Throughout this story Dracula uses transformation into many different animal forms and mist to help get close to and subdue his victims. Starting early in this story uses Dracula’s uses his ability to take different forms to avoid being noticed in his journey to London. Dracula use of transformation to escape the ship without being questioned or identified as the killer of the crew of that ship he arrived on the Demeter. “But, strangest of all, the very instant the shore was touched, an immense dog sprang up on the deck from below…”” … jumped from the bow on the sand. Making straight for the steep cliffs…”” …it disappeared into the darkness…” “ No trace of the dog was ever found of the great dog…” Dracula’s transformed appearance was noticed but he escaped cleanly without any one being the wiser that the death of the crew was caused by him.
