Being that the majority of Kudler’s inventory is perishable its inventory must be consistently tracked. The following brief will evaluate data tables from an accounting perspective, and provide recommendations for improvements. For example, using the attached pivot table Kathy is able to see the top 10 inventory items by dollar value at each location. Analyzing this information can help Kathy determine if inventory will need to move from one location to another to avoid spoiling. The ability to quickly visualize this information is extremely important to making improved decisions. Although Kathy and the management team have a vast amount of data that is generated from standard operations, they must learn to use the information that is available to sound make business decisions. In conclusion this brief has evaluated the design elements of data tables and recommended improvements to the existing data tables. In addition a pivot table was created using inventory data for Kudler Fine Foods.
