Autobiography of Kevin Prince
Sometimes, I come home after school and stare at a framed picture on my wall of Taj Mahal to remind me of where I was born, India. I spent the first seven years of my life there. Then my family moved to Edmonton, Canada, searching for jobs because my dad’s business profit back home was decreasing immensely. English was very different from my first language, Malayalam, but I was taught the alphabet and its pronunciations at school in India, therefore it was not incredibly difficult for me to adapt. My classmates here were a little confused because I am from India, but my name Kevin Prince. Then I told them that I am Christian and they got even more confused. Over the past eight years that I have lived here, I became closer to my family, made many friends, found new hobbies and began thinking about my dreams and life goals.

I am very fortunate to have a family since the day I was born. They gave me shelter, clothes and put food on the table. They love me no matter what and support me whenever I need it. My family consists of my dad, Prince, my mom, Meera and my two younger brothers, Reuben and Nathan. The rest of my family lives in India, which includes my cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents and great grandparent. I am very lucky to have many amazing friends. I met most of my friends in school. My best friends are Emmanuel and Tanraj. I met Tanraj in grade five and we got along easily. This year we are attending different high schools, but I still keep in touch with him. I met Emmanuel on the first day of junior high school. We are both Malayali (people that have Malayalam as their mother tongue) and christian. I am extremely blessed to have such loving and caring family and
My family is one of a kind. They support me all the time. My dad comes home each day after doing an eight hour shift and manages all the bill payments. My mom cooks, cleans, goes to job, helps me and my brother with homework, and drops/ picks us up from classes every single day. Last but not least, my brother is always there for me. He shares everything with me, even his favorite chocolates. And he is the one that teaches me the forms that I didn’t get in the karate class. Even though we fight a lot, I couldn’t have asked for a better brother than him. I love my family very much and they will always be dear to

Everyday life is great at making you who you are or what you have become. It is amazing how one choice or event can change someones life. This is especially true when it comes to the Vietnam War. There were so many lives that changed during this time. The Vietnam War brought us the end of the draft and instated a volunteer army which we still have to this day. This war also helped give the right for 18 year olds to vote which was a big help to Nixon’s second term as president. With this said the Vietnam War has greatly affected America and Tim O’Brien is one of those people. O’Brien says he wasn't into the war however I think he eventually discovered a new form of happiness from creating his amazing stories with his experiences in the

Throughout his childhood Logan (Tachnechdorus) attained advantageous values and social etiquette. One particular influential ally was a Quaker identified as James Logan who not only provided Tachnechdorus with his name but also educated him until he befriended the future war leader . However, it was after one unprovoked fatal incident involving other settlers that Logan, who once considered the white people as his allies, quickly changed his opinion of them. Hostility erupted within this once diplomatic, unbiased and compassionate man. Recognizing the conflict among the two cultures became the major cause of Logan to take vengeance.

Michael Thomas a 23-year old, 6’3, 209 pound dynamic wide receiver out of Ohio State. Look at any mock draft, any big board, or any prospect rankings and look for Thomas. What do you see? I looked at a combination of over 100 different mock drafts, big boards, and player rankings, and much to my surprise, on average Thomas was rated as the sixth best receiver in the draft.
Racial Bias and Automatic Response in the Misidentification of WeaponsOn March 18th, 2018 Sacramento police officers shot and killed 22-year-old Stephon Clark in the backyard of his grandmother’s house after mistaking his cellphone for a gun. The fatal shooting of Stephon Clark is just one of many incidences where unarmed black men have fallen victim to implicit racial biases. When police officers are pressured to make split second decisions their unconscious biases toward black men becomes present and influences their judgement against black men whom they suspect to be armed with guns but are in fact unarmed. With today’s technological advancements and the media’s ability to reach a large population of people there is greater awareness of

In sixteen years of life, I have received an opportunity to experience different cultures, learning styles, and languages. To start of, I am an American since I was born here, but the reality is that I was raised in India. My parents’ main motivation for moving back to India was because they wanted us to embrace our traditions, and most importantly, value our family relationships. We relocated back to the US at the start of 9th grade. This transition was a huge factor for transforming me as a person. I am cognizant of the two systems, cherish both, and realize that these multicultural experiences have encouraged me to grow and mature beyond my years. Relocating from a place is not as easy as one can imagine. When compared to the US, India
No one can’t meet a family like mine’s. My family is well diversified. Every family member plays an important role in all my family’s lives. In my family, there are four people: my father, my mother, my little brother and me. My father is one who brings money home and is also responsible for organizing and planning family trips. My mother is the one who is in charge for making meals and makes sure everyone eats at the appropriate times. My little brother is the pet of the family. He actually doesn’t have any responsibilities, for he’s the pet. I am the rock of support in my family. I always go beyond my parents’ expectations. I also support my younger cousins and little brother, by being a role model that they can look up to. Another
