It was five minutes past mid-night, Jude was sitting on his computer working on an essay that professor Engle assigned for all of his American History classes. Then suddenly, a video message appeared on his laptop. He was shocked to see his girlfriend tied up in a chair and crying with mascara running down her face. A guy with a mask showed up on the screen, and said: “If you want to see this pretty face again, you have to show me that you are willing to use your time and brain to get her back.” Jude asked why he was doing this, and the guy simply replied, “You can say I have a sick obsession with kidnapping girls and putting their boyfriends to the test.” The video disappeared in a blink of an eye. Jude was still in shock, not sure of …show more content…
He walked to a computer and accessed the website that was created. His first task was to find a map that indicated where the state of Palestine is located. Luckily, he knew where the maps were located in the FAU library. Jude felt confident that the first task would be easy; he walked toward the maps, located at the back of the library past the reference collection and near the microfilms. There were so many cabinets that had all kinds of maps in them. He remembered that his history teacher might have mentioned that Palestine and the Middle East are connected in a way. He started reading the labels on each cabinet until he came across a cabinet labeled the Middle East, next to two computers that are used to see the information on microfilms. Jude got a little excited because he thought to there was no way he would not find a map with the country Palestine on it. He took out one map at a time and looked at each one carefully, however, he still had no luck finding a map that had Palestine written on it. He continued reading the labels on the cabinet until he saw a cabinet labeled Asia, and started looking at every map in it, but he had no luck. Jude got so frustrated with himself; he took a deep breath and started to brainstorm what his next step should be. He thought to himself what can I use in this library that can be helpful, and the first thing that crossed his mind was the government documents. Which were

That same afternoon, as Katie entered her room, she found the financial specialist already in it. Having no idea how he got in, Katie was told that she may have AIDS and was told to take an AIDS test by the man, who also demanded her to show him the results. Katie was petrified with fear and felt as though she could no longer trust anyone. Katie proceeded to tell a female sergeant about the incident, who then told her male NCOIC. The NCOIC met with Katie privately and told her “I know what you are claiming, and all this talk about rape just needs to be over or it’s gonna get you in trouble.” Katie then went to sick call the next day and asked for an AIDS/HIV test so the specialist would leave her alone about getting one. Katie was asked by the nurses why she wanted this test, since she had one not too long ago. She explained to them that a soldier had forced himself on her and demanded this re-test. The nurses complied, but asked no further questions.

Comparable to Noah and her father’s relationship, Jude and her mother are combative with one another. She projects her anger into arguments and disobeys her mom out of rebellion. She wears to short of clothes out to parties and puts on heavy makeup to draw more attention to herself. In response to Jude’s desire for her mother’s love and acceptance, she seeks to fill the gap in other places. She befriends older boys, and mistakes their interest for love. “Does M. love me? No” (Nelson 80). She befriends ‘hornets’ that swarm around everyone to cause disorder. Night, Elie Wiesel’s memoir about his time in concentration camps, is a startling revelation with passages that stick to the mind, etched in the brain. Many of the passages in this book are about the views of human life, and can be perceived in many ways. One of these passages is, “The look in his eyes as he gazed at me has never left me.” This description is of a moment where Wiesel looking in a mirror at himself. He had not seen himself since he had left the concentration camp, and his expression of what he saw is a powerful statement with underlying themes and messages. Wiesel may never forget the look in his eyes, but readers may never forget his words and the meaning it holds.
James Rose carefully removed his silk blazer and then took the contents of his carefully tailored trousers and laid them on a table in front of the person he was talking to. The first item he laid out was his cell phone and then he proceeded to lay out a brand new pink ball gag, two pairs of handcuffs, and a syringe which was followed by a pair of pliers so razor sharp they could remove a finger at the bone and another pair of needle nose pliers that could remove a fingernail with a quick jerk.
Foremost, Jude was a husband that cheated on his wife and then ran away. Sadly, the community places the blame for his actions on Sula; when they learned about it they forgot about others “easy ways (and their own) and said [Sula] was a bitch. BoyBoy was another husband that left his wife. The story states that once BoyBoy “came back to town and paid her a visit” (35), but when he left he had “defeat in the stalk of his neck and the curious way he held his shoulders” (36). The characters of BoyBoy and Jude are also greatly significant to the development of the storyline.
