Jesua Calderon There are many problems in the world and i’m exposing them. The first problem is that some schools or maybe even all of them have no urinal wall. The last problem I have in my mind is animal abuse. Those are the problems I have with the community today. The urinals without walls are just a horrible creation! No men wants their property to be exposed or looked at while using the restroom. That would just be an awkward moment between men and children. They can fix this simple mistake by just putting the wall up. That would just be ignorant to let men look at other men while using the restroom in school or other place without the walls. Animal abuse is a huge problem to people who care about them. People in about every state
“Humane officers try to respond quickly to complaints, but get a lot of calls every day and can’t always respond the moment you call” (American humane). If there was a law where police or anyone did not need a warrant if they saw an animal being abused then the law would be abused. “The authority of law enforcement to seize and otherwise protect animals they suspect are suffering abuse could be crucial to preventing further incidents” (Dopplr). Animal abuse is not top priority like child abuse or as important as a home invasion but it still should be taken seriously. “Currently there are 15 states without specific provisions that call for said reporting, and allowing this could not only alleviate some of the burden from the victims themselves, but bring them peace of mind in knowing that there are many upon whom they can rely in a time of crisis” (Dopplr). Any household domestic animal should be under the protection that the human gets. “Humans can help prevent these cruel acts by informing others about what to do if they see such an act or by helping them to better understand how to train and care for their pets” (american humane). Animals are not as valued as humans because they are not intellectually superior like
The mistreatment of animals is a serious problem within our society for a variety of reasons. While current laws and conditions are improving, there is still a
Animal Cruelty is a problem that many ignore. People are oblivious to these animals and the negligence their owners show. Animal cruelty is an underlying problem in today’s society, and the only way to counteract these problems, is for this generation to do something about it.
Animal abuse is a quiet epidemic that is spreading throughout the world. The amount of animal abuse is growing and we must do something to stop it. Animal abuse is not putting a choke collar on a dog to keep it from biting an individual; it is not killing an animal for food. Animal abuse is the knowing or intentional "(1) tortures or serious overworks [of] an animal"; the "(2) failing unreasonably to provide necessary food, care, or shelter for an animal in his custody; kills, injures, or administers poison to an animal; [or] (6) causes one animal to fight with another" (Title 3). The majority of states in the U.S. classify abusive treatment toward animals as a misdemeanor. A misdemeanor is punished by a fine of
Everyday, every second that passes by, animals across the globe are mistreated in their so-called “home”. Stop animal abuse! Abusers of animal are five times as likely to harm humans. Nearly half of the time victims who stay in violent households do so because they are afraid for their own animals. Countless more never leave the home for their very reason. This issue should be further looked into by identifying states with poorly laws against animal abuse, the wrong doing of taking advantage in the use of human resources, and having absolutely no heart in having a friendly companion.
Animal abuse awareness is very important because it is showing that harm to an animal is not okay, it is a crime, and should not be taken lightly. Animals feel too, “dogs don’t hide what they feel” ( Marc Bekoff, The Emotional
In this week reading, “Calling All Restroom Revolutionaries”, by Simone Chess, Alison Kafer, Jessi Quizar, and Mattie Udora Richardson they expressed three main points throughout the article. The first main point in this article is that “ bathrooms are easier to access for some of us than for others.” This is an issue that some people don’t know about or don’t even think is a problem. Recently this has been a hotbed topic, within the media but I have been aware of this problem for sometime now. Many of my close friends have expressed their concerns about the bathroom situation well before this became a newsworthy topic. In addition, this topic has always bothered me because it is a bathroom and people mostly use the bathroom for two purposes.
Every 60 seconds an animal is abused. Dogs, cats, horses, and many other types of animals are being neglected and tortured everyday, yet resulting in few and minor consequences for the perpetrators. Animal abuse is prevalent in the United States and has been an ongoing issue since the 1970's, and prior to. Society as a whole has chosen to avoid the facts and arguments about animal cruelty, because to some it is seen as acceptable and typical. It becomes much more frowned upon when people actually see the results of the cruelty, especially in the media.
