This could make it difficult to come up with new ideas for fan development in the future. However, our communities are always changing. Right now it might be best to target the youth demographic, but in 10 or 20 years there might be a whole new group of people that have not been exposed to the sport in a way that would connect them with it. Maybe by the time I graduate and work my way up to a senior manager there will be a larger amount of immigrants that I could focus on. Or there is a greater outcry for programs geared towards women. Maybe what was once working is no longer enough and new developments and programs need to be made. With the NHL celebrating its centennial and gaining more and more attention from sports fans every year, there is a huge possibility that there will new demographics showing interest in the

I am Caucasian and my best friend is Asian. Jimmy Fong was born in Guangzhou, China, before he moved to America. I met Jimmy shortly after he moved into my neighborhood, along with his parents and his four grandparents. His English was far from perfect as a result of Chinese being the primary language in his home. I took it upon myself to assist in his acclimation to life in Pennsylvania. I spent time with him going over words that he did not know and teaching him the ways of American culture. Many other students were less accepting of Jimmy and wouldn’t be his friend because of the way he looked and talked. I have always stood by his side and helped him deal with the bullies. As we have gotten older, Jimmy faces much less discrimination based

He spent most of his time either writing sports stories on his new machine or frolicking in the boggy wetlands of the Everglades. However, Hiaasen became enraged after frequently watching the national park being demolished for new highways, shopping malls, and resorts year after year. Soon, he attended Emory University, where he wrote satirical humor columns on the student newspaper. A year later he transferred to the University of Florida, where he graduated with a degree in journalism.
From 2005/06 to 2014/15, the National Hockey League’s (NHL) revenue has grown from $2.27 billion US to $3.98 billion US. A large portion of this is due to the fact that the world of hockey is constantly changing in many aspects. The way it is played, the way we watch, the way it is coached, and the way players are scouted and traded. Almost everything on the operations, media, player, and fan experience side have gone through changes and alterations because of technology. Technology has opened up a plethora of doors within the sport and has had such a big impact on not just revenues but other areas as well. One of the largest affects come on the fan experience and involvement side. Changes outside of actual gameplay such as this one are often driven by revenue but are ultimately acted on by the current technology in today’s digital society. In order to find out the extent of these changes, three questions must be answered. How has the viewing experience and accessibility changed for fans, how has the media and technology affected fan engagement, and has today’s digital society taken away from any of hockey’s tradition. Today’s digital society is constantly affecting the NHL and world of professional hockey’s fan experience and involvement because of technological offerings and advancements used by members of the industry in profit driven efforts.
