Cue spotlight on the States’ very own Justin Gossman. Full time model, part time showman.
Without exception, whether boy, teenager or man, will have no difficulty at all, in admitting that even to this day, they dream of being a rock star. Characterising one does not incur by the music that you listen to, but also, attitude, state of mind, and some if not many may tell you simply, your way of life... Persuade it out of yourself by trusting your gut instincts, grow your hair to your shoulders, and not only sing, but perform (while playing guitar like Townsend headlining Glastonbury right there), in your mirror, limbs everywhere. Make it time to chop all surrounding yourself and go ahead, let yourself fly. Don’t follow the crowd, get in fucking

This is definitely not by chance which is noting, he has no shame in self admitting a love for the legend. JG exploded onto the whole scene when he shot with Bradley Elterman in the latter’s residence abroad. He had scarce experience of being in front of the camera before but BE saw a real genuine, self-confidence which oozed cool that would really distinguish in photos. He was right. The pictures are outstanding and he had Gossman posing in every pose and any props thinkable! A strong combination was formed almost there and then sharing many mutual likes and dislikes. This was a major stepping stone for Justin for him to make a real dent in the industry, and he has really taken off since, appearing on the catwalk for many high profile labels, anywhere and everywhere, all around the world. You can chuck anything at him whatever comes his way in the future, a certain fact is that, Justin Gossman will continue rocking to his own infectious somewhat untraditional rock n roll beat.
A final note worth touching on is his love of playing music with his long locks and vintage guitar collection. He certainly unites himself to an authentic rock ‘n’ roll
Elvis Presley is one of the biggest names in rock and roll. Singer, musician and actor he was an American icon. He is best known as the King of Rock and Roll. His musical influence included the country and pop music of the time, the gospel music he sang in church and the black R&B music he listened to as a teenager (Comprehensive History of Elvis Presley’s Dynamic Life). Elvis has influenced American culture not only while he was living but also in today’s 21st century. It wasn’t easy for him to be accepted; in fact many adults and the older generations of his time were appalled by his performances and his music. In time though, people were able to accept him and he became well-known all over the world. Even after his death Americans are
First, Justin is one of those people who just never gives up. Throughout his years, people have only shown negativity towards him, telling him he will never succeed, and have treated him poorly. Second, he never lets haters get to him or ruin his vibe. Some have treated him like nothing, acting as if he shouldn’t
For as long as I can remember, my dad always had his music playing. In the car, in the house, everywhere. In time, his music became my music; and it still is. Though my dad’s music taste was vast, his staple was Van Halen. Little did I know how much that band would shape me as a person. While most fans were in love with David Lee Roth, (the singer) I was all about Eddie Van Halen; the greatest guitarist in the world. The greatest because to me, he isn't just a guitarist. He’s an innovator, a genius, and one of my biggest role models. While I think all art is powerful, it’s all subjective, and to me, Eddie Van Halen is the perfect example to why art is so powerful. For he has created the passion, perseverance, and creativity that lives inside me today.
The vocalist and guitarist of the Grateful Dead, Jerry Garcia was one of the most influential musicians of the twentieth century, impacting both the musical and cultural realms. Jerry Garcia was fated to become one of America’s most influential people ever since he was born into Jose Garcia’s household. During his childhood, Jerry Garcia lived in an environment that fueled his musical development and experienced many events that pushed him closer changing the path of American music and culture. Jerry Garcia was a member of the American 1960’s counterculture and really embodied the ideals and goals of the group as a whole. Thanks to the influence of his adolescent development and his
"He lived and he loved the songs that he wrote and the songs that he sang. He’s a man of great courage. He’s kind. He’s gentle and he has God-given talents. He chose a career he was hoping he could make a difference in. That career made a difference in
What would you do if the one thing you enjoyed the most in the world became your career? You’d enjoy going to work everyday, right? The Beach Boys got to live their dream of being musicians. This group of five teenagers started off as a regular high school band, and their successes as ended as they changed the future of pop culture. Each band has their own story to tell of their group’s origin and their successes.