At Buchanan High, there are no feminine hygiene products available for students in the bathrooms. The lack of feminine hygiene products in the girls’ bathroom at Buchanan is an issue because girls don't always have pads or tampons with them at all times, especially if a girl has an irregular menstrual cycle. They should be in the girls’ bathroom where they are easily accessible so if a girl gets her period suddenly, she doesn't have to walk all the way to the nurse to get a tampon or pad. Girls shouldn't have to miss classes or face embarrassment because of this normal biological process. A solution for this problem would be to have a pad and tampon dispenser with a slot for us to pay for them. Some might say, why waste Buchanan's money for the dispenser and risk possible money theft when pads and tampons are available at the nurse? According to Sustainable Supply, each dispenser cost $352, and if they were to install this in all three of the girls’ bathroom it would cost $1,056 which is not that expensive and well worth their money. At Clovis North, they have a dispenser in which you pay 25 cents, and in return you receive a pad. Dania Al Khadour, a sophomore at Clovis North, mentioned how she finds it more convenient and less embarrassing to have these products in the bathroom as opposed to the nurse. She also notes there are no issues with breaking into the dispenser and it is a secure place for the money to be in. This solution will greatly decrease the embarrassment of girls because if a student gets her period unexpectedly, walking all the way to the nurse to ask for a pad or tampon is highly embarrassing and inconvenient. Given all the excessive things Buchanan funds like co-curricular activities, they definitely can use their money elsewhere for once and make this natural biological process not affect our class time or
Even though it may not seem like it , animals being abused on purpose is a very common issue today. There are people who think that animals do not deserve any respect (Missimer). They look at animals as slaves or something they can just push around and force to do anything. Why get the animal if you're not going to respect it. Some of the people may have experienced violence themselves (Missimer). Nine times out of ten people that neglect their animals , have experienced some type of violence or abuse in their own lives. Being abused or in
The most often reported cases of animal abuse happen to be to dogs, cats, horses and livestock. Back in 2011, 1,423 cases of animal abuse were reported, including: 70.1% involving dogs, 20.9% involving cats, and 24.1% involving other animals. Undercover investigations reveal that abuse most often happens in the factory farm industry. Due to the weak protections afforded to livestock under state cruelty laws, only the most shocking cases are reported. Few of these cases are ever prosecuted.
Animal Cruelty is a growing problem in today's society.
Each year, the most extreme cases of animal abuse receive media attention. Yet, the animal cruelty problem is more widespread than is reported in the media. Animal abuse and neglect is a nationwide issue, affecting thousands of animals nationwide. Cruelty to animals is defined as the infliction of physical pain, suffering or death on an animal, beyond what is necessary. There is a need to stop abusers from acting in such a horrific manner–preventing the neglect and suffering of the animals. What causes animal abusers to act in such a cruel way towards animals? How are cases of animal abuse being managed, and how should cases be handled? Finally, does the status of animals in society contribute to the rate of their abuse?
Obviously girls getting their periods is natural and shouldn't be criticized. But the sad fact is, it is. Girls are getting bullied and embarrassed for it. This problem occurs because we don't have the stuff girls need when they start. Yes, most people remember to bring products, but the some that forget, get really embarrassed and not a good day. This is why having dispensers in girl's bathrooms is important.
For many years now the world has seen controversy over the rights of animals and if they think and feel like humans do. Many people see animals as mindless creatures or as food, while others think they have emotions and can feel pain. In other countries animal protection laws are in place that are strictly enforced and seem to work well with the system. In the United States however; some of the animal rights laws are considered to be useless and under-enforced (Animal Legal & Historical Center). More people today are beginning to see that animals should have rights and should be protected by laws and regulations (Animal Legal & Historical Center). Sadly there are many people residing in the United States who don’t take animal rights or protection laws seriously. These people abuse animals in many ways, including food industries that disobey the regulations set in place for the slaughter of animals used for consumption. Luckily for the animals there are people who fight for their rights and the enforcement of laws called animal rights activists.
