Working in Mental Health, the biggest judgement error i see would be stereotypes. When people think of Mental Health they picture padded rooms and straight-jackets. In movies, yeah, but in reality one in four people have a mental illness. Not everyone with a mental illness is alike. Most of them function just like you and me. They have families and jobs just like we do. Sweeping generalizations are other judgements used when referring to mental illness. Some people I work with have family members who have mental illness, and they often try to compare the patients we have to that family member because of what they have seen and experienced.