Many people do not realize what it means to be a musician, much less a famous musician. You need to be smart, talented and charasmatic. Dave grohl has achieved all three of these things. He has completed the goals of many young men, including myself. Dave has been in many successful bands and written and performed multiple hit songs. Dave Grohl Has many admirable attributes but considering my time constraints, I will only touch a few of them.
After the 9/11 attack, Americans became enraged with those from the middle east, specifically Muslims. Raisuddin Bhuiyan, who goes by Rais, was a Muslim who immigrated to The United States, was unfortunately a victim of this hate. After being shot and nearly killed by Mark Stroman, Rais's faith after the shooting became very strong, realizing he was given a reason to live.
Brad Gautney brings all of us into the living room of the small house, in Malawi, Africa, to explain a problem we are experiencing. He begins to speak, and he explains to the group that we are using an excess amount of water by flushing the toilet every time a person occupies the bathroom. He clarifies this information by also explaining the water tower, in the backyard, will empty if we continued to flush every time. He asks us if we have heard the phrase, “if it’s yellow, let it mellow. If it’s brown, flush it down”. I heard this phrase before, and I knew the meaning of this statement because I have grown up with three older brothers, so I knew the action he wanted us to take. Mr. Gautney instructs us to not flush the toilet after every single
One of the most influential figures in modern music to this day, Jimi Hendrix, was a complex and unusual man for his time. Being most well-known for his eccentric performances and style, both in fashion and in music, Jimi stood out in the western world 's very uniform Rock’n’Roll scene. Playing with his teeth, burning his guitar, rising to fame in a matter of weeks all contributed to his remarkable life. Jimi Hendrix’s life and rise to fame were exceptionally unordinary and extraordinarily influential. Filled with curiosities from the day he was born to his tragic drug-related death, Jimi was unusual. Accordingly, these curiosities are what makes Jimi Hendrix such a notable figure in history.
until now, rock has been the vehicle of expression for many around the world. It has been the
The artist I have chosen for this project is John Roger Stephens, also known as John Legend. Born on December 28, 1978 in Springfield Ohio, John showed musical potential at an early age. His grandmother taught him to play his first instrument, which was the piano. He grew up playing and singing in his church’s choir. His talent at that age was amazing, labelling him a child prodigy. Growing up, he listened to music from Michael Jackson, LL Cool J, Boyz II Men, and MC Hammer, very influential African American artists. They were able to change the way people viewed African Americans with their music, and make the world a more accepting place. John knew that he wanted to become a vocalist, and was determined to make his dream
When people hear the genre “rock and roll,” they often think of performers like Elvis Presley, AC/DC, and Aerosmith. Those bands have provided the foundation for rock and roll, but the newer bands have to carry over from the bands of the 1960’s, 70’s, and 80’s to the bands of the 1990’s and the 2000’s. The new generation of bands has just as much, if not more, popularity than the bands of the older generation. Bands do not gain popularity just by showing up to rehearsal, though. Gaining popularity can take years of making music, and sometimes establishing credibility takes more time than other bands. The more popular bands that have many fans are bands like Three Days Grace, Alter Bridge, and Avenged Sevenfold. These three bands have had
On the stage because of his emphasizing in the song not only with voice but also with he’s manners. Offstage it’s because he’s a rangy 6ft 3in, cheekbones like violent slashes, hair up.
Throughout his years of manic drinking, touring and entertaining, Ronnie never managed to let fame take over him ‘I wouldn't call myself an actor or a singer for that matter, just a journeyman. I feel I must have a talent somewhere for doing something but I'm still not terribly sure what it is. I suppose it's a talent for being myself’ (“yquotes.com”, 2017). Drew’s authentic character outshines his international recognition and his passion for music never dampened ‘A song is communicating with people, Entertainment is a different area’ (Drew, 2008 pg.72). Overall, reverence and respect for the great Ronnie Drew is undying and is still part of today’s culture throughout Ireland and indeed, the world. His gravel-like voice and for generations to come, Drew’s influence will continue to inspire musicians, actors, and
