In Australia the Jewish community are composed of three main streams of Jews, either; Orthodox, Conservative and Reform. The education system is seen as the most striking characteristic of an Australian Jewry. Christianity is the major religious tradition today and has been since around 1945. Many of the British who first came to Australia, either as convicts or free settlers were Christians. They formed the huge base for Christianity to rise to the top religion in Australia before they began to let more immigrants enter. In the 1947 census, 88% of the population (not including Aboriginals because they were not considered in the census) stated they were Christian. The remaining 12% was mostly people who didn’t respond to the question. Today not much has changed the percentage of Christians has slightly decreased because of a rise in new religions. In the census of 2011 it is seen that out of 21.5 million people just under half, 42% classed themselves as Christian and around 8% said they were of a different religion. The number of people who said they had no religion was hugely increased at around 25%per cent. Today, even with the growing amount of Islam Buddhism and Hinduism, Christianity still remains the major religious tradition.
The investigation assesses demographic shifts to Palestine in the context of the Arab-Israeli Conflict. It more specifically inquires about the impact of Jewish immigration on Palestine in terms of the effects it had on Jewish-Arab relationships in Palestine. It seeks to determine the extent the third, fourth, and fifth aliyahs of 1919-1939 had on the economic development of the Israeli State and its social implications. Monographs and general texts will be used to provide background on the conflict, including the rise of Zionism, the British Mandate, the White Paper, and the Peel Commission. This context will also be used to critically analyze the role of Jewish immigration to Palestine and the role it played in land reforms, rioting, and the implementation of restrictions set by the British government on Palestine. Historian Jonathan Elukin, author of Living Together, Living Apart, presents the integration as a success process with rare, and special cases, of failure. On the other side of the spectrum is historian Raymond P. Scheindlin. Scheindlin’s novel, A Short History of the Jewish People, presents many cases of integration between the Christians and Jews that led to massacres and brutal endings for the Jewish community. Out of all of these religious groups that have suffered, no one group has suffered so much as that of the Jewish religion. For some, it seems as if it was in another life time, but for others it will be something they will never forget. The holocaust was the extermination of the Jewish heritage and small ratio of other people whom Hitler considered inferior. It took place during 1933 to 1945. Adolf Hitler and his creation of the Nazi party in Germany led to this effort. About 12 million people were murdered, half of them being Jews. When Hitler took control over Germany that is when everything changed. Hitler had very strong prejudice against the Jews. He wanted to create a perfect race of German Christians all over the world. His followers, who were the soldiers in the concentration camps, were Nazis. They enforced all killing that Hitler wanted done. Also, there were many others involved in this massive genocide. Various race and religions supported this mass genocide and different groups of people were being killed, not only Jews. For instance, there were many doctors who ran tests on people, but didn’t care if the patients were hurt or even killed, which in most cases they usually were during the process. All surgeries were performed without any anesthetic causing real pain and harm to the patients. There are so many things that happened in this time period that is impossible to imagine or just are too horrible to think about.
My current passions are focused around the develop a Jewish intentional community that will be centered around a school. Whether it develop as a center/school first followed by a community that builds itself around it, I am uncertain. Yet as for the school, I see it following a similar model that is found within congregational schools. When reading Aron’s article on Congregational Schools, I found four principles of enculturation that I found similar to that which I have envision the school I would want to create.

The state of Israel was founded in 1948. Jews are the descendants of an ancient people called the Hebrews. The Hebrews’ country fell to a series of conquerors and the Jews scattered across the world.
