With their offense already showing signs that 2016 could be an explosive year, the Jacksonville Jaguars could end up being the team to beat in the AFC South, if they are able to hold off other teams with their defense. The Jaguars approached the issue head on this off season by using six of their seven 2016 draft picks for the defensive unit. While first round pick Jalen Ramsey might just have been the best defensive player available in this year’s draft, second rounder Myles Jack could also end up making a huge contribution from the strong outside linebacker position. Of course, all this depends if the Jacksonville medical experts are right and Jack’s knee is able to withstand the abuse that comes with playing the position in the NFL. Many NFL experts and analyst were projecting Jack to be a top five pick in 2016. The Jaguars might have ended up with the steal of this year’s draft, selecting the former UCLA star in the second round. Due to linebacker Paul Posluszny taking an off day this last Wednesday, Jack was able to get in some time with the starting defensive group. While the Jaguars say they are not holding back on the rookie, Jack had been practicing with the second string defense until then. Todd Wash, the Jaguars defensive coordinator was impressed with Jack’s …show more content…
The 36 sacks and 9 interceptions the Jaguars defense had as a team last year isn’t going to be enough to win a division with offenses like the Indianapolis Colts and Houston Texans put on the field. Jacksonville had the 31st ranked defense in 2015 and if that is going to improve this year, Jack is going to need to be a key part of the mix, regardless if he is starting or coming in during situational packages. He will need to be able to use his speed from both the inside and outside positions if he wants to emerge into the defensive force the Jacksonville coaching staff is counting
Jack not only changes the people around him and makes them see that there is a brighter day, but he also rebuilds their morals and confidence. He does this in various scenes of the movie. For instance, when Jack asked Dedmon to challenge the NCAA and all Dedmon was getting back was rejection letters. Jack asked him if he was
2: David Johnson: Johnson had the most productive season among running backs finishing with 1,239 rushing yards and 879 receiving yards for a combined total for 20 touchdowns. Johnson was only in his second year, therefore I expect him to be even better next season. The Cardinals also have a solid line, which always helps when you are a running back. I expect David Johnson to be an elite runner next season, leading him to finish as a top-3 running back.
Some fans are ready to cut or trade Jameis because he is not leading the Buccaneers to the promise land this year. Im not sure but I am certain that Jameis can not run the ball on running downs. Block on passing plays and play defense. Lets not just put all the blame on Jameis when it is a team game. He is the only quaterback that gets the critism when the team plays bad and get hit with a but when the team is playing well.
As of right now, the Bucs have Z-E-R-O players with any ability to pass rush. Sure, Robert Ayers is good at what he does, but don't expect more than 6 sacks out of him. William Gholston is a great “run stopping” left DE but don't expect him to get to the opposing QB very often. Last year we drafted Noah Spence and he has shown flashes of his skills, but he has been injured most of the year.
After Newton’s college career, he certainly raised questions about his ability to make it in the national football league. (NFL) On talent alone, he was the number 1 pick in the 2011 NFL Draft. But many football experts wondered openly if Newton would be worth the investment.
"A hell of a lot better than how they performed last season," according to the Buccaneers defensive coordinator.
JJ Watt never slacks in practice according to the coaches and players. He has a mission to be the best football player ever. No matter what JJ never takes a day off even if he is hurt he will do something to improve. JJ Watt lives by dream big work hard which he shows when he plays football.JJ Watt has been playing defensive end for the Houston Texans but he has worked so hard that he has been able to play offencive tight end for his team and has even scored many touchdowns that has helped his team in many tight situations.I believe this is a man who has worked so hard for his team and it has shown
Most of where he falls in the draft will be directly connected to how his knee looks when going through the pre-draft medical process. If things look great, then he should be fine. Probably
Logan admitted that he was anxious about the whole NFL draft process, but was happy with the position he went and the team he went too. That proved to be one of the best decisions this organization has made. Logan has always showed his dominance here not only by his play on the field, but also his off the field activities. He practiced and trained hard, always looking to get better. That kind of mentality brushed off onto other around him, making his team a stronger more unified group. Other players whether they were older or younger looked up to him for advice because of the way he carried himself while he was performing his job. He has an extremely laid-back personality off the field, but when it was time to compete, he was a defensive lineman’s worst nightmare. This quote pretty much sums up the kind of player he was to this team, “If I can run, I’m not going to sit out any game. I’m here to play football, not to watch and collect a check.”
The NFL Draft has come and gone, and many teams have vastly improved their roster for the 2017-18 season. However, several teams still have areas of need that demand addressing, even after the addition of rookie talent.
For starters, nobody should sleep on Jeremy Mincey. He doesn’t get talked about much but he was kind of the unsung hero of the Dallas pass rush last season leading the team in sacks with 6, and QB pressures with 39. He was also named team captain after Justin Durant went on IR. This is a contract year for him and at the age of 31 he won’t see many more. With more help along the defensive line he should get some more favorable match ups and have another nice season.
Entering the 2016 NFL season, the AFC North had statistically been the best division in football in terms of average wins per season (8.35 wins per team) over the past decade. Keep in mind that the division includes the hapless Cleveland Browns, which have had one winning season over that span, and the feat becomes all the more impressive.
Off topic a little, I don’t think Ryan Fitzpatrick is that good or worth $12 million he held out for. I do believe if he would have signed earlier in the offseason and worked out with the team, the
The true wildcard of the 2018 NFL Draft has to be LSU edge rusher Arden Key. He is viewed as a big-time boom or bust prospect, and it is very tough to gauge his value. With the Bears obvious need for an edge rusher, all options need to be analyzed and considered. With his down year and off the field issues, he is falling on some draft boards after being viewed as a future top fice draft pick before this season. Below is a review of this polarizing draft prospect.
Beau Allen didn’t play many snaps behind Cox’s and Logan a season ago but was able to start
