and get hurt, the scientists just continue their work, it is like they have no heart for these animals.
There is no doubt that, animal testing is cruel. Animals used for experiments are usually suffer food and water deprivation, being burned, poisoned and isolated. However, pain killers are not provided before or after the experiment. Additionally, experimenters implant wires in their brains and force feed chemicals to the animal. Mice grow tumors and rats are purposely forced to have seizures. It is inhumane to know creatures suffer for others benefit. Also, video footages have shown the fear the animal cowers when someone walks by their cage. Most animals are killed in front of others.
In conclusion, animal testing, is cruel to animals and very dangerous because of its unreliability. It also i just morally wrong these poor animals live in stress, fear, and pain and is forced upon them without their consent. It is largely inconclusive because animal anatomy is different from human anatomy; results of testing cannot be said to mimic the results in
Animal testing is remarkably cruel and inhumane. Animals that are used for testing are put in cages and isolated. They are usually, they are taken almost casually, housed appallingly, and denied anything close to a life (Newkirk). These animals are trapped their whole life and are stripped of their ways of life. Not to mention that within some of these laboratories, universities, and every other place that animal testing is conducted in, researchers treat animals very poorly. In one place, "workers were caught punching dogs in the face, screaming at the animals, and even simulating sex with each other while trying to inject a frightened beagle" (Newkirk). Not only do researchers do those cruel actions, but some "experimenters force-feed chemicals to animals, conduct repeated surgeries on them, implant wires in their brains, crush their spines, and much more" (PETA). Some may say that this does not happen and that animals do not experience pain anymore due to new laws, like the Animal Welfare Act (AWA). But, the truth is, these "laws" do barely anything, if nothing, to help stop the cruel
Animal testing has been going on for years; however, few question the ethics of testing medicines that would cure human diseases on animals. Various animals being tested in labs and cruelly force them to be a host of harmful diseases negatively affect their health. Animal testing is cruel and unusual punishment and should discontinue. Animal experimentation is a subject that many know of but don’t know much about. Although it is a big topic, people still don’t pay much attention to it because of their lack of information. Experimenting is a cruel process that causes many innocent animals to suffer. Many cases of violations towards experimenting have been found as well. Testing on animals is unnecessary when laying down the
Animals are not a reliable benchmark for testing because animals and humans have a completely different biological make up. In fact, PETA said that 72% of drugs shown to be effective in humans, have a different response in humans or are harmful to the body (Animal Testing Is Bad Science Point/Counterpoint). Disregarding the fact that some animal testing trials make it to human trials about 100,000 humans lose lives each year from taking prescriptions originally tested on animals(Animal Aid). Concluding that even if tests were to be done on animals, the drugs are not always safe, proving that animal testing can take more lives than needed and is horrifically
Today consumerism is huge part of how the world functions. Everyone purchases some sort of products. However the consumer may not think about where those products came from or how they came to be. Often many products are tested or taken from animals. This practice is very controversial as there has been evidence that the animals are being put at risk for society's benefit. Some believe that animal testing is necessary while others are very much against it. While many believe that animal testing is incredibly useful as it has contributed to many life saving cures and treatments, it is my opinion that it is inhumane and cruel.
115 million animals were used for testing in 2008 around the world. With the U.S. using the largest amount of those animals being at 17 million animals just in 2008. Not only does the U.S. use so many animals they also are the only country to use Chimpanzees at such a high number. The use of these animals especially at such high numbers is not needed. Doing these procedures on animals is dangerous to them, and can be to people. Animal testing is the use of animals in research for the purpose of determining the safety of different cosmetics, drugs, even foods. Because of how deadly it is for the animals used in animal experimentation it should become illegal, or there are other options. Two options are the use of Chemosynthetic livers
Animal testing began when William Harvey used animals 400 years ago to find out how blood circulated through the body. The "modern" era of animal research however started about 150 years ago with the rise of physiology as a science. It was very different back then. There were no anesthetics or effective painkillers, so the animals suffered a great deal, as did patients. Scientists learned that putting animals, or humans through that type of torture was inhumane. Consider having to have a leg amputated, which was not uncommon in those days due to the fact that infections got very severe without the use of antibiotics, without even so much as an anesthetic to control the pain. Now the treatment is there to help the pain, so
