Cre·a·tiv·i·ty - the ability to make new things or think of new ideas. The world has seen new ideas over and over, and we wouldn’t be the people we are today if it weren’t for those ideas. What if John F. Kennedy hadn’t pondered about what lies beyond our atmosphere, and we never explored the moon? What if Karl Benz never thought of that seemingly crazy idea to build an automobile? Or, what if the Wright Brothers just gave up on their idea of the airplane? If they never let their creativity prosper, who knows what kind of world we would be living in today? More importantly, what would your life look like if you never let your creativity take control every now and then?
As Albert Einstein’s famous quote says, “Creativity is intelligence having fun” (“15 Famous”). This quote isn’t necessarily saying that you have to be smart to be creative. For example, take one of the most looked up to filmmakers of all time, John Lasseter, into thought. He isn’t particularly the smartest book on the shelf, but he represented his creativity through the form of animation. He has created a legacy in the film world, creating Pixar, and inspiring the hearts of children everywhere with his

From virtual reality, to the music we listen to, it’s present with every step that we take. Video games are being made every day, and with them come something different. If creativity didn’t flourish within the video game world, we wouldn’t have the variety of games to select. It’s the same concept with the automobile industry; for instance, take a look at the Tesla Model X. Falcon wing doors, auto-pilot, auto-summon, all electric (Aylesworth). That’s just to start the list of its incredible features. Elon Musk had an idea to make a safe, practical, and smart car, and he did just that. Another man with a crazy idea, Steve Jobs, started a smartphone revolution in 2009. Look where we are today, all thanks to a man with a creative idea, who put it into
I watched JFK and was very surprised, I had not seen it before and thought it was about the life of John F Kennedy whilst he was in the White House but it was not. It was about his assassination and what followed, how everyone was so quick to call it an attack by a lone gunman but how evidence could point toward a conspiracy. The characters were well introduced and the accuracy of detail was very good. The facts were laid were laid out and the way of life in the 1960's was quite accurately shown. The way the characters smoke and drank during the day, at home, on airplanes and in the work environment, and also the attitudes of the white population towards the African Americans and homosexuals were true to life. It was a very revealing
In this following essay I shall be discussing creativity and its myths. It is believed that only certain people like musicians, actors or painters can be creative but I believe Creativity is not simply a set of skills. There is no specific definition of intangible nature of creativity. Creativity can allude to numerous things that contrast and which likewise over laps numerous different components. “creativity is defined as the tendency to generate or recognize idea, alternatives, or possibilities that may be used to solving problems, communicating with other, and entertaining ourselves and others”(Robert E. Franken: 2002). It additionally relies on upon the way of the individual what are their attributes and the imaginative capacity. It is said that managers or administrators often mix creativity with innovative things, yet imagination accompanies development; inventiveness is simply a thought and development is completing the thought and transforming it into a business and giving it to the business. There is
Imagination and creativity are essential qualities that help innovators have breakthroughs in science, math, technology, and many other things. To be a creative individual, one must imagine the impossible and improbable. For example, Michael Endie had to imagine the quicksand that engulfs life if it has sorrow thoughts. The sand can be directly connected with depression and how, once it has a person, it constantly drags them down. On the other hand, to be imaginative, an individual must think outside the parameters of our modern world. For example, in The Neverending Story Tinys had a pet snail for transport similar to a horse in our world. Michael Endie had
a ‘10 year rule', where this person is known to have". . . two bursts of
One thing we quickly relate creativity to a lot is having the ability to also be artistic, like being an oil painter, a sculptor or even one or one of the performing arts like ballet. People seem to correlate the two together often and seem to forget the other creative characteristics. Having quick problem solving and quick critical thinking skills are also great traits when it comes to being creative and imaginative.
Creative genius is the ability to think unlike the general population in order to solve a problem or to come up with an imaginative innovation. Geniuses tend to have a range of areas of expertise rather than one subject that they focus on so that they can use multiple angles to approach their work. The British Medical Journal separates a genius’s creative process into three stages: acquiring information, subconsciously contemplating this information over a long period of time, and finally reaching a “eureka moment,” at which point they synthesize the information into a coherent product. Creative geniuses lead a crucial role in society because they promote infrastructural and cultural development. Thus, it is necessary to maintain the mental health of creative geniuses in order for them to have a high quality of life and for society as a whole to continue to develop.
