Leadership Vision Paper
The vision statement continues the expression of the desired service and the level of achievement necessary to achieve the mission. The values selected are those that support example of innovation-based mission, vision, and values statement (Porter-O’Grady & Malloch, 2011.)
My vision statement is: To treat all patients with dignity and respect at all times. To explain not only what I am about to do for them, but why. I will provide Evidence-based research, when available, for their knowledge. I will allow them autonomy, in their decisions. I will provide each patient compassion and empathy, at all times. I will remember they are a person not just a patient.

By giving them evidence-based research I am providing them with the tools so they can be more informed. By being more informed, they have a better understanding of their situation. By them understanding their situation, they will then have autonomy. Allowing the patient autonomy, gains respect from the patient for the nurse. Hence, making the nursing profession the most honest and ethical profession over the last decade. So, I continue to keep my vision statement close at hand.

My vision for myself as a nurse is that I will care for all patients holistically. I will allow the patient to participate and input ideas into his or her care. I will allow patients to incorporate some of their experiences from their personal lives, and alter my care based on those experiences. I will see the patient as a unique human being and treat all patients with respect and dignity. I will encompass the values that I embrace in everything I do. I will be accountable for my actions and practice within the scope of my license.
Every person has some kind of good and evil traits within their personality, but what really defines good and evil? People from different cultures could consider different traits to be “good” or “evil” or even a little of both. There are times in life where a person has to make certain choices that could be interoperated both ways. In this paper, I will be analyzing different characters in the story “The Good Women of Suzutan” and what type of role each personality plays within the story in order to give the audience a chance to come up with their own ending.
Due to recent changes in law I believe there is a visible shift to the adaptability culture, where Hospital A and other similar organizations are less focused on things like awards, or titles but are focusing more on the multitude of customer feedback. Many hospitals have started providing their patients with surveys that then directly relate back to changes that are implemented. At times the result of the surveys directly affected the amount and type of pay the organization could receive from government sources. This allows the organization to adapt to the needs of the external environment. This type of organization has in a small way always used the adaptability culture due to the fast response and high-risk decision making model that is the bases for the organization, however some organizations are failing to meet the changing expectations from patients and are therefore loosing profits and finding hard finical times.
In short a Vision statement describes the organization's vision for the future. It provides an organization a strong sense of direction as well as an end destination point for management and staff to strive to achieve through their diligent work ethics. (Evans, 2010)
Integrity: The first and most important trait of a leader. Integrity gives a leader validity to always do the right thing. I have a deeper meaning stemming from my family that makes it crucial that I keep integrity first if I desire others to emulate my actions.
As a nurses I will rely on research findings to help in my practice decisions, I will use critical thinking to apply research directly to specific patient care situations. The research process allows me as a nurses to ask and answer questions systematically that will ensure that decisions are based on sound science and rigorous inquiry. Research will help me in a variety of settings answer questions about patient care, education, and administration. Research ensures that practices are based on evidence, rather than eloquence or tradition. The call for evidence-based quality improvement and healthcare transformation underscores the need for redesigning care that is effective, safe, and efficient. As a new nurse I believe that evidence contribute to effective care of the patient, I will use evidence to reduce the rate of morbidity and mortality. According to the textbook evidence can help healthcare professionals avoid making errors in decision making relative to patient care. Using research decreases the need for trial and error, which is time consuming and may prove counterproductive.
The project I chose to demonstrate my leadership on was to go around the Frostburg community picking up recycling and then dumping it in a local landfill. I first chose this project to work on because I thought, how could I help Frostburg and give back to the community? By recycling products and going green, these products can eventually be reprocessed and re-used without having it go to waste. I mainly decided to collect recycling to maintain and keep Frostburg clean and liter free. It establishes a healthy environment for locals, students and staff around the area. Going green and keeping the community environmentally friendly is highly stressed around the world today. Any kind
When taking the two leadership surveys, it was interesting to see my personal leadership profile. My leadership style according to the survey is the instructional type, which in another world is direct leadership. My culture, upbringing, and work environment have transformed me to be direct leaders that are looking for stability. My staff members sadly do not have the opportunity to have a job that is autonomy; working in a manufacturing occupation, one has an organize agenda that cannot be deviated from the task ahead. When team members are needing help or trying to build the familiarity to run their equipment my personal leadership profile can be helpful, since being direct is a starting point to build knowledge. The more one individual shows knowledge, familiar, and passionate for their own results, the further laissez-faire I will become when proving they
In this article, author has talked about achieving the four way wins (Work, home, community and self) and not trading one for the other but to have a mutual value among them by having a total leadership in them. He mentioned total Leadership – “total” because it’s about the whole person and “leadership” as which creates the sustainable change which will ultimately benefit the person and the most important people around them. He has also emphasized on having a clear view of each domain; to design them and to implement the experiments- doing something new for a short period and then analyzing its results by how it affected all four domains. He explained the three principles of the total Leadership process, which are- Be real (to act with authenticity by clarifying what’s important), be whole (to act with integrity by respecting the whole person), be innovative (to act with creativity by experimenting with how things get done). In a nutshell, the author has described how a person can achieve the
The mission statement of an organization communicates the organization’s reasons to exist, and how it aims to serve its key shareholders. A vision statement elaborates on the mission and provides a future-oriented declaration of the organization’s purpose and aspirations. Values are the beliefs of the organization, and value statements reaffirm or state outright the organization’s
Vision Statement is the organization's vision is for the future or long-term goals that will create impact to the business and community.
A mission statement is a key tool that can be used to define an organization’s statement of purpose- who they are and what they do. A good mission statement can communicate succinctly what the target goals and consumers of the organization are. On the other hand, a vision statement is communicates the underlying reason why the company seeks to accomplish their mission statement and provides a strategy on how to implement their goals. A values statement describes the beliefs of the organization. This statement essentially highlights what set of values the organization subscribes to. Mission, vision and value statements are all an important part of any organization’s message to its employees and consumers. An effective statement can serve as a set of guidelines and metrics for employees to measure goals. In addition, effective statements can function as great marketing tools to consumers.
A vision statement is short statement to define the core ideas shaping and directing your business. It’s a description of the long-term changes your company wants to achieve with its work, either by providing products or services. By writing a vision statement you are outlining the place where your organisation is headed and define what the place will look like.
The vision statement reflects how the organization 's ideal image would be in the future. It also shows what your organization is dreamt of. The vision statement develops the center of attention for the strategic planning and they are bound for 5 to 10 years. The vision statement is the mixture of both the purpose and the values of the organization. It is a guideline for the employees to behave according to the expectations and how they can perform or give their best to achieve the desired results. If the vision statement is been shared with the customers , then it makes the customers aware of why they should work.
As indicated in the strategic management model, vision and mission are indispensable. A vision statement describes as a blueprint of what an organization sees itself to be in the future. Therefore, a vision statement must able to answer the question, “What do we want to become?” because main function of vision statement is to communicate to the stakeholder where the organization desires and aspires to be. Generally an effective vision statement
