But Kathie, despite her involvement in every death in the movie, does not fully desire the warpath. She has complex wishes, involving financial security and love on her terms. Jeff returns for the final time to Whit’s Lake Tahoe manse to find Whit dead; their bargain to leave Kathie to the police failed when Kathie again unloaded her power. Kathie, no longer burdened by Whit, could have taken the plane out of America alone with saddle bags full of cash, yet she lingered around the crime scene awaiting Jeff’s arrival. She could have phoned the police and had Jeff walk into a trap that directly paralleled Eel’s apartment, yet she changed into black dress that eerily resembled a nun’s outfit. Kathie truly desired to return to Mexico, with Jeff,
Health practitioners must understand that family systems play a role in the health of the individual family members. For example, in a household with increases tension children might present with physical manifestations of anxiety. “Tonight I gotta cut loose, footloose, kick off my sunday shoes. Jack, get back, come on before we crack.” (Footloose, Kenny Loggins) For this essay, I chose to watch Footloose made in 1984 and directed by Herbert Ross and Footloose made in 2011 directed by Craig Brewer. Both movies centered around the town of Bomont, a secluded town with out of the ordinary beliefs. In this town, dancing and partying of any sort was strictly against the law and teenagers were seemingly miserable. There was little to no self expression and even listening to provocative music or any music too loud, could get you a ticket with a hefty fine. The reason behind the strict rules is that several years back, five teens from Bomont High School died in a car wreck after they were drinking and dancing too much. Each of these movies have some things in common, but have more differences than anything. Some of the main differences are the opening credits of each movie, how and who Ren arrives to Bomont at the beginning of the movie, the “chicken” races between Ren and Jeff, and the book burning in town square.
In the film ‘Her’, directed by Spike Jonze, the main protagonist,Theodore Twombly conveys the idea of alienation via technology and its possible effects, due to his depression via his divorce and his easy going relationship with an artificial intelligence operating system named Samantha. The idea of alienation and technology and its possible effects on human relationships is conveyed via the quote, “Sometimes I think I have felt everything I'm ever gonna feel. And from here on out, I'm not gonna feel anything new. Just lesser versions of what I've already felt.” Theodore recently experienced is his divorce depression, and therefore becomes vulnerable, anti-social from society and isolated himself, by spending time with the artificial intelligence
Newsies, a classic musical based on the late 1800’s is a very entertaining and family friendly musical-- except for the few profane words. On a cloudy, partially rainy saturday morning, I laid out on the couch and watched the movie from the comfort of my own home. I was hesitant to watch this movie because I am not much of a musical person. About midway through I found myself at the edge of my seat hypnotized by the movie. As the movie drew to an end, I was completely sucked in and waited for something more. The movie I so dreadfully did not want to watch became something I did not want to end. In this movie the director and composer correlated their scenes and music perfectly together to touch the thoughts and emotions of the audience watching.
In the documentary “hoop dreams” the director uses a variety of techniques to attract the viewer. In the beginning scenes we meet william gates and arthur agee to boys with high hopes of playing high school and college basketball both coming from poor neighborhoods which appeals to pathos create a sympathetic feeling in which you want the 2 main characters to succeed in their dreams. William gates and arthur agee live and play basketball as part of their everyday life, which can be reflected from their family arthur father played in his earlier years and william's brother curtis talked about his carrera the director uses a voice over narration with photos of him playing at high school and college level, curtis dropped out of college after being unable to keep up his academics. The director uses a point of view shot when a small recruiter finds arthur and william playing in local courts, he takes them to tryout at St. Joseph's a private school. The director uses a small pause when telling the viewer if william or arthur made the team, they announced william makes varsity and narration of

I will be discussing the Influences on Identify Formation that is reflected in this movie.
At every stage of life, our relationships and families present us with both joys and challenges. Learning to manage stress, to understand our own emotions and behavior, and to communicate effectively can help strengthen our own emotional health, as well as our connections to the important people in our lives. In fact, child abuse can result from physical, emotional, or sexual harm. While child abuse is often in the form of an action, there are examples of inaction that cause harm, such as neglect. Child abuse is widespread and can occur in any cultural, ethnic, or income group. The movie “Divine Secrets of The Ya Ya Sisterhood" depicts a classic Southern tale of hilarious sadness set in a sleepy Louisiana Parish. Sidda, the main character, annoyed by her mother's behavior which affected the relationship with her fiancé. She lived an unhappy childhood, and this led to an effect on the relationship with her mother negatively when she became adult and that explains how family bonds affect children when they become an adult which is referred to intergenerational
I recently finished rewatching the Netflix original series, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. The show follows a young woman named Kimmy Schmidt throughout her life in New York after being held captive in a bunker for 15 years by a psychotic pastor. She was taken by the pastor in 8th grade so she didn’t have much of a childhood, however she still always looked at the brightside of every situation. Kimmy seems so be the anti- Odysseus. Kimmy listens and takes in account everyone’s views/opinions before making up a decision because she knows that it will affect the whole group. However Odysseus seems very close-minded and self-centered. For example, in The Cyclops, Odysseus was originally in favor of just going in and grabbing a few goods and then getting
Whilst watching ‘Hoop Dreams’, the respect that is held for William Gates and Arthur Agee by the filmmakers Steve James, Peter Gilbert and Frederick Marx within the observational documentary (Bill Nichols, 2001) is obvious, and their decorum after the film’s release remains an integral part of the film’s legacy.
Some pro’s in the story are that Rikki-tikki-tivi in the begging Rikki slept under Teddy’s chin. When the mom walks in the room and does not like the Rikki is sleeping too close to his face. The con’s in the begging is when they find Rikki the dad walks up to Rikki and Teddy but in the story the mom walks up to Rikki and Teddy. When Rikki is looking around, he walks into the bathroom and sees Teddy in the bath. Rikki falls into the bath. In the story Teddy was never taking a bath and Rikki never falls in.
Annie Hall, an American romantic comedy released in 1977 retells the story of a man named Alvy Singer (portrayed by Woody Allen) and his attempt at comprehending why his relationship with Annie Hall failed. Annie Hall incorporates many cinematic techniques into its story which help solidify its place regularly on lists of best comedies (Snider). It uses conflict, different types of narratives and a classic three act structure. The movie beautifully conveys a story in New York in which one really feels the characters are actual citizens and not actors (Barsam 166).