One possible definition of creativity is ‘imaginative activity fashioned so as to yield an outcome that is of value as well as original’ (NACCCE, 1999, page 31). Traditionally, creativity has been associated with exceptional people or those who are artistically gifted (Education Scotland, 2001). However, in recent years, distinctions have been drawn between ‘big-C’ creativity (an act of genius) and ‘little-c’ creativity (‘everyday creativity’) which enables people to problem-solve and adapt to change in everyday scenarios (Kersting, 2003, Craft, 2014; May, 2007). Nevertheless, Planche (2012) claims that many people do not perceive themselves as creative. The concept of everyday creativity is important, for if this premise is accepted, it may be said that everyone has creative potential (Sternberg, Grigorenko, and Singer, 2004).
Consider the educationalist professor Sir Ken Robinson's words "If you are not prepared to fail, you can't be original" (Ted). By saying this he had defended that people need to be brave, and then he adds that today's education system leads students to a certain and specific way. So students don't have a chance to fail because they have nothing to do by their own. If a student ignores the system, he will be a uneducated person, in general uneducated people has less value in today's society. Otherwise, if he accepts it, and goes where system leads, he will lose his creativity. To be accomplished in this life, education is one of the most important things. That means you need to be successful in your education life, and as Sir Ken Robinson said: "Failing is the worst thing a student can do in this system" (Ted). If you fail, people will just stigmatize you. So today's education system and situations in life kills the creativity.
The lack of creativity within the society has been going for too long, in fact, it seems to be irreversible to fix the damages unless we decide to take action. The lack of originality began within the school education system, which is the main driving force of the lack of originality among the children to loss their abilities and confidence of themselves to speak and think freely without any type of hesitation or fear. The children loss these wonderful skills over time as they are learning in an education system that ends up failing them to improve and strive to become better people within their society. Creativity is one of many skills that rising businesses are looking for young adults which brings concerns to our school system and our economic growth as a society.
Creativity can be described as the ability to bring something into existence; into being. Having said that, nobody really knows exactly what it is: Creative moments can mysteriously show up in certain situations and in context, while it can also fail when really needed.
Creativity is defined as the tendency to generate or recognize ideas, alternatives, or possibilities that may be useful in solving problems, communicating with others, and entertaining ourselves and others [1].
The concept of creativity and how it originates is something that has been subject to change over the past few decades. Initially creativity was thought to be only attributed to a few individuals who were ‘gifted’ with these ideas through special hereditary transmitted traits; that the genius or highly talented individual was born with the skill of creativity and not made (Glaveanu, 2010). This was what was known as the ‘He-paradigm’. A paradigmatic shift later occurred that then moved psychology from embracing only the ‘He-paradigm’ to incorporating the ‘I-paradigm’. This paradigm shifted away from the idea of creativity as being something purely innate to believing that all individuals have the potential to be creative. It
What is creativity? Is there any connection between creativity and intelligence? What are the role of creativity in classroom and their educational implications? What suggestion can we think of increasing its role in teaching learning practice?
Creativity, at its foundation, in comprised of fluency, flexibility, and originality. It is fluent in that the ideas are cohesive, and, once they are finally brought to light, make sense. Fluency also directly correlates to just how many new ideas may be generated. Ideas that are thought to be creative must be original, not previously mentioned, and they also must be flexible, innovative, and ever-changing. “Flexibility refers to how different the ideas are from one another,” possibly producing “several distinct solutions” at a single time, (Carpenter, Bauer, & Erdogan, 2010). These produced ideas must also be unique and original, which helps differentiate creative ideas from stolen or borrowed ones.
All things created in over the many years is categorised as something that’s useful, valuable, clarity, innovative, novel or…creative. The two philosophers Larry Briskman and Carl Huasman have written up an essay on their belief of what creativity is, there understanding and notion of creativity both include a criteria to match for a product to be creative. If creativity is based on criteria then we can agree that criteria are based on a set of rules to abide with, and then if that’s the case creativity is defined in an objective perspective. Creativity has many views in this case the philosophers have explained in in a non-psychological way. Creativity is more based on a subjective and psychological view which will be explained in detail later on in the essay.
